TRADITIONAL Taiwanese BREAKFAST & Hello Kitty Flight to Seoul South Korea

So the last several weeks have been insanely crazy my schedule Uh, this is so out of whack I was supposed to go to europe for about a month and a half that ended up falling apart just A few days ago and I do intend to go to more european countries but for now i'm gonna go take care of some food regrets, so Let's go back to asia This time my trip to asia is gonna be pretty long because this whole month i was supposed to be in europe And all of a sudden he just fell through so I thought I'd just spend some time in some of the countries I I love the most and film a little relax a little just just Enjoy my time there and as always before I leave got to get some food and what i'm eating today where i'm going today is a place I I never thought I would ever go to um, and uh, hang on My friend's coming Hello. Hey. Hey We're going to vegan today vegan Are you excited? I know it's not your beat, but i'm not excited at all. It's really good I can't believe you you would even like go there. It's surprising. It's surprising. They're mac and cheese I have been dreaming about for a month now Fried fermented soy sauce chicken Crawfish the crawfish here is so good. Yeah Is like my favorite. Oh, yeah. Wait, what is this? This is the pancake. Is that chicken? That's chicken that's chicken chicken chicken, okay Tell me that doesn't smell bomb. I mean it smells great And the chicken I mean i'm glad they made it into the little drumstick. Wait That's it Try a bite. Don't we need like 20 plates of this just like tiny Do you know what this is made out of fermented soy? I gotta say It's not bad Tastes like chicken juicy like chicken I will come back with this chicken and this chicken Really good. I can't believe I cannot believe it's not me. This is the money maker. Oh my gosh Oh my gosh barbecue crawfish Wow I actually like vegan food this much my mind's trying to reject it because I know what it is But my mouth and my tongue my tummy's loving it Is that good? Yeah, you like it That's pretty darn good I gotta tell you i'm pretty satisfied right now, yeah, so We ate everything that was that was pretty that was pretty amazing for I mean, it's not what I thought I thought like, you know, it's not having a food before there's a video on that. It was not good This was really delicious. What was your favorite out of everything you ate today? Um Okay, I love the crawfish. That was a good call I love the chicken. I love the ice cream and cookie. That was that was really nice satisfying. So basically everything we ate Yeah, I mean, yes, basically it was really good. Good call. Good call. Yeah, I mean don't do it to me too often. Okay Because like, you know just because this one worked out doesn't mean the next vegan plays well, but I will push my luck, right? But it was pretty good. Thank you. Thank you Before I went on the plane I had to grab some dumplings those fish dumplings Man, I love them. Those will definitely be in my best dumplings of new york video I just want to try it one more time just to make sure and yeah, they are awesome wontons. Not so much All right, i'm full i'm satisfied. Let me tell you guys where i'm heading off to so this trip is pretty open-ended I'm gonna go to korea. Uh, there's a there's a place. I haven't been to jeju. I have not been there I've been wanting to go and this will probably be one of my last trips to korea as much as I love the country I've been going a lot So I feel like this is gonna be one of my last trips And then from korea, I want to go back to japan because last time I left there was still A lot of places I wanted to try haven't got a chance to so i'm gonna go Basically for a food cleanup and then after that i'm thinking about heading to southeast asia There's a couple places in singapore. I want to hit up. There's a bunch of places in hong kong I haven't been to hong kong in a long time But like I said, it's open-ended it could change so i'm gonna take it a day at a time And what i'm kind of fearing now is my 26 hour flight. Yeah, 26 hour flight 10 hour layover in taipei Anyway, let's get to it You say everything right i'll see you at dinner dinner slash breakfast is chicken rice with the asparagus salad Cucumbers usually with premium economy the size are much better than the entree It was either chicken with the rice would be the pasta trust me you do not want airline pasta Oh, that's bad. The rice is hard I mean just being honest with you guys this thing tastes like cardboard One of the food times I really like the vegetables over the meat breakfast is some spinach and scallops First time having scallops for breakfast. This is very chinesey too congee And a mantou and just