(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Manchester City - Wolves

Very good afternoon. Welcome along to the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City back on home soil for the second time this week. And away we go then. Manchester City's chase to retain the title continues. Win today. And they put the pressure on the league leaders, Arsenal, who face Manchester United later this afternoon. And it has been playing in that more midfield role in this game so far. Mahrez. Back to De Bruyne. Haaland with a header. Manchester City have the breakthrough. Previous moves. He set it back to Rico Lewis, who hasn't quite delivered the quality that Kevin De Bruyne has just showed right in this moment. Just whips it into that space. It was there. Grealish is down. Check complete and no penalty. Oh, I'm surprised by that. I really am. Guardiola looks surprised as well. Finds Grealish. Grealish looks to strike. A really important decision from Collins to go back onto the line. It's a game. Good play by Manchester City. Really stretching this Wolves defence. And only the first time in this first half. To the spot. Still thought they were certainly contacted. It's a clever run from Gundogan in behind Neves into a lovely. Haaland steps up. Never thought there was going to be any other outcome, really, when Erling Haaland stands up in front of goal. De Bruyne lifts it up, looking for Grealish. Samedo headed it away, but Grealish finds it again. Across! Wide netting by Mahrez. That is Erling Haaland. Again, he delivers comfortably, just passing it into the corner. I think we were surprised that he wasn't in the starting line-up. I was more surprised at half-time that he didn't enter the field then. Here comes De Bruyne again. Plays it through to Mahrez. Doing so may be playing Riyad Mahrez offside. You see, as he just holds his line on the edge of that penalty area, Mahrez is trying everything he can to hold his momentum himself. And I don't think he's managed to do it. A beautiful finish once the ball's played in. Elegantly just lifted over the goalkeeper. Rosti, Mateus, Nunes. And away by Gundogan. Comfortable victory for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.
