Kyle Brandt breaks down Giants vs. Packers in Week 5: Saquon Barkley will decide the game

There's a huge match-up 9.30 a.m. Eastern Sunday morning from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Saquon Barkley and the Giants square off against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers exclusively right here on NFL Network and you can catch it streaming on NFL Plus. For the latest on that game we're gonna bring in NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport. Ian, the latest on the Giants side of things Sunday morning their game in London injuries that we need to know about quarterback in particular please. I'm trying to come to grips with that music that led into me that was really theatrical and majestic really really turned the page from whatever the world we watched last night to what whatever in the world I'm going to talk about right now. But let's talk about Daniel Jones the Giants starting quarterback dealing with a sprained ankle from last week and I think you know when you watched it happen pretty bad Jones actually ended up coming back in the game that was the first glimmer of optimism and really it has been nothing but optimism throughout the entire week he's been limited in Wednesday limited on Thursday but each time he has practiced he has come out really no worse for wear I would say it's looking pretty good right now for Daniel Jones to be out there on the field with the Giants we'll see what his level of mobility is but he is at as of right now expected to play all of that good news however the bad part he's not gonna have a bunch of his weapons and really this has been one of the themes for the Giants the entire year a bunch of nagging injuries to their past catchers Kadarius Tony who's got just two catches for zero yards this year played in just 12 games in his young career he did not make the trip dealing with a hamstring injury did not practice on Thursday he is out for Sunday's game and then Kenny Galladay dealing with an MCL sprain also did not make the trip to London been struggling to catch on anyway and and figure out a way to be productive in the not going to happen this week he is also not gonna play all right Ian thank you we appreciate it we'll talk to you later on in the show and we're also going to talk to Stacy Dills who's been hanging in London covering those two three and one teams leading into this game right everybody drink some mouthwash let's get rid of that game last night okay we can do that okay let's set the scene quick thoughts London Sunday morning there you go what do we got let's let's good morning football. Matt LaFleur goes up against Wink Martindale you're saying okay Peter you're going to the the head coach. 2018 the Ravens which defense was coached by Wink Martindale faced up against Tennessee Titans whose offense was run by Matt LaFleur they sacked Tannehill 10 times and the Titans had 120 yards Wink yeah 10 times Wink absolutely destroyed a LaFleur offense sent the dogs and it wasn't ready or capable of stopping what was at its its mercy here I think that is real when a defensive coordinator is like oh I'm going up against Matt LaFleur I own that dude I'm curious to see if the Giants send the dogs and if we get a different version of this game than everyone expects I think everyone expects the Packers in a walk maybe it is uh Wink Martindale sending the boys at Rodgers and if those receivers aren't ready to turn around at the right time Rodgers getting hit he's getting hit hard in London so I I would say the Wink factor is something I'm looking at what way is that ponytail going to go in London is it a ponytail I feel like it's just like a hair that kind of comes out of that I'm expecting a whole like Peaky Blinders Peaky Blinders Tommy Shelby outfit getting off the point like I'm I'm expecting it all like yes that's what he has he loves whiskey just ask him no doubt about it like you said Wink Martindale sent the house got a got after Mariota and those guys in Tennessee the only difference will be Mariota will not be under center for the Green Bay Packers I said Tannehill Tannehill Mariota whoever yes it's not Aaron Rodgers he'll be the one under center and like Bill Belichick I said last week he was just like in the end Rodgers was just too good and that's what it comes down to if we get the Rodgers that we got after he threw the pick six and responded got the ball to Alan Lazar just made play after play to win that game they go across the pond and we get that Rodgers that shows up 9 30 in the morning it doesn't matter what Wink does what the Giants do on defense the Green Bay Packers will be walking away coming back on that plane and like you said he likes his whiskey it's a long flight home pour one up have a drink and enjoy that's that's going to be a hell of a plan that's the sole plan um with due respect to Wink and you know I started the show at Wink Martindale I know yesterday you did with Melvin Gordon it was great I went Alec Pierce yesterday Alec Pierce he had a good game um I here's the Giants can win this game and I laid this out in the week Peter you're not here it's very simple in fact I have videotape of Saquon Barkley winning this game let's roll it here's what we're going to need from Saquon guys we're going to need about 296 yards like Adrian Peterson breaking the single game record against the Chargers by Sean Merriman this is Adrian Peterson going for nearly three bills against the Chargers Saquon has that kind of thing in him I really do he does that he has that kind of potential and those kind of numbers if it's the Davis web show uh Peter due respect to the Wink I'm giving you a little