like last time fish floss Much better than the chicken Good morning. It's about 5 30 Local time here in taipei just landed I got about a 10 hour layover. Um The asian in me got the cheapest plane ticket possible So this is what I have to deal with but 10 hour layover in taiwan Of course means I can go to exploring and I can go grab some food and I know exactly where I want to go So how about some taiwanese breakfast? Last time I was here. I was filming the 7-eleven video This country definitely has like a really homey vibe for me. I could live here I came here years ago, and i've been thinking about it Yonghe soy milk if you want a traditional taiwanese breakfast, this is where you go The must get food item here, of course is the soy milk Um, and there's two different types. One type is sweet. One type is salty. This is of course the salty one Oh, it's all curdling on top now and then mixed in some of the fried dough, which you see here And some other uh, some sesame oil some scallions some pickled veggies This might not look like the the best thing but trust me You want this some xiao long bao or some little buns? And these are not going to be the same type of soup dumplings as you would get in china or the u.s There's a lot less soup in here And honestly this country is probably not the best for soup dumplings, but I just want some they make all their pancakes here fresh This thing is flaky It's got so many layers and it's just beautifully crunchy on the outside with that nice sesame Fragrant sesame flavor On the inside I had them wrap an egg and of course I got some extra fried dough to dip into my soy milk Wow, I love how smooth The soy milk is it's just like drinking silk. I love everything they put in here If you look close you can also see little bits of shrimp So the pickled veggies and the scallions gives it a nice crunch Such a nice fragrance from the sesame oil. It's about as perfect of a breakfast item As you can find anywhere Anything you put in this and trust me i'll be putting a lot of stuff in here turns into what food paradise should taste like observe regular fried dough You just level this thing up by a thousand not even exaggerating dou jiang you'll tell soy milk fried dough The perfect couple you don't believe me. There's actually a song about that You always gotta give some extra fried dough because this will retain some of its crunch and this thing is right out of the fryer So it is fresh. Oh one thing I forgot to add in there. We gotta add some hot oil This is the thing that levels up the things that levels up other things It's the perfect dipping apparatus for this but the flavor profile is not deep until now let's go deep Oh my god, this soy milk is just so transformative. I don't care what you dip in here. It's gonna make it amazing Oh, no, I just wasted like some juice I wish the skin was a little thinner but pretty juicy one more thing. I got this is extremely popular here in taiwan And i'll tell you guys this this thing is also extremely extremely dense on the inside There's fried dough pickled veggies and basically shredded pieces of meat usually pork so sticky rice with all that stuff wrapped inside That is good But it is so heavy. Let's also dip this in here It makes everything even though they're already delicious even better You know, I think when jack traded for those magic beans He then sold it to these guys here and they're using it to make the soy milk because this stuff is just magical I'm at my next food location, but they're not gonna be open for another hour. I'm trying a new place For my favorite one of my favorite taiwanese dishes braised pork over rice, so let's go find some food before we go eat food I was kind of hoping for like a taste of taiwan mcdonald's, but I guess their promotion right now is the taste of america So I wanted to try the items in mcdonald's taiwan. That's different than you'll find in the u.s This is all I could find One is pork and one is chicken and also a corn soup The other stuff is is pretty much the same as the menu items in the u.s It's just fried pork cutlet on top of a lot of cabbage. There's cheese in here slice of cheese Okay, honestly, this is not bad I mean toast I like the pork cutlet is pretty crispy on the outside It's it's not very juicy pretty dense on the inside But the cabbage is actually a really nice contrast to the meat itself I like the bread more than I like the the typical buns much better option and for like two bucks It's pretty massive size. I mean look at this This is the chicken It's nice and crispy on the outside Actually pretty juicy on the inside same thing going on with the cabbage that slice of cheese down there doesn't really do a lot This is a corn soup It smells