Its the 9th largest country in the world and there's so much to do here. I've been on jeeps from the Caspian Sea to the Ustyurt