Chinese Americans Trying TAIWAN Snacks

I'm gonna sneeze. It's not that spicy. It's just like it goes up in your nose. It goes right into your Hey, what's up guys? It's Mike. It's Dan As you know I was just just in Taiwan and if you haven't follow along with my adventure check my vlog channel But I brought some snacks from Taiwan Now we're gonna try. I'm gonna share with you guys These are some Taiwanese authentic supposedly authentic Tony said snacks I made sure when I bought them that one I bought him a 7-eleven the official store of Taiwan Okay, too. I made sure they said made in Taiwan right so it wasn't like it So I wasn't getting like bamboozled. We're gonna try them out and let you guys know what we think a lot of varieties here Let's start off with This It's kind of cute so from the packaging. It looks like a Pokemon. It's More less Drowsy yeah Drowsy pooh oh that looks like a drowsy. Oh my gosh. Yeah with a baseball yeah in his mouth Chinese it says Swans has one chance homie nice shot. Yeah, so sweet and sour strawberry filling whoa the seven different types Oh, I think in here, okay, so I think this is just chocolate balls Like a kinder egg, there's nothing something inside. Yeah, it's like a cracker jack box Kinder egg It looks like spider-man trying to get into a box of snacks No, here's the thing that you use these you can put them on your cup there. We go. Oh Oh, yeah Show them what's it all about I like that Wait can you just hang out in your house and have this just hanging on your dad is just not stable though They're basically chocolate balls. Oh, yes chocolate-covered strawberries. Thank you. They smell like chocolate-covered strawberries. Yeah They look like Nuggets It's not crunchy hard Not even chewy Hard to chew you consider those chewy. It's hard to chew but the chocolates dissolving so it's kind of weird like the inside It's really hard This is I like it I'll tell you what there's nothing unique to it It literally just tastes like anything any chocolate-covered cranberry Next let's try something salty She's open What she's open. This is she's open. He's open. It has a cute character on the bottom It says young you young little potato ball Okay, little balls got like a bunch of creepy honestly creepy looking characters in the back Like they have no eyeballs How's calm let me ask you guys looking at this thing house comes the potato has an eyeball and below characters They're like they look like literally like so little zombies. Oh, yeah, I love puffy crispy salty snacks Me too savory snacks. Oh, I Look it's almost like it's 3d. It's like a it's like two chicks mixes. Yeah Addiction city right? Oh, wow. Oh it melts in your mouth. Oh, this is a winner. This is airy. It's crunchy It's perfect amount of saltiness It's better than a potato chip You know, but you can find something really similar like this in a Japanese Yeah, this melts. It also isn't so greasy that you can't stand it. No, we see at all I'm gonna give this one and nine out of ten Wow You guys taste the cheesiness. Yeah. Yeah, I can't go back in only seconds. All right next This that looks good. Oh my gosh, they have the equivalent of this in mainland China Made by this brand called Oishi. Okay, and it's really good. Wow. This looks up. It's it's ketchup flavor Okay, happy. Yummy, Texas fries. Okay, yo, I'll tell you right now I love anything ketchup flavored but they don't on from the Packaging doesn't look like there's ketchup So they kind of look like those vegetable chips you like I love them. I mean, they're definitely ketchup flavored. You can't tell but there's minuscule Ketchup flavoring on there. I love this. It doesn't match well with the texture of the chip I feel like they're just they don't they don't mesh. I like this. I'll give it an 8 out of 10 Oh, let's do something weird here You may show Paul food, whoa, I'm a since 1934 Wow, mini pops Manila, I like snacks with guts. Really? I want to take it to take a bite I can yeah, they're guts, but you don't have a preference on guts. Like I only wanna see guts Yeah, I don't want salty guts stops calling it guts It's a filling. I don't know science science little size noodles size noodles in the brand Yeah, it's the number one ramen brand in Thailand. It's hot. Everybody loves it. I never had this before Oh, it's uni that that that that brand it makes a lot of like instant food, right? So this is basically a this is basically a dry ramen. Oh It's called so seeing the art, which is be careful Because it's gonna bite you because look at how much ramen it put is in the mouth They literally they look like just a little piece of dry ramen. Okay, I like that So you just what you just going for like a little? Yeah Yo, favorite thing in the world 9 out of 10 that's literally dried ramen right there Love it the regular ramen when you try to break it up though. Don't be surprising sharp pieces. Yeah Yeah, this is literally made for you to like Like it deep-fried it, you know, it's not healthy, but it's very good. It's so good I'll tell you something really interesting when I was little and I broke up the ramen I should step on the ramen back before I open it So it's all because I couldn't break it with my hands strong enough, but when I step on it, it breaks up Really? Oh, that's cute. Well, that's better than what we did Like just like this body slamming. Oh, that's