Nissan fans, big day here with Cars Unlocked.
Because today, we're taking a trip back in time.
If you saw the title right, behind me is the 1987 Nissan 300ZX.
The fair lady.
We're going to go through the ins and outs and take a trip back to the 80s.
Quick little history lesson before we begin here guys.
This is really the first generation for the Nissan Z with this 300ZX.
Where Nissan started to separate itself from the Datsun brand.
Z31 model was produced from 1983 to 1989.
And quickly became Nissan's highest selling Z car.
This specific one has that 3 liter V6 engine.
With these kind of half pop-up headlights that you can see.
And really the first year that they added that Z emblem.
Like I said, this one is the 1987.
So it's 2 years before I was even born.
Now if you're interested in this vehicle, this specific one is actually for sale.
It's in phenomenal condition and it has a lot of original parts.
Basically the whole thing is original.
So if you're into this car, make sure you guys comment or reach out to me with the info in the description.
And we can set you up with the seller.
And if you're just a fan of Nissan vehicles, subscribe.
Because we have a ton of Nissan reviews on our channel.
And hit that like button if you like traveling back to the 80's.
You guys know I love seeing this Z badging.
And it's right on these 15 inch aluminum alloy rims.
In the 80's the 300ZX was manufactured with a 3 liter V6 engine.
Giving you 160 horsepower and 174 pounds feet of torque.
This one comes equipped with a 4 speed automatic transmission.
The popular ones are those turbos which you can get with the manual transmission.
This one is just the regular automatic.
But let's check out the interior.
Checking out the interior guys.
This is all still the original interior here.
You can see these 2 tone seats here.
Really comfortable.
This one is the 2 passenger.
And just blue.
That's one thing that jumps out to me right away.
A lot of blue.
And that's how these older models were kind of built.
Lots of colors were used on the interior.
Unlike today where you basically only get a few interior choices.
So I love the inside here.
Really the only thing that's not factory is the radio.
We have a Kenwood sound system in here.
All of our controls are power here.
We have power adjustable mirrors.
Power windows.
You still have the manual locks.
Here's our heating controls.
And you have these 2 sliders for your fan strength and your temperature.
And really this is one of the only few things that's not factory is the sound system.
The owner added an aftermarket Kenwood radio sound system.
Not quite a convertible.
But you get this cool little T-top here.
Where you can remove the glass panels.
Which we've set aside for the video.
And then you can put them back on.
Come included with the vehicle.
And they do have the covers as well to keep them safe while you're driving.
I love the style in here with the back.
You have the brake lights going all the way across the back bumper.
Our Nissan logo.
Very retro.
And I'm a big fan of this type of stuff.
Nice exhaust down below.
Let's hear it.
That sounds phenomenal.
Now when you lift the trunk.
There is a subwoofer back here that was added as well.
To make the sound system a little stronger.
So there's not much room in the trunk.
But you do have quite a bit of space here.
Under the cover there.
And you can pull this back.
To hide your valuables.
Cars Unlocked.
Fun fact.
You might be wondering how the Fairlady name came about.
Because the name Fairlady is synonymous with Nissan sports cars.
And Japanese sports cars.
So fun fact.
In about 1961.
The president of Nissan.
Sorry if I'm butchering this.
But Katsuji Kawamata was in the U.S.
When he had a chance to go to the Broadway show.
And see My Fairlady.
It was super popular at the time.
And he decided to make the car with that Fairlady name.
And launch the car in the U.S.
And hope the popularity of the musical.
Reflected in the sales of the Fairlady.
And you know what?
He was right.
Because the Nissan Fairlady.
When it was first launched in the 60's.
Was a big sales success for Datsun and for Nissan.
So what do you guys think about the Fairlady Z?
Nice little Sunday cruiser.
Super fun.
If I had the type of money.
I need to sell a bit more cars to purchase this thing.
But I love to take this thing around on a Sunday.
You know you drive it to a wedding.
Things like that.
The previous owner mentioned that this car has never seen rain.
So it's never been rained on.
It's in phenomenal shape.
I'm super happy that I had the opportunity to go back in time.
And I could share it with you guys.
Well that's a wrap guys.
Thanks so much for watching another video.
