It's the shed vlog! We finally took the shed over to the allotment plot and set it up. Of course, the wind got in the way, so stay tuned for part 2 when we return and complete the build.
Dave and I almost killed each other doing this. The instructions were awful and we are not the best at any kind of diy or building of things, so I'm pretty proud of our attempt!

Good morning, everybody.
Welcome back to my channel.
If you're new around here, my name is Emma,
and on this channel, I document my allotment,
my brand new allotment plot,
which I got for the first time this year,
well, just last year, and also everyday family life.
So do subscribe to my channel
if you're interested in watching my progress
or everyday family life in the UK.
Today is a really exciting day
because we are putting up the shed of the allotment plot.
I've been waiting for this day for so long.
We've had this shed sitting in our house
for the best part of a week, and it's been half term.
So you can imagine how difficult it's been
to keep the kids away from it
because obviously there's so many splinters and stuff.
But today is the day we're putting up the shed.
So Dave's gone to get the van.
The idea is to put the shed into the van,
drive the van to the allotment, unload the shed,
take the van back, bring the kids over.
It's complicated.
It's like that, it's a bit like that riddle
about the chicken and the fox and the hen,
and you have to get it all across the thing.
We're not quite sure how it's gonna work,
but we're gonna do it.
We're gonna do it, aren't we, Tom?
It's a wooden shed, that's right.
We're very excited to put it up.
We're gonna have to put screws in here.
We are, probably nails as well.
But we haven't got the shed base up and running yet.
I think we've got to cut it to size or something.
We might get splinters.
Yeah, well, make sure you wear gloves then.
Make sure you wear gloves.
Actually, go find your gloves, Tom.
Huh?
Go find your gloves so you can help us.
So yeah, so we're gonna get down there,
put it all together.
We've got all the equipment that we could possibly need,
probably more than what we need.
And I'm just so excited and trying not to talk too fast,
because when I get excited, I talk really, really fast.
But yeah, I'm very excited.
So here we go.
Little bit of an issue in that one of the panels
does not fit in the van.
This panel is too big for the van.
So we're gonna have to figure out a way
of getting it to the plot.
I think we're gonna have to walk it over, to be honest,
but it's just gonna be fun.
So we're gonna have to walk this great big bit
over to the plot for the rest of it in the van.
That's gonna be fun, isn't it?
It's gonna be impossible to do.
Oh, here we go.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
We're gonna go back and get the rest now.
Yeah, I'm coming.
Okay, I'm coming.
This is such a nightmare.
Can somebody help?
Wait, where's Deco?
Right, we've got to go back
and get the rest of the shed, Tom.
I don't know if you'll be able to help with this bit,
because it's really heavy, kids.
Appreciate the enthusiasm.
But yeah, we've actually got to carry a piece of wood here
by hand without a car.
Bloody hell.
What are we thinking?
You're not taking the brunt of the weight, are you?
50 more to go.
This was actually the easy bit,
because now we've got to carry a piece of shed
over from our house.
It'll be worth it when it's all here.
That's what I keep telling everyone.
Everyone's a bit deflated,
so we're gonna go home and get some food.
My poor family.
What do I put them through?
Right, guys, we're sucking ourselves up,
because the only way we can get through this
if we can think of getting that other shed panel
to the allotment is to bloody carry it along the road.
It's gonna take us about half an hour, 40 minutes.
So we're psyching ourselves up for it.
We just had a bacon sandwich.
You know, sometimes I feel like
whenever we try to do this stuff,
we're always just hit with loads of bloody obstacles.
But I refuse to let this be an obstacle, so.
Why would we build a shed?
Can I not vlog this?
Look how mental we look.
Absolutely idiots.
Not one of our finer plans.
Keep going.
Come on, Al's.
You can do it.
Almost there.
On the home stretch.
Made it.
Don't break it, we just gotta do it.
I'm just sweating.
We made it.
I don't know how we made that, but we made it, guys.
We made it.
We're gonna go get the car and bring the tools now
to put it up.
Oh my God.
Right, we've built the bed, the shed, the bed.
That's how tired I am.
We've built the shed base,
and now we're just gonna fill it with gravel
and build the bloody shed.
A bloody last, eh?
That's the most stressful thing I've ever done in my life.
And it's not straight, and it's wobbly,
and it's falling all over the place.
Why can't anything on this bloody plot be easy?
No, spin it, spin it.
Why is it going that way?
What are you doing?
Absolute joke.
It's a nightmare.
I'm helping, I'm helping.
This is it straight and it's sorted.
Fucking leave the door.
I'm not sitting here fumbling about with the ******* door.
Dude.
Behold, half a shed.
This is about as far as we're gonna get today.
We are fricking shattered.
That's it, I think.
Today's just drilling it to the base
so that it's not gonna fly away.
We need to figure out how to put the door on, the ceiling,
the little support beam things,
and then we're pretty much done.
But look, I think it just, it's changed the whole plot.
Looks great.
Smart little shed.
This whole day has just been a fricking disaster,
a nightmare.
I didn't know that it was gonna be so windy today,
or I would not have chosen today to put it up.
But we're all so tired.
We just can't, we just can't keep doing this.
So,
half a shed,
and I'll make it into two vlogs.
This'll be part one.
Stay tuned for part two.
See you next time.
Bye.