what I did first. Boom. Boom. Boom This I think I will like First of all, it is beautiful. Yeah, like that's it. That's a beautiful looking fish. So this is fish flavored fried Not fried actually not fried guns guns. Wish you tell you Wow It's crispy. It just literally translates to miles will be a fish. Yeah. Yeah, you know, it's so cool. Oh, there's a fish world There's a comic in the back. Yeah, we'll be all low hole guns. Oh That's a winner, I like it I like it I'm a little disappointed though, because it doesn't taste anything like fish It tastes a little bit like a little bit like fish tiny bit like a shrimp. No shrimp. But a tiny yes Like um, like it tastes it has the texture of a shrimp chip is glazed with something sweet and sesame eat So a little sweet and salty. Oh So they made me buy this like I took I took one off And then 7-eleven was like no since I mean you put on the young But you have to get this in a group so okay, this is like this looks like literally a cat on crack Yes I think they're like cartoon characters. Yeah They're literally the creepiest things ever seen my life. I mean if you saw a cat like that, you're gonna run. Yeah I've come to the realization that I think all of these are the same. So we only need to try one There's what so he chipped you bro. No, they got to be different. They're different packaging. No Snacks this is seaweed. They're all seaweed. These are ghost cats, by the way, they're definitely ghost cats This is the Taiwanese version of like Digimon right here. Well, actually guys, I don't know that might be an actual anime We haven't seen oh, oh they're pieces. Oh, they look good. Oh, they're pieces fries with seaweed on them, but see weekly like Yeah, normally literally look like little bits of french fries. Can't tell you anytime. I see little powdery speckles of green I'm in because it's seaweed. I'm in That's very Japanese tasting They're literally tastes like dried french fries. They are with that sesame Oh, there's an exact it almost like exactly the same snack in Japan. Okay, that tastes just like this Yeah, so this is definitely a Taiwanese snack But maybe they ripped it off from Japan. Yeah I still can't put my finger on this. I've never tried french fries. Can I ask you guys something same character? Is it because I was gonna say how come Taiwanese characters never have souls? It's the same brand or there's actually a cartoon with these guys. Well, that's very similar to these eyeless guys Yeah, there's this cat who's eyeless I'm all this and it was another thing we had that was Bro, can I just ask so is this soulless company? Yeah, like in America we have very recognizable mascots, right cheeto cheeto cheetah Chester cheetah. Yes, and then there's the Captain Crunch Tony the Tiger. Yeah, and the bunny, you know, they all have a comic tricks. Well, they all have souls Yeah So this must be the Taiwanese equivalent the soulless brand. It looks very crispy I mean you want to eat more. No, you got each. No, we got it all either. Oh, what is it? So come on, that's yo Because when you take one, I'm gonna eat the whole thing I just want to eat a little bit because this looks like could be something that good to me. I Don't like textures like this I've had this many times because It's really doughy like it's filling. It's like it's literally a condensed olive garden breast stick. Yeah And what says what seaweed? No Either you need a whole one Thanks. Everyone says good goodies again soulless girl. No, I've no eyeballs now. Yeah, you know if I had if I was still into Barbies I would make Barbie make herself a pot of ramen with perfect size of that. I wonder what if you put this into a little pot? You know, you know those guys that make miniature foods What if you put this into a little pot and you boil it would this be a perfect bowl of ramen soup? It would be well, I'm not doing this flavor. There's no worry flavor. It's not good Everything has to be seaweed flash snack Yeah, this is the most type of yellow based snacks I've ever seen how one these people love Like at least the other one they kind of made it bigger This is literally like if you broke a bag of ramen, this would fall out. I like something that's soft not too crunchy I don't want to hurt me and just cheat you could do a lot with this Yeah, this kind of powder thing because the powder you get it in the US not that spicy. No, this is really good These are the ones I think all of us think it's really let's try it Yeah, oh put that big giant chunk in there oh Wait, wait This is fully have the big Ready shake it up. Oh my god You know that that spicy cheeto challenge people do where like some cheeto might be really spicy got nothing on this Those are pretty enjoyable. I feel like Taiwanese snacks. A lot of them are very similar Yeah, you know like if you're gonna like I don't know maybe I got like just Just I don't know because I got them all at 7-eleven. I went to two places I'm gonna go 7-eleven and I went to a snack store And there's a lot of dry stuff like dry squid and stuff like that's pretty typical We get that everywhere so these are only ones I've done like I felt was really authentic in Taiwan and Someone really good. I feel like I'm really good. What was your favorite that that cheese puff potato thing that that's really good I would say it's a tie between that and the ramen snacks.
