Hi guys, welcome back to my channel.
It is Drew here from Lone Fox and thank you for joining me today for part two of the really
fun kind of strange kitchen living room small space makeover.
Thank you all so so much for all the love and support on the first one.
Like I cannot believe it has like 170,000 views in like two days, which is absolutely
crazy and I just wanted to thank you guys so much for that.
But today we are going to be diving in a little bit more and going into literally like everything
else that I'm doing in the apartment and then also there is a really really good reveal
at the end.
I just finished editing the reveal and I think it looks so good.
I'm very very happy with how that turned out and if you are not already, make sure to follow
me over on Instagram.
I actually post a lot of more behind the scenes type stuff over there and I actually
asked you guys a lot of different questions when it came to picking out decor and furniture
pieces and I do like little polls and stuff.
So definitely follow me over at Lone Fox home on Instagram.
And lastly before jumping in, don't forget that Desenio is still having their 30% off
sale.
If you use code Drew at checkout, you can get 30% off of posters and that sale is only
active until the 24th at midnight.
So if you wanted to get any artwork or anything like that, definitely check the description
box below for the link to Desenio.
And yeah, let's just honestly, the video speaks for itself.
Let's get into the video.
Hello guys, good morning.
It is bright and early and I'm currently at Ikea just because I need to pick up a majority
of the additional items that weren't gifted from article, which thank you so much article
for those items.
But I did want to get a like miniature little dining table, some chairs, a small bookcase,
and then just like a couple other random things like a lamp, a rug, and then some decor elements.
So I'm going to pick those up right now and bring you guys with me.
Found a section of green pillowcases.
Oh my gosh, look how cute this one is.
It kind of goes with the wall.
So then I'm going to grab one of these.
This one is pretty cool and graphic too.
So I'm going to grab this.
Okay.
I'm going to grab this knitted blanket.
It's on sale for $34.99.
So I feel like that's pretty good because it's actually very substantial.
I'm also picking up a curtain rod and I don't know if you knew this, but the Ikea curtain
rods literally is $4.99 for the bar.
And then we got these $2.
So that makes our total seven.
You just need two of these, which is $3.
So $10 for the entire curtain rod, which is really good.
And it's like a matte black color.
The sheer, but I also really like this one with the stripe.
So I've basically been walking around the rug section for a solid 30 minutes because
I cannot decide on the rug.
Like any rug I find is like $400 and any rug that I don't like is like $100, which is a
problem.
I kind of liked this one because it actually has like that bluish color on the wall in
it, but they don't make a big enough size.
It's kind of like a daring option because it is a similar color to the wall, but it
also has like a lighter blues in it.
This is the perfect size.
It's only $70.
So I think I'm going to go with this one because I feel like this Moroccan style rug could
look nice in there.
I'm going to grab this light as well.
I just love the black and brass kind of features and it's only $49.99, which I feel like is
a pretty good price.
All right, you guys, we have one full car of stuff and then Marie's pushing all of the
furniture.
Oh.
Twerks and Ikea.
All packed up.
Luckily, I have a really big trunk to hold all my options.
So now we're going to head over to the apartment.
I just got back from Ikea and I'm going to start building all the furniture.
We have the table back there, the two chairs, and then a little bookshelf as well.
After I assemble everything, I'm going to place the rug down and see how that looks.
Let's just start assembling the furniture.
The table looks perfect.
It is exactly what I wanted, like I love the dark black and then the warm wood on top with
the fireplace behind it.
I think it looks amazing.
I know it does kind of block the fireplace, but at the same time, the fireplace is just
in an odd location, like if you guys can agree with me.
So I think it still looks super cute right there in front of it.
And of course, if you do turn on the fireplace, you're probably going to want to maneuver
the chair maybe over here so you're not burning yourself.
I don't know if you remember, there was like a kind of square unit here that had their
TV on top of it.
Moved that completely away because I want this window to be completely and freely open
and it actually just provided so much more walking space by the couch.
All right, so the curtains are hung and the print looks amazing.
It's not overpowering at all, or I guess the stripe looks really great, but they are a
little too long.
We hung them almost all the way to the ceiling as you could see, but at the same time, they're
just a little tiny bit too long because I realized Ikea's curtains are 98 inches, which
is really strange because the normal curtain is 96, which probably honestly would have
been perfect cutting off those two inches.
Just built the $19 Ikea shelf and honestly guys, I could see why this is $19.
The actual legs here are disconnected, so you have to screw them together.
But you know what?
For $19, this works.
I also wish they had these as black screws because I know Ikea makes these as black screws.
So Ikea, these need to be black because like, why is it silver?
So I wanted something skinny and pretty small and not too popping out from the wall just
because I wanted to add a couple of decor elements and just display a couple of items
here because there's really nowhere else in the apartment so far to display anything.
So that is like the situation that we are working with.
Some of the other Ikea items I didn't really share with you guys was this really cute like
foresty emerald green velvet cushion.
I also got this little vase because it was only $10 and I thought that it would be a
nice kind of decorative addition.
And then I had this in my car.
I meant to give this to my mom for Christmas, but I got her so many other things.
So I'm just going to put it in here because it's a really amazing smelling candle.
And then I got this little brass pot, which is going to have this kind of, I don't know
why I don't know the name of this.
I should, but I don't.
And then I got this plant with the pot as well.
They're just faux.
And then I got a little wooden man.
I'm currently in Target right now and I've run into a dilemma because I came to get just
a runner, which I found the runner right there, but I also was looking at normal rugs because
I'm not a hundred percent sat on the one that we currently have.
And let me share with you guys.
So there is this one here, which looks like this, which to me just looks amazing.
But the issue is it's only a five by seven and I definitely need it to be more of like
a five by eight.
