Hey, what's up everybody?
Ryan Tannehill here, QB with the Tennessee Titans,
and this is my game day routine.
What a throw by Tannehill!
Touchdown, Tennessee!
So your standard 12 o'clock kick,
essential time is 8 a.m. wake up for me,
do a little stretching, go over the game plan,
read over all my notes from the week,
all my tips and reminders,
FaceTime my family, get to see my kids.
Then shower, and then away games is always a suit.
Home games, it's just more relaxed,
just a casual outfit, whatever.
My wife ice for me, she's my stylist.
I don't have the drip like some of the other guys, man.
I love watching those guys
and seeing what they're gonna come in with every week.
I wanna look good, I wanna be up to date,
but I'm not trying to set the bar or anything like that.
I almost like the old dad on the team now, you know?
Go downstairs, by this time it's usually
around nine o'clock or so,
have breakfast usually with some of my teammates down there.
Always go with eggs, hash browns, possibly an omelet,
and some sort of bagel or muffin,
depending on what the selection is.
I like to scour it over and pick the best looking option.
Then head off to the stadium about 9.25ish usually.
It's about a 15, 20 minute drive.
Creating some music, some rap, little country,
old school R&B, Christian music,
just whatever I'm feeling for the day.
Cruising the stadium, just kinda clear my head
and get my mind right, ready to go.
Sometimes a teammate will ride with me,
occasionally throughout my career,
but definitely driving myself, my own car.
I'm probably one of the later guys to the stadium.
Like away games, I'm always on the late bus.
You know, I don't like sitting around in the locker room.
Some guys like to get there hours early.
I don't really like that anymore.
I like getting there, getting prepared, getting focused,
and then once I'm there, it's go time.
If it's an afternoon kick, three o'clock,
then I'll go home for a couple hours,
spend some time with my family,
eat a quick lunch there, then head to the stadium.
My kids are young, so I have a three-year-old
and a one-year-old.
Might be wrestling on the ground with those guys
or playing baseball with my son,
playing cars, Paw Patrol, whatever.
Kinda clear my head in a different way
and get some quality time.
Get to the stadium, usually a little before 10.
Usually have a meeting with the offense,
quick meeting, just gotta check in at 10 o'clock,
get my ankles taped, quickly get dressed,
and go out to the field, usually out on the field
about an hour and 50 minutes before kickoff,
which is 10, 10, 10, 15, usually.
Take a quick lap around the field,
go through my stretching routine,
quick warm-up, and start throwing.
Going through my throwing routine, getting loose.
About that time, my receivers are out there
and we start going, man.
We throw a little pat-and-go, hit about four or five routes.
It's all about routine for me,
so I do the same exact thing every week.
From the order we throw the routes
to the order of my stretching routine,
it's all exactly the same.
The amount of throws I take in my pregame warm-up,
I start with my feet balanced,
and feet staggered this way, feet staggered this way.
I do it in practice every day,
It's all the same, week in and week out.
Finish up, dap up my receivers,
and quick word in their ear, back to the locker room,
get dressed, and get ready for kick.
Let's play football at Nissan Stadium.
I'm Ryan Tannehill, quarterback, Tennessee Titans,
and that was my game day routine.
