Hello everyone, welcome to Manila, London. So today I'm going to show you how to plant marigold. You can plant this in hot weather too.
And we have pot here and also we've added soil already.
So this is my saucer that I'm using.
And we're going to plant our marigold.
So this marigold is a piece of cake.
This is a mixture of yellow and orange.
So what you're going to do, you just spread some seeds.
This seed is very cheap and you can buy it online. I bought this on eBay.
Let's add some more.
Let's add a little bit of soil on top.
And then let's just water this.
You can put this in a greenhouse if you have a heated greenhouse or indoor.
The best time to plant this is March or April. You can plant this until May or June.
The marigold will germinate in 7 to 14 days, so I'll give you an update.
This is now our marigold.
They're growing very nice and healthy.
They're having real leaves now.
At this point of 2 to 3 inches in height, you can transplant in permanent area or in pots in sunny location in your garden.
Not only in the UK you can plant marigold, they like hot weather too like in the Philippines.
This is now our marigold and needs to be transplanted.
This is a combination of orange and yellow marigold.
This is going to be here on my raised bed.
I got a couple of raised beds here and over here and the other one there.
I'm going to plant in every corner.
Marigold is now going to open these flowers or buds.
Make sure you water them every other day or three times a week.
They don't like drying out.
This is the update of our marigold.
Look at them, they're so pretty.
They are pollinators as well.
Now it's blooming or blooms here.
It seems like they're getting a lot of branches.
It has a lot of branches.
Here we have orange.
I like it. lt's pretty, isn't it?
Same as here we have yellow.
In the corner we have bright yellow.
It's so pretty. I mean, it's...
Here we have a big bloom.
I can't believe it.
I like it. I like it.
This one's brighter than the other one.
If you notice that, it's darker and this is brighter yellow.
What I did to my marigold.
I planted it in all my raised beds.
Every raised bed has a marigold.
As you can see that way.
Because they're pollinators and also they attract bees.
And they're insect repellent.
Yes, it's true, they're insect repellent.
As you can see in my plants, I have no damage to my leaves.
My chili and all my spinach there.
This is a companion planting.
And look at my celery.
There are no bugs, no damage to the leaves.
They're really good.
So I've been doing this for three years now.
Companion planting and it's very effective.
When you see flowers like this getting brown or wilting.
That's when you need to blind-head them.
And you can have more flowers coming in the future.
