AUSTRALIA \\ MOOMBA FEST MELBOURNE // VLOG #46

It's the start of Moomba Festival. I don't know what that stands for but I'll take a picture of it later. Moomba means get together and have fun. We're wandering around down by the river to check out the first day of the festival. I studied at University of Arizona. Bear down! And where's the Go Ducks? Go Ducks. These trees are one of my favorite trees. The bottle tree, they get bigger when there's lots of water and smaller when there's no water. They're really cool. This is a bird catcher tree. It produces a sticky fruit so that little birds go to eat the fruit and they get stuck to it and then they die. The fruit falls off to the ground and the birds fertilize the seedling for the tree. Horrific! We're just here watching Water Ski Jump. There are well over a million people on site. How do you stay safe in Australia Kate? Swim between the flags. We're at day three of Moomba. We skipped day two. We're doing the Birdman Fest where they launch the flying machines off into the river. I don't think they fly very well though. We shall see. We're down for the final day of Moomba Fest. We're at Priscilla Queen of the Desert in the Regent Theatre. Just another beautiful sunny day in Melbourne and we're heading out to the National Gallery. It's part of this art exhibit. They give us each a flower sticker and then we get to stick it anywhere except for the ceiling and the windows. All of these things have a number and a texture and then you smell them. They all have a different smell. And if you do all of them all the way around then you get a phrase. That sounds like a lot of work. Cool. You want to get your phrase? Well, only if they give us the answer. It's familiar but I'm not sure what the smell is. Dog too. I like it, it's so eclectic. Three weeks in beautiful Melbourne. It's easy to see why it's constantly rated as the world's most livable city. From the trams to the waterways to the amazing theatre programs. It was wonderful. I didn't want to leave. It was time for us to leave because we were so comfortable there we even stopped touring. We're like, no, we just live here now. Melbourne, we'll have to go back to that.