So this would have been perfect if it was a five by eight, but I'm wondering if I should
layer on top of it.
It would increase the price of the project, but I'm also like thinking about how amazing
it would look.
And I'm kind of willing to do that.
So then the other one would be this one that Marie has, this ivory printed faux cow hide
rug.
We would probably just need the smaller one.
Could you imagine that cow hide with this one layered under the couch with the green
wall?
Also, I just wanted to share this with you guys because I'm in like this random outdoor
section, but look how cute these pots are.
Like this tall one with this for your outdoor area and they're on clearance too.
I'm not going to get it because I don't really need it, but it's really cute.
Running into even more of an issue now because I'm at world market to get the little cow
hide rug I just shared with you guys.
But look, they have the cow hide rug back here, which is so cute and it's a faux cow
hide, which is definitely what I wanted.
But they also have the cutest rugs that will actually fit the space at a much more affordable
price in both rugs combined.
Like even this one is so cute.
Look at it.
Oh my gosh.
I don't know what to do.
So I ended up getting the cow hide rug at world market and then I also was trying to
get a coffee table to like flip or redo at a thrift store.
And I went to two different thrift stores yesterday and just had no luck with it.
So we ended up getting a coffee table at world market that was 50% off.
Got the rug.
All right guys, so we just glued up the curtains and just placed them back on and they are
such a better length before they kind of were dragging on the floor.
So this kind of gives a little bit of space.
And honestly, when you do actually pull them out, they fit perfectly.
But when they're kind of crunched up, they look a little bunchy, which I actually like
that look.
I think it kind of adds a bit of texture to the space and there's the one over there.
So I think I mentioned to you guys that I have a lot of different rug options now.
Here are our three options.
So this one's from target.
It's that one that I just recently shared with you.
I also picked up this one at world market because I want to layer it with the target
one, but I also have the original Ikea one.
So we are going to try, I'm going to try the target option first because I feel like that's
definitely going to be the way that I want to go.
Here is the first target rug.
And as you could see with like compared to the couch, it is just not long enough, which
is why I wanted to do a layered look.
That way I'm able to pull the rug more out this way and kind of have it go a foot along
the edge here and then put the other rug kind of more over here.
And it's kind of an organic shape with the cowhide look, put the couch on top and see
how it looks.
Look how cute this cowhide is.
It's such a pretty color.
It's like tan with white and it's faux.
So in my head, I always had the intention of putting the cowhide shape over the top,
but I actually really like it underneath.
I'm kind of extending this rug because I just feel like this one's so much more graphic
and pretty.
I wish they had this in a larger size, but it's only available in a five by seven.
All right.
So I thought I was going to do the pink one and I ended up changing it to this bluish
teal one with the little cowhide layered over it.
I just really like the look of this with the apartment a bit more.
I felt like the pink one, the pink one was amazing, but it also wasn't the most cohesive.
I just felt like this one kind of matches the vibe a little bit more.
It seems a bit more sophisticated.
I'm going to put the coffee table, move the couch, and this is going to be the rug situation.
I just went ahead and placed the chair and the lamp, which look incredible in this corner
here.
As you can see, they're actually blocking this door.
But the thing is, is that they only use this closet here, which it's a closet for like
random storage.
They have their suitcases in there and they say they barely ever access it unless they're
traveling.
So I figured, why don't we just put this chair in front of it, kind of camouflage the door
because we weren't allowed to actually paint the doors, only the wall.
Look how cute it looks from this corner here, from the entryway when you walk in.
And then there's a dark brown here.
It is coming together so nicely.
I'm very excited.
So let's just add all of the finishing touches.
My ex-roommate, Abby, had this and it's so, so pretty.
It's one of those like brass gilded frames you guys have seen me use a lot before.
But we turned it into a mirror and it looks amazing.
She had it prior, so we just repurposed it right by the front door too.
That way when you walk in, you can check yourself.
And also how nice is this lighting?
Like to take photos.
Alright guys, so we are basically done with the apartment.
It looks amazing.
Kind of showing you a sneak peek right now, but I'm really, really excited to share it
with you guys.
But of course I want to do a reveal with Abby and Nicolette because they're getting back
from Joshua Tree in like an hour, which I'm not sure if it's going to be like too dark
out when they film.
I'm literally opening their door right now so I can get natural light to film this outro.
Oh my gosh, you guys, we still have light.
It's still light out.
They just got back right now.
Yeah.
Hi, how is Joshua Tree?
Wait, don't look in the window yet.
You can't look inside.
Wait, how should I do this?
I'm scared.
Okay.
Then stay right here.
And then I guess, how do I do this?
I've never done this before.
Oh my gosh, I'm scared.
You can look at your apartment in three, two, one.
Oh my gosh, this is amazing.
Does it look the same?
It looks like 40 times better than what we had.
Oh, awesome.
Do you like it?
I love it.
You've never had a table.
We've never had a table.
We've never had a coffee table.
It was kind of like a little bit of a challenge because the space was like a kitchen inside
of a living room.
So I wanted to divide it to where it like, this felt like the kitchen and dining area,
you know?
And then this felt like the living space, you know?
Corby, how do you like it?
What are your thoughts?
He blends in nicely with that chair.
You're going to walk home and see him sitting there one day, just sitting perfectly.
Oh, I definitely will.
We already feel so much at home.
Welcome.
All right.
Thank you guys for letting me redo your guys' apartment.
It was so much fun.
It was a little bit scary.
It's always scary doing like a reveal and also taking over someone's apartment for three
days.
But it was fun staying with Corby.
So I think it was good.
So happy with the outcome.
I think it looks amazing.
And I also want to thank Desenio and Article for all of the good artwork and furniture
in the place.