wink across the table it's going to have to be Saquon big Saquon laugh Saquon right I love Kadarius Tony as much as the next guy I hear he's on the mend but if the Giants want to have the same sole plan on the way home Saquon Barkley 296 yards who's in sole plan Cedric the Entertainer I think Snoop is in I'm not sure Kevin Hart's all right that works that works it's fine what do you got Jamie um I just can't wait for the scene in London like just the cheese heads like tilted to the side uh Aaron Nagler who's a great follow for a Packers coverage just landed he's like Heathrow is just like crawling with Packers and Giants fan like the arrivals gate it's fantastic yes Stacey Dales is there here's a tweet customs is a parade of Packers and Giants here it's fantastic Aaron you're over there it's tremendous that's the scene and what is that going to be like the game was great between the Vikings and Saints there's a lot of juice in the stadium maybe because there were two 60-yard field goal attempts but I'm not sure but Packers Giants it's a classic matchup if it was played in Timbuktu people will watch it and they'll go they will how about Rogers this week he's like I wish we got there earlier so I'd go to a pub he literally said that I think he was dead earnest he's like I want to go get him I hear him I went this last week I finally got to visit a pub it was awesome went down twice never got to visit how'd you like it I loved it yeah I know you did I was there you went to five in one night all right coming up on Good Morning Football what stars will shine the brightest in football outfit change do you like our jackets they're available you can buy these uh neweracap.com go ahead purchase these things I every team is available except for if you're Jason McCourty yeah I got right but they also have just like a New Era I feel like you know you go to the grocery store and you want mom to buy you like the frosted flakes or the rice krispies and you come home and it's not a box it's just a bag a bag and it just says flakes on it says rice crunchies you didn't get a team you got New Era which I also kind of like yeah it's nice yeah it's nice uh Rob Lowe likes that jacket I hear very neutral yeah I love this jacket uh Giants uh have four Super Bowl victories and you get all the patches on this F as you can see this is the jacket to wear right now back has the logo this is bad you know I got I got Buffalo we don't we don't have the four Super Bowl patches no Vikings and Bills kind of naked on the patches guys yeah but actually mine has a Super Bowl 57 patch on it though and some silica gel do not eat we're gonna do these we're gonna do these in a mad minute all right let's keep these on and let's roll mad five officially kicked off last night and we've got a great slate of games coming to us on Sunday so let's break down some of those best matchups you have 60 seconds on the clock gotta share the ball and we're excited for each game let's roll first up uh NFC South Battle Falcons heading to Tampa Bay to face off against the Buccaneers Jay what are you most excited for oh most excited for Brady is undefeated against the Falcons yes he defeated them in the Super Bowl but this Buccaneers defense was bad last week and I want to see them bounce back and have a good game I know Atlanta they ran the ball it was nice rah rah my guy Arthur Smith got to win but I think the Buccaneers bounce back on defense are we ready for a two and three Tom Brady is that possible Peter I want to take my time and give it to you as long as you allocate it to Tyler Algier please come on what do you got Tyler Algier is a fifth round pick out of Brigham Young University he's going to be toting the rock for this team he played linebacker and running back in college is an absolute tank and he's going to be the dude that ends up getting the the bulk of these carries with Caleb Huntley for the Falcons but this is the motley crew that the Falcons are employing right now and you said they're 10-0 uh Brady's 10-0 against the Falcons if the Falcons win this game they're in first place the three and two record and they are ahead of the 10 Bay Buccaneers going up against his former team for 10 years for the Falcons Steelers head up to Buffalo to take on the Bills what are we most excited for in this matchup I know Tomlin's not excited to see Josh Allen yeah I'm excited to see picket going to play in front of this Buffalo crowd Bills mafia I've had some incredible games they're going in as a Patriots as a Patriots player they throw some kind of crazy things on the field you can google that don't want to go into the details but that atmosphere is going to be unreal for Kenny Pickett talking about I know I'm well aware believe me I know we all know uh you know is all the attention on the Bills and Josh Allen really interesting Kenny Pickett in this game we're going to be watching Kenny Pickett for a long time one way or another how do you stand up in your first start at Buffalo against the Bills machine the Josh Allen thing I've said it again I think that he may have to throw 50 passes in this game it might get completely out of hand it's a 14 and a half point spread that does a lot I want to see what Kenny Pickett is made of because he's going to take some lumps in this one can he keep getting back up 14 and a half is an interesting number the Bills are averaging just 14 and a half points per game allowed second in the NFL as much as we talk about Allen and Diggs their defense has been lights out long day ahead for Kenny as opposed to the Steelers defense who are now 0-7 without T.J. Watts since when he served since 2017 that's not a good clip all right
