They'll see this as a very big game and I'm interested to see how they're gonna
approach it and how the game turns out because sometimes these games can be a
little bit flat and as we know that there's there's not a lot of first-team
regulars in the Celtic team but it's a good chance for Gordon Strachan to see
one or two of the the players who need to make the step up and come from within
as he's been talking about so it's gonna be interesting to see the players who
may not start on Sunday but will have a real good contribution here today.
Well we're almost ready for the off in the evening in Yokohama. In the morning
back home. So it's Yokohama Marinos who kick us off. Struggling in the J-league
at the moment but they've been talking about this match for a while. Barcelona
and Juventus played friendlies here last year. When Yokohama played Juventus here last
year there was a mass brawl on the pitch and also a minor earthquake towards the
end of the match. We'll be hoping to avoid both today that's for sure.
Kurihara's cross. Hirano. Oh it's a decent cross. And it's a goal already.
Oshima. Hideo Oshima has given Yokohama an early lead.
I was gonna say it didn't look good from early on when the ball got played down
outside Kamara and then they moved the ball across to get into the wide left
area and they look decent as far as going forward. It's a nice run. Checks
back in. Great ball played in. But Snow gets caught there because it's a standing
start for him. He's caught in there. It's just basically a...
Yonezi. Tanaka. And here he is again.
It's a foul by Kurihara.
We only have the one player at the World Cup. Nakazawa and he got himself injured a
couple of weeks ago. Just about ready to play again. But not to start. Tanaka and
David Marshall is called into action to push that one away from Yonezi. And again
they're allowed to play across the Celtic defence. All the makings of a
preseason friendly or a friendly. It's just because of the pace of the game.
Well they're trying to get into their stride again and it's been kept in by
Shimizu. And he has to do that. He has to prove to Gordon Strachan that he can
play in the starting eleven. Daisuke Oku. Gordon Strachan's first season in
charge. With all three of the big guns winning at the weekend. Yes they've all
laid down their markers for the season. Here's Nakamura who scored with that
stunning free kick against Kimara. Tanaka. And again Tanaka racing away.
Lennon keeping him occupied. About to be too bothered by that effort from
Oshima. Again Yokohama pick the ball up at the edge of their box.
Tanaka against Kimara. Celtic offside flag is up. It's not going to count for Yonezi.
Through to David Marshall. Enomoto. Tanaka. At the moment Ian there's no real attempt from
Celtic to try and get in behind. Still only the one goal in it though came in
the opening minutes. Ayuma, Tanaka with a cross and this could be ominous and it's
a second and it's Shimizu who has powered that home. Yokohama double their
lead into Celtic side who've offered very very little. Again Ian I can't believe that.
And very simple ball played wide. Again the wide position. No pressure on the
cross. No one picking up the midfield runner. It's a great ball in. He takes it
very very well. Nakamura would love to find the top corner. Back on familiar territory.
On the way out this though and a few waiting for a cross. Nakamura who started the SPL season with that
cracking free kick to end any hopes of a Kilmarnock comeback. Nakamura does indeed go for goal and isn't that far away.
Looked to me like the keeper got a touch to that. But he's magnificent from, it's fully 30 yards out.
I think maybe just fingertips to the ball there from the goalkeeper.
Offside. Travis being sprung. This is Nasu and only two Celtic players back. Delivery was poor and that's a let off for Celtic.
By Hirana. Here's Magidi. Nakamura to his right. Ryden ahead of him. Nakamura is the man he's put in.
Ryden and Thompson have got themselves into the box. It's Ryden.
It's away by Kawhi but probably the best Celtic have offered in this first half.
Yeah absolutely. Magidi again. He has been the brightest player I think for a turn and take it first time.
Didn't quite catch it. Well it's half time and not exactly a happy return for Shinsuke Nakamura so far.
Very much so he wants them to say to him, look give me a problem. Tell me that you deserve to be in the team.
But I think even more important than that, Celtic's reputation has got to be proved.
They've got to win games out there to develop that reputation and income that will come with it.
The restart with Scott and with Ian.
Well let's hope the Celtic do give it a go in this second half.
But they trail by two goals to nil and it might have been more.
Another forcing offside decision went in their favour.
Yokohama signalling their second half intentions straight away. Celtic deal with that between balls.
The man in charge of Yokohama Takeshi Okada. He is in his fourth season.
I think Gordon Strachan handles the negativity surrounding games like these very, very well.
Trying to always keep the thing positive. Keep his players positive.
That's the bat from Nakamura.
That was there from Thompson, Brett Valera.
Into the side netting.
And Alan Thompson will be rather relieved that Yemesi couldn't quite find his range.
For Lennon. Nakamura.
Decent ball that. This is Riordan.
Thompson has got himself into the box.
A little bit of vision from Nakamura.
Riordan peels off well into the snow.
Get on the ball in those areas just outside the box.
And then you get the chance for Riordan and for Migidi to make the little runs.
The little darting runs in between the defenders.
Riordan has rescued that and now Nakamura.
A man from Japan.
He's set something up for Thompson but it's calmly done.
A mistake by Inomoto.
That was good play by Lawson.
He's done really well. He's set things up here for Migidi.
Riordan has got himself into the box.
Migidi cannot get past Daisuke Nasu.
I'm not sure if Gordon was just scratching his thigh there or if he was saying that someone had a hamstring problem.
And the fans who used to adore him stand in applause.
They applaud our cult hero in these parts.
Nakamura replaced by Rocco Quinn.
Who scored on tour in the USA against New England Revolution.
That's 65 minutes for Nakamura.
This trip is all about a course.
He was one man delighted to be making the trip back home.
Despite the 24 hours spent on a plane.
He's one player that will have a chance of playing at the weekend against Harge.
A rare glimpse of Teddy Bjarnason.
You know you've got a long way to go when your squad number is 56 really.
But here go Yokohama.
And it's been whacked over by Kano.
Ueno. Sakata.
And again but the free kick is going to be given.
Kano on the receiving end.
Not ready for that.
Yokohama have a third.
Kano goes from bad to worse really this trip for Celtic.
Just seem to come from nowhere there Ian.
It's a great strike.
Neil Lennon. Celtic going to leave Japan with something.
No. Kurihara.
Sealed an impressive.
But it's no.
It's going to skip away from Raiden.
And that should more or less be that.
You would suspect.
There goes the whistle.
And Shinsuke Nakamura's return to his former club Yokohama.
Ends with a comfortable victory for his former club.
Who were never really bothered.
This evening by a largely second string Celtic side.
Who didn't really come and have a go in truth.
Hashima and Shimizu with first half headers.
Put Yokohama in control.
And then that free kick from Kano in the second half.
Wrapped it up.
And it was all about this man.
Shinsuke Nakamura.
Celtic's trip here. Part of the deal.
