We're now at the next point, which I think you're gonna like a little bit, I don't know how it's gonna look on video, but look what happened.
Look at this, it's a glacier, the Jokulsalón glacier.
It's all full of icebergs, all ice plates, but if we have ice, right here, there's ice, like pieces of glass.
And all the ice here.
It's a huge glacier, the water's like no, warm, and that, it's like 200 square kilometers, or something like that, or less.
And it's quite young, I mean, for what it is a glacier, which normally seems to be like millions of years old, this one specifically is like 80 years old.
It formed in the 1930s, and it was forming that way because the ice was coming off the glaciers that are down there, the mountains, and it was bringing down the ice.
And then it was forming like a kind of lagoon, all the ice was accumulating here, and then over there on the left there's a rio, there's a pequeño río that already reaches the Atlantic Ocean.
But these pieces of ice can be up to five years here, before they reach the sea.
And I don't know if you noticed, but a lot of the ice is black, and that's because it's full of volcanic ash, or sea, with the rest coming down from there from the mountain with the ash, and then when they get here many of them are black.
But the ice is a very nice color, not just the white one or even the transparent one that has very little density, but the blue one is very nice.
And I think that on camera you don't capture what we notice and feel now we're here in person, because it's typical, you see a lot on TV and so on, and surprises, but it's that when you see him in person it's incredible.
What do you think, José?
That's a waste.
Work a little more, uncle, and then you don't talk to me, and people tell me if I can't let you talk or what.
We'll see closer in a minute, there I leave it, there I leave it.
Amphibious boat, it turns out we were going to take a Zodiac to take us here between the icebergs of the glacier, but it turns out that because of the very bad weather, they've cancelled all the tours of the Zodiac, and well, at least we get our money back and we get to go to the amphibious.
So good, at least something will be seen.
Although the experience is not the same, because we were supposed to go on a private plane, and now we're going here with all the money singing Manowar.
Dinner included, too.
We're going to eat sardines in a can.
Says you can't dance here either.
Well, I went back to the car, I had finished the other battery, and some small images he recorded with the mobile.
I'm sorry I didn't do the zodiac, but let's see, in parts.
Honestly, both José and I think it's good news that the money has been returned.
I totally agree.
Because basically, as you've seen here next to the coast, or sea right up to what is land, the icebergs are right next to it.
Oh, come on, motherfucker, to take some pictures is great, it's perfect.
So, the amphibious, the amphibious boat, you give a turn by part, the glacier, not everything, or sea, is a pequeña vuelta.
And it doesn't even come close, because of course, the icebergs, as you know, are 10% what's shown, and 90% is below, so it can be very wide.
O sea, you don't know how it is the way it is.
And as the girl explained, sometimes when icebergs break, and when they break, the whole iceberg has to balance, everything that's left.
Then, you can turn around to keep your balance.
So, since you don't know if they're going to break in, how they're going to get out, because it's dangerous to get too close, then you keep that safe distance.
So, we're not closer than you can get, for example, there on the shore.
And you also go with a lot of people inside, and you also because it's more complicated to take pictures and such, and I don't know, at the time of enjoying it, no more.
I don't recommend it, but the truth is that the amphibious got us free, because the area we had rented, due to bad weather, we couldn't do it.
And then they gave us back 100% of the amount, which was about 65 euros, and they gave us the amphibious trip, which was 40.
I don't see what those 40's are worth.
If you want to do it, well, it's not bad, but you'll basically see the same thing you can see from the shore.
One advantage, we saw seals, in camera I don't know if you can see them, because they look much smaller, but you could see the seals swimming there, and that's very cool, and that's what you didn't see from the shore.
And that part was great, and that part came out for free, because we can't complain.
But also the Zodiac, because it has to be closer, because being a Zodiac, it has less depth of field and stuff, so you can get closer to the iceberg.
But even if you don't get close enough to touch them and stuff, it's a more personal experience, too, because you're like four or five people in the Zodiac.
But still, well, think about whether you're worth it or not, and I'll tell you that here from the shore you can see the icebergs great, so if all you want to do is see them up close, take pictures and all that, being here is worth it.
And nothing, we'll just take a little more tour around here, take some pictures and continue on the road, it's getting pretty hot already, but good, it's not raining much at the moment either.
Next to Jokulsalón del Glaciar I recommend you come to the beach where all the icebergs already arrive, because there is a beach also of black volcanic sand, but it is full of pieces of iceberg on the coast.
See, you can already touch all the icebergs, some huge chunks of ice and it's super cool that, right here on the beach, on the black beach.
And that's right up ahead, so it's worth a lot of money, and there's a very cool bridge, so this whole area is great.
There's some blue iceberg here and there.
You've been stranded on the island, tío.
Well, here you see how the sunlight enters and the sea water joins there with the fresh water from the glacier.
The sea, in the middle, brings together salt water and fresh water and that makes there a great variety of fish in this part of the glacier.
From what we've been told there are salmon, trout and I don't know, a few more kinds of fish out there, but very curious.
In the glacier the water temperature is between 2 and 5 degrees and there are people who go swimming, it's not recommended obviously.
And if you go swimming you'll probably die in about 15 minutes or less.
Obviously if you put on some super-resistant new shoes, it's just as good, not like the typical Arctic divers and stuff.
But swim like that, because that, you will endure very very little time.
We've come here to finish the day, to have dinner in Hoffen, which is a fishing village that's north of the Jokulsalón glacier, where we've been before.
It's got some barquitos and a fishy smell that goes backwards.
And well, the restaurants were also quite careful, we went to one that was like the best one was so expensive,
I was planning on bocatas, hamburgers and stuff like that.
And yet we have come out with 15-16 euros each for a sandwich.
Well, they weren't bad, it was one like meat and the other like gambas.
And nothing, we also tried the national soft drink here, the Fanta de naranja type, which is lappelsin, and it tastes practically the same but with a lot of gas.
And nothing, because now we're going to the hostel which is a little further north, in Cliff, so nothing, a little more car and we're going to go there.
We just arrived after an hour and a half to the little town where we're going to spend tonight.
As you can see, it's a busy place, a great atmosphere here at 10 at night, well, almost 11 already.
And this is our hostel, the Cliff Hostel, see what it is.
They sent me an email this morning saying there was a problem over the weekend and that there was no hot water.
So it's great because we can't shower tomorrow, so let's see what alternative they give us.
I think they'd like to send us a pool here to bathe, we'll see how the room is.
We're inside the hostel, as you can see we've again touched the presidential suite, there's practically no room even for the suitcases.
It seemed incredible to find smaller dwellings than we had in Japan, but yes, the truth is that it is possible.
The truth is the hostel is pretty good, we're just going to spend the night, but it has common areas with sofas, it has a kitchen, here is also the shower that is broken.
So they gave us free tickets to the pool next door.
So what we're gonna do is wake up quickly, go to the pool with the bags and get in the pool with the backpack.
We got a free pass, so we'll use the shower and swimming pool, and then we'll start the day.
That's all, so nothing, thank you so much for getting here, I hope you liked the videos, leave me the comments with whatever you want.
