(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Newcastle - Liverpool

And the epicentre of a very special football story this season. This evening's visitors are Liverpool. But they're hoping the real fun is yet to come. Liverpool scored 50 goals more than Newcastle last season. This time around. Here is Miquel Almenar. Alisson with a brilliant save. Stiff arm for the Brazilian goalkeeper. Gomez. Nunez is the target here. Brilliant first touch control. And Darwin Nunez scores. Magical touch from the Uruguayan to bring it under his spell. I mean, Pope at this stage is exposed. And there's very little he can do with that power. Anthony Taylor, the on-field referee. Check complete. This goal is going to stand. And Liverpool off to a very good start at St. James' Park. He's looked so composed, so mature for a teenager in recent times. Liverpool will hope that he's able to run off the knock he's picked up. It's Salah. That's lovely for Gakpo. Liverpool get their second. There's no flag. Gakpo, two goals in two games. Perfectly. And this time, no hint of a handball. It's just whether he was on or offside. And it looked on. Cody Gakpo. Brought to Liverpool to score goals. Will be thrilled to be. Mid-lights now. His Liverpool career feels very much up and running now. Cody Gakpo. The elevation carried it all the way through to Alisson, who has spotted the run of Mo Salah. And Nick Pope is in trouble. He's handled it outside the penalty area. Oh, he's going to be in big trouble here. It's going to be a red card for the Newcastle goalkeeper. We've seen this all season. Remember the Manchester City game. And Alisson clearance for Salah on the counter-attack. He's made a mistake in trying to do that. Hit it. And then he knew it was going to break for Salah. And he had to get his hand on it. And what a mess. Can that mix very quickly? They certainly have a great chance here now. Alexander-Arnold in. Gakpo's header was untargeted. To Bravko. This has been the easiest day at the office for Eddie Howe in his Newcastle career. Oh, it's rattled the crossbar. Second time in this first half that Newcastle hit that bar. Robertson. He knows he's got Salah at the far post. But the Uruguayan kicks it on himself. To Bravko with the serve. Robertson. Diogo Jota. So close. Jota. Disconceal it now. And it's cleared away off the line. Chad Byrne denies Diogo Jota what would be the cherry on top for Liverpool. Liverpool, the only team who have beaten Newcastle in the Premier League this season. The last team to win here in the league against Newcastle at St. James' Park. Jurgen Klopp's side have done it again.
