As we start things off to wind up our college football season
on CBS, here we go from El Paso.
And they'll bring it out to the 25 and four today.
Second down and 16 and Patty on the keeper, Nick Patty, open
field, out of the 40 yard line of UCLA.
He's made 10 of his last 11.
Funny angle, but a 22 yarder is up and good.
Servacio Dennis, Brandon Hilder starting safety.
So the guys that are in there trying to slow down this UCLA offense, and I
don't know if they're going to this time, inside the 10 yard line is Cam Brown.
Out of the 11 yard line, Thompson Robinson on a crossing route,
touchdown UCLA, Logan Loya.
Hey everyone, Wheels here with a quick reminder to subscribe as we're trying
to reach 400,000 before the start of the college baseball season, which
begins February 17th, 2023.
Thank you.
And enjoy the video.
Let's see if it's a quarterback sneak.
It is.
And he dropped the ball.
He got the first down.
I think he did.
What a play.
That's a first down.
Hammond again, Hammond into the secondary, still on his feet and just tripped
himself up or he might've been gone.
Feels against the wind too.
Ben Sauls, 49, looks pretty good.
Nice job, Ben Sauls.
Yeah, threw it right in there.
Back with their rush is going to be a problem for them.
Dan Hayes would be a help if he could get there, but Thompson Robinson going
deep and complete inside the five.
I did it.
Yep.
The protection was good enough.
Putting a half yard line and going Thompson Robinson pushed into
the end zone, touchdown UCLA.
And now watch out.
So you don't get a little skirmish going to the end zone.
Oh, he, did you see at the end, he said, Oh no, no, no, no.
I don't want a second penalty for one 40.
Fakes it to Keegan Jones and rips it to the sideline.
Complete again and another big play.
And this one's Cam Brown.
The comeback route.
I love the comeback route.
And now here's tempo from the Bruins and another throw to Brown
and a rope over to the sideline.
And the other guys don't, you got an advantage.
And an interception at the five yard line.
Pulled down by Tyler Wilkes and a first down mistake by UCLA.
Throwing high over the middle.
The seven minute mark, second quarter, Nick Patty, look out, Nick.
Want himself some time.
Now he's going deep.
Man out there and he caught it.
The fender got turned around and Bub Means has got it for the Panthers.
Again, the pressure comes.
He got away from it.
Throws on the run.
Touchdown.
What a play.
Was he across the line of scrimmage?
Bub Means in the end zone.
We'll take another look at it.
It was close.
When he decided he wasn't running, he got rid of it in a hurry.
Let's look.
Falls right on the 15 yard line.
He comes up in the pocket.
Nice job.
Just before he got there.
They've got everybody set where they want them now.
Patty's going to roll to his right, throw on the run and he got it easily.
Having a good football game, isn't he?
Sure is.
That's what he wanted to do today.
And felt it.
That's for sure.
No doubt.
Here's a quick screen pass to Keegan Jones.
Keegan Jones on the run across midfield.
So we don't have the breakaway jerseys, but we got the breakaway undershirts.
Pick up a 19 on the catch and run for Keegan Jones.
And another first down and then south to Cam Brown, who's had a big first half as
well.
They're down at five.
This time it's a touchdown.
Touchdown.
The second big play for him.
Full experience.
Absolutely.
They keep doing it with a.
Thompson Robinson out getting a block and I think he stepped out of bounds, but he
still got a big play.
Downs.
We've got third down and four here.
Thompson Robinson.
That one's tipped and intercepted again.
This one's by Javon McIntyre.
He was going to Michael Izziki that time, the tight end.
That ball was thrown too hard.
Blitz coming off the corner.
And you can say goodbye on this one.
Jalen touchdown, UCLA.
Oh, he read that like a comic book over on the corner.
And that was all she wrote.
They're coming after him.
Got rid of it and it completes it.
And it's Bumfield.
First down.
