(Bundesliga 2022/2023): Highlights Stuttgart - Bayern München

Stuttgart and Bruno Labbadia faced the task of containing Bayern and Kingsley Coman with the Frenchman having scored five goals in his last four games. Bayern knew a win would return them to top spot. Stuttgart was scrapping for survival and the hosts started superbly. Konstantinos Mavropanos saw an early header hacked off the line by Matthias Deligt. Stuttgart kept up the pressure but Bayern somehow survived. The visiting goalkeeper Jan Zommer looked somewhat shaky in the opening exchanges. But Deligt then intervened at the other end as on 39 minutes his snapshot caught out Fabian Bregler. The Stuttgart goalkeeper has been given a recent run of games. He could surely have done better here even if he was a little unsighted. So 1-0 at the break thanks to Deligt but Bayern knew that this game was far from won. Eric Maxim Schupper-Moting recently signed a new and improved contract with the record champions. He underlined his importance on 62 minutes. The Cameroon striker profited from great work from Jamal Musiala and Thomas Müller. He now has 10 league goals this season. He's loving every moment. To their credit Stuttgart never gave up and they grabbed a goal back on 88 minutes as Juan Jose Perea headed home his first ever Bundesliga goal. The game was suddenly back in the balance. The crowd reignited and the hosts nearly snatched a point but Tongi Koulibaly couldn't hit the target. The kind of miss that keeps players awake at night. It would have been just reward for a stirring fight back. So Clauditz but no points for Stuttgart. Bayern top of the table but only on goal difference.
