Travel has changed my life and I have no plans on stopping any time soon. That's why I am now running this video blog showing you how I travel the world continuously.
if you made it this far then let me know in the comments below!
Good morning and welcome back to Bali. In this video I want to show you some of my
favorite spots around Canggu and also answer some of your questions.
So first stop is Echo Beach and it's a bit
a bit quieter than the other beaches further down the coast.
I like to come here in the morning for coffee and just to sort of
have a bit of a break before I do anything else for the rest of the day.
There's also people out surfing out there so if you're into that then you
can also go out and surf. That's something I still need to learn
and get better at. I've been a few times but
I haven't really got good and maybe that's something I can work on.
Now I'm based here in Bali and that brings me to
the first question that a few of you guys asked. Why
Indonesia? Why do I keep coming back to Indonesia and why
do I love it so much? And the answer is I don't really know.
I mean there's plenty of reasons I love it.
The people here are great. The food's really good. The nature is beautiful.
There's so much to do. I mean it's like a whole
it's a whole world in itself. 17,000 islands to explore and I've
been to hardly any of them but that's true for a few countries like Philippines
is also beautiful and people are friendly.
The food is okay but for some reason Indonesia has really resonated with me
and each time I'm away for a long period of time
I look forward to coming back to Bali and having
a bit of a basin community here and seeing more of Indonesia as well.
So I don't know the exact reason why. I think some places you just sort of
connect with and some places just stand out over others and for me
that's Indonesia and that's why I want to be spending
a lot more time here in the future.
So one of my favorite things about being here and life
in general is coffee and breakfast and this place has
pretty good of both. I started with a great cold brewed coffee
and then the breakfast I'm getting in a second I'll show you.
And this is the breakfast. All right so this is the veto.
Salmon and avocado and in my opinion everything else here
is null and void but I'm gonna chow down and then we'll get to the next
question.
They were just a few of the clips from some of the trips I've been on in
Indonesia but there is really so much more still to explore and that's why
I can't wait to do that next year. Which brings me to
travel. One of the things I really want to do for next year
is improve my Indonesian and be able to speak
better Indonesian and travel through Indonesia without having to speak
English. Because while it's fine in Bali to use
English, a lot of places around Indonesia you
really have to know basic Indonesian to be able to
get to certain places and do things. And I'm using Babbel to help me do that.
This is a sponsored section of the video by the way but what I do want to say
is that I've been using this app for the past couple of weeks and I'm really
enjoying it genuinely. I think I'm going to continue using this for
the next year and I've just signed up for the next three months of membership
because I'm really enjoying how professional their courses are
and I'm going to show you a little bit right now.
Bali, it's a good start. Malam is evening, night.
Okay one of the cool things about it is that you can download lessons for later
so if I'm offline and I don't want to be on the
internet and I can still learn if I was on a plane or on the beach then you can
use your lessons offline.
Good afternoon Miss Santi, saya berasal dari
London. That means I'm from London. I learned that
yesterday. Good afternoon, selamat sori. It is kind of sticking with me which is
why I like this. Selamat pagi Mr. Radwan.
I think if you're going to be in a place for a long time or even if you're just
traveling then it's good to try and learn some of the local language and I
would say that to everyone. I already had a little basis of
Indonesian before but now I really want to
improve it. Ibu. Okay and that's it. I literally just finished the
lesson and that is eight minutes on the clock so I think
this only took about five minutes and that's the cool thing about the app as
well because all of the lessons are bite
size digestible and I can do it in between
doing other things. So what I will say is that
I'm going to come back to this I think at different points throughout next year
and try and sort of show you where my Indonesian's at because it's
going to make me accountable to learn as well because I really want to
and I just haven't got myself to a level where I really
want to be with Indonesian. So we are going to come back to this but if you
are interested in using Babbel as well then check out the link in the
description because I'm going to be using it too and
if you sign up for three months you'll also get three months
Okay next question. How do you afford to travel constantly?
Dude it's travel continuously. Just kidding
but various ways and I've spoken about it in previous videos so it will pop up
above go check out that and that will give more of an explanation
but really it's through content creation video
and things I've learned over the past few years that I'm
sharing with you guys now so I'd say go check that video and you can get
a more detailed explanation. This is where I'm staying by the way this is my
Airbnb. I'm only here like I'm going to look for
a long-term place but right now I've just got this Airbnb
This is my makeshift studio. I moved this here
so I could get this kind of view
What is the best budget camera do you recommend for a beginner?
Honestly probably your phone. I know lots of people that
vlog on their phone so depending on what phone it is if it's one of the new
gen ones then the camera will be good on that
you can get like a cheap microphone attachment if you want
to be able to get better sound but really the phone in your pocket
is good enough to start filming with. What was your first trip outside of
Europe? When I was an adult I'm going to do this
in two ways because when I was a kid and I was lucky enough to travel quite a
bit I went with my mum and dad to Kenya I went with my dad to
New York and like we did get to travel a little bit but my first country
outside of Europe when I was an adult was Thailand when I was 19
I did like the classic gap year backpacking thing for three months where
we did Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Do you
ever feel lonely sometimes and how do you handle it?
Well I think yeah of course I think everyone feels lonely sometimes
and I think like well that's one of the good things about
being in one spot right now because I do get to have a bit more of a community
I've got friends here and like there's still people that come and go
because it's that sort of place but it is nice having like a core
community of people around but the truth is when you do travel
on your own you always meet people so quickly especially if you're staying in
hostels or you're going to places where other travelers are
then everyone is in the same situation and you do
you do meet each other and you do get to hang out so I don't think you're ever
really alone but of course yeah I mean everyone feels lonely
it's normal. Okay next place
Okay I don't know if you can see this but it is raining. I came down here for
sunset. I do have an umbrella so the top half of
me is staying dry but my legs are pretty soaked. It's coming
into rainy season now so that happens. What parts of Indonesia
would you like to visit now you're based in Bali?
Raja Rampat for sure is on the list, Sumba, Papua, Manado,
Kalimantan, more of Flores because I only did Komodo and I haven't seen like
the Kelimutu lakes and there's just loads of it as well
like honestly there's I think there's going to be a lot of
Indonesia content coming up because I want to get to these places that
most people don't travel to. Most people come to Bali and there's so much more to
see in Indonesia. When will you marry me? Where do you want
to be in the next few years? Same thing. Any new desires? 1 mil subs?
Well 1 mil subs would be nice so go and subscribe. Good segue right
but go and subscribe if you're interested in
helping me get to a million but I think that's a long way away
who knows but new plans. What I really want to do
is help more people to be able to travel continuously
and that's really central to what I want to do for next year
because that was how I started and I do want to share the
stuff I've learned to help people be able to work online
while traveling. When I started out I had no idea how to do it and I had to
figure it all out through trial and error for myself
and if I can help more people to be able to do it themselves then that's
sort of where I get the satisfaction from so I do definitely
want to bring more of that into this channel. Okay I
think that's about it for the questions and sunset is just about to start.
The rain did stop and I got a bit of a sunset to finish off this video and that
feels like a good place to leave it. Hopefully that answers
some of your questions. Thank you for watching and I don't know
if you can tell but I am really excited about this next part of
what's happening in my life and what's happening on this channel.
So again thank you for watching and see you in the next video.