Blitz coming off the edge for the Bruins.
The run goes the other way.
And Vincent Davis, who I just mentioned earlier, hasn't played that much.
Comes up with a big play.
Rodney Hammond from a yard.
It's always come back as a quarterback coming back for a pick six.
And the UCLA record books.
He's looking for another one and he had it intercepted.
Pippo with the interception, the third thrown by Dorian Thompson Robinson.
And that is a huge one.
Yeah.
The other ones might've been quick throws, two hard throws, but this is just a
poor read.
Kamara is right in his line of vision, trying to throw the cool rod.
He's right here at the line of scrimmage and he goes back, gets into, falls into
it.
You think you got a wide open receiver.
You don't.
And he'll give it to him off the right side and into the end zone.
Touchdown Rodney Hammond.
Pips an extra point away from another tie in the game.
This time they run the ball right at Gonzalvez, number 76.
And Rodney Hampton knows how you run that stretch play.
You can see the UCLA returners are on the seven yard line.
Guessed correctly.
They'd come up and fumble it at the, as Gary said, they were planted back inside
the 10, but the kick only made it to about the 12.
They didn't play the wind, did they?
Patty with three receivers to the right.
That's the way he's going down the middle and completes.
Off the left foot of Ben Solo, holds up.
You can see the wind take it, but it's good.
I think it was offsides on the play though.
Meanwhile, even Garvey's in a tough spot.
There's a little bit of room out for the six for TJ Harden.
Mumfield in motion.
Here comes an all out blitz.
Patty got rid of it on a crossing route to Mumfield.
And Mumfield does it again.
Man to man, they're coming after you.
Patty at advantage in the air again.
Incomplete.
And just got it inside the upright.
I thought that one was going wide.
Garber's hit as he throws.
Ball wobbles up, should have been intercepted.
It's incomplete.
And Pitt takes over right away.
There's three for three on fourth down today.
Hammond dropped the ball, Pitt up and he stopped.
UCLA takes over.
I can't believe they weren't under center there.
I really can't believe it.
They do get the first down by just.
Going to go the other way.
Garber's throw is complete.
First and goal at about the eight yard line.
40 seconds at the snap.
A handoff on the ground into the end zone.
It's good.
Fires and completes it.
Beautiful throw.
Down around the 45 yard line to Jared Wayne.
Of 18, out to the 43.
Just a three man rush.
Patty loads, reloads.
Throws and incompletes.
That was near the target line intended for Bob Means.
He caught it.
I take it back.
I beg your pardon.
Now they're going to ground it.
Stops the clock with 20 seconds.
How about those two throws?
Second catch was magnificent.
Actually, the first catch by Wayne was great.
And the second one was 17 yards.
I didn't think he held this because he went to the ground with Osling.
Oh, it bounced, but he caught it.
Did it bounce off the ground?
He double caught it, but I don't think it ever hit the ground.
Well, here you go.
Gary said, we've seen everything else.
Patty.
Buddy, inside the 30, y'all gotta hustle.
If he would have been tackled, the game would have went over.
Since he gets the first down, the clock stops.
What a play by Nick Patty.
Now they're getting the ball set.
Clock runs.
They spike it with 10.
He won't have to tip anybody if he hits his field goal.
Up and Soles does it again.
Game is not over.
Be careful.
You don't get a penalty.
Then you'd have to kick after the penalty.
Four seconds remaining.
Ethan Garbers, the lofts it one more time.
If he gets a chance off his back foot, as far as he can throw it in the traffic
intercepted, game over, Pitt wins the 89th Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.
Oh, look at this right into the other bench too, man.
We don't have a fight to end the game.
Like we almost had one of the warmups.
Yes.
Look at this.
It's been too good a game to ruin it that way.
That's a ninth win of the year for Pat Narduzzi and Pitt after an ACC
championship last year in an 11 win season.
So 20 wins over the last two years for the Panthers.
