Everybody knows one of these people. They're not Asian, but they wannabe Asian. Yes, the EGG. But sometimes what people perceive as Asian may be very different from reality.
Hey everyone, I know every one of you has one of these friends.
They're not Asian, but they really, really, really want to be Asian.
Alright, what we're talking about, of course, is the phenomenon of the egg.
White on the outside, yellow on the inside.
And there can be tea eggs as well.
What we're going to show you today is the difference between an egg and real Chinese.
Hey, what's up, bro?
Mmm, very fragrant.
This cup of tea reminds me of a poem.
Moonlight in front of the bed.
Yo, how are you?
You're beautiful.
I'm Cantonese.
Do you want to have a drink with a boy?
I started the Chinese chess club, the Chinese erhu class, the Chinese calligraphy class,
the qigong class.
You know, it's way better than yoga, by the way.
The feng shui class.
Because I don't want the chi in the school to be messed up.
You know what I'm saying?
You know about chi?
The Chinese dance class.
The mahjong club.
Have I told you about chi?
It's real, you know.
One should not order the sesame chicken.
That's white people's food, my friend.
Look, I'll order you the 1,000-year-old egg.
Looks rather disgusting, but tastes real good.
I'll even order it for you.
Waiter!
I'd like to order.
You know, Dan, when I was in college, I studied abroad in China.
You know, China.
Yeah, I was born in Shanghai, bro.
Yeah, but I'm talking about the real China, you know,
not the westernized coastal cities, man.
I'm talking about Gansu province, you know?
Yeah, I grew up in the real China.
I lived in China.
Oh, but you're all Americanized now, bro.
Dude, I crept in a spittoon.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know one of those.
It's a tan guan.
Yeah, have you ever used one of those?
Of course not.
But, you know, I know from Chinese culture...
Dude, dude, dude, bro, listen, man.
I didn't have a bathroom for the first five years of my life.
You want to be Chinese?
You want to be the real Chinese?
This is the real Chinese.
Yo, yo, this is how real Chinese drink tea.
In a glass jar.
With boiling hot water.
Three old leaves.
You keep adding it in there when you're done.
Oolong tea.
Tastes like jasmine.
Tea for tea.
Antioxidants.
You want to know what the real, real, real Chinese kung fu is?
Yo, this is how, this is how the real, the real Chinese ask out the honeys.
This represents my heart, yo.
Yo, we take piano classes.
Violin classes.
Ping pong classes.
SL classes.
Respect.
Yo, yo, let me tell you, this is how real Chinese eat.
Chicken feet.
Yeah.
Rubbery pig ear.
Not rubbery.
Oink, oink.
Fish head.
Big ass fish head.
Hell yeah.
Come on, bro.
Um, cool.
I just had something to eat like 20 minutes ago.
That's all you.
Oh, get me, get some fish eye.
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
That's real Chinese.
That's cool.
I'm going to go.
Yo, bro.
Yo, how'd you poop when you were in China?
I squat in the hole.
Yo, I didn't even have a hole, girl.
Hole.
I had a spittoon.
A Chinese toilet.
Guys, is a Chinese toilet like a toilet made in China?
Banana.
Hey, guys.
Thanks for watching Off the Great Wall.
All jokes aside, though, we really do appreciate that more and more people are learning about
Asian and Chinese culture.
Guys, thanks a lot.
We had a great time making this video.
And of course, Chinese and Asian culture goes way beyond stereotypes.
And sometimes reality is a lot different than what you think.
Like our friend Ben here, who actually lived in Asia for 10 years and has a degree in modern
and classical Chinese.
Damn.
That's right, guys.

Ben, I've been having kind of a problem with the ladies lately.
Do you think you could teach me a phrase or two?
Oh, yeah, man.
I've got a really romantic one.
Alright.
Do you think that's going to work?
Yep.
Do it.
