After all of that spreadsheet planning, it was finally time for us to go on our trip to Singapore and it was so exciting.
Key and I flew with Scoot, which is the budget airline of Singapore Airlines and honestly, it wasn't too bad.
I actually really liked the food, but FYI, the in-flight entertainment is not included.
So you'd have to pay extra to connect to their Wi-Fi.
I definitely didn't do that. So I just finished reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and oh my god, this book is incredible.
But anyway, the most exciting part is that Key and I were meeting up with my brothers, my sister-in-law, my niece,
my cousins and their partners and it was this big family reunion in Singapore.
They all live in Perth and I just found it so incredible that we could coordinate our schedules and
you know, book our leave so we could all go together and travel again.
It's really beautiful because we're all so close in age and we're just close in general.
So it was just a really special trip.
Hi, it's day one of our Singapore trip. We arrived last night at around 6.30
but it took us a while to get through immigration. After we checked into our hotel,
we went to a hawker center and I had some really delicious noodles as the first meal and
now we are just about to head down and grab some breakfast.
We're probably gonna get some kaya toast and some coffee.
Super excited and in this room, I'm staying with my little brother Jonathan and Key.
So good.
So later in the day, my cousins and their partners, Nick and Quinn, arrived.
So we had the full gang in Singapore.
It was really nice to reflect because I had been to Singapore a few times before
with my family as a child when I was still living in Perth and it was such a short flight.
I think going back as an adult, especially after all of the lockdowns that we've had recently,
it felt like a completely different experience and I was really just
appreciating and taking in the true beauty of Singapore.
After the Art Science Museum, we decided to go to Chinatown and go to the hawker center there for dinner.
Key and I saw a really long line at a dumpling place.
So we figured it would be amazing and we waited in line for 45 minutes.
The line was barely moving at times.
Honestly, it really tested me. The price was really good, especially considering how much we ordered.
The dumplings were really nice, but I thought the highlight was actually the noodles.
But seriously, if you asked me if I would wait 45 minutes again for this place,
I would definitely say heck no, save your time, save your energy and learn from our mistakes.
But anyway, we had a really good night all of us together and
afterwards we did some walking around the little stalls. We stumbled across this like community dance
party. If you live in Singapore and know what this is, please let me know in the comments.
It looked like so much fun.
We took the MRT back home and decided to have a night swim at the hotel and
it was just the best way to wrap up our first full day in Singapore.
Anyway, that's it for this vlog. I really hope you enjoyed it.