sweet. So i'm thinking this is some sort of dessert item Nope not dessert. It's like a corn soup the corn sweet. It's not overly flavorful It doesn't taste bad. Actually, you know what? It might go pretty well with the big sandwiches. I said these things are a little dense I'm gonna take a bite simple corn soup It's not too bad this place right here Sanyuan Braised pork over rice. Usually I love Qingfeng But my friends told me I gotta try this place out. So let's do that. I'll tell you which one is better So excited for this place the auntie told me this place been open for over a hundred years. This is third generation Recipe passed down same recipe and this is what i'm here for Braised pork over rice. It's a small bowl really really cheap about 70 cents And this is what you want in good little fun You want that fat to kind of mix in because eating the rice is part of the experience of eating this dish and she gave Me a pickle radish as well. She said this goes perfect with the with this little bowl. You can see all the way on the bottom Let's go digging All the way on the bottom. You see how the rice is completely drenched From the fat sweat of the pork. Basically when the braised pork goes on top of this rice It melts it covers the rice and what's left is the lean parts of it Actually every bit of this pork you don't need to chew it ever It's like every single grain is surrounded by this delicious porky aura that as soon as you bite it Completely overwhelms your senses this radish acts as a palate cleanser So you get a little relief from the fat it basically hits a reset button in your mouth So you can enjoy all that porky fatness just like it's the first time and the rib soup There's pork ribs the broth is is really mild very soft actually, let's just Add a little spice to the pork Actually, I can't tell you which one's better I like them both Oh, man, but you should try both places and let me know which which one you guys like If you're like me, you got a long layover Right right early in the morning. Go get yourself some soy milk then get you a bowl of this Well, it's empty now, but you know what? I mean braised pork over rice gotta have that I had to get another bowl Okay, I definitely gained like three waist sizes since this morning One more place I gotta go I think it'll be the perfect conclusion to this day with all that fat I ate today I need some tea and I always come to this tea shop when i'm in Taipei These guys are really really awesome Gotta smell it first Hmm that's nice Very floral So the key to good tea is if you smell the dry tea And it smells floral or smells really nice That's that's just chemical fragrance Real tea doesn't smell like anything when it's dry only when it's um, only when it's steep does it really releases? Fragrance, so you get these two and this you pour into that and you smell this Very integral tea experience Very fragrant very floral aftertaste Great place Third time I've been there is like it's like family atmosphere in there go in there you sit down and have a Several cups of tea. They just keep pouring for you Bought some tea for myself Really need to experience this if you guys like tea. All right. Well, I figure this is a pretty successful layover I think I ate and drank everything I wanted to so Let's go to korea I didn't know about this last time I was here, but there is a subway station connecting taipei station to the airport now Um, it's only 160 taiwan dollars. So you're gonna save a lot by using the subway instead of taking a taxi Oh, no way these subways have like a little charging platforms for your phone, this is awesome I wasn't expecting this but check it out from taipei to incheon I'm flying the hello kitty plane. Oh, man. I'm kind of excited. Even my ticket's different by the way Did you know hello kitty is not a cat? It's a it's a girl like just the creepiest looking girl Barf bag is cartoonized imagine trying to throw up in this cute little thing. It's like the cutest little Airplane promo thing I think i've ever seen. This is the hello kitty meal Actually, if you get the kids meal, it has more of a cutesy flair to it Which I should have gotten I didn't know this neither tastes delicious nor adorable This is my second time staying at the courtyard at nandemoon, this is like the only reasonably prized hotel I could find right now I love asian hotel rooms That's nice I'm, really really excited all the time for asian hotel rooms mainly because Slippers Oh That is the greatest thing. So the plan is guys i'm gonna stay in seoul for a few days Um, I got some videos I wanted to film And then i'm gonna go to jeju never been there before can't wait gonna spend over a week over there But right now Priority one.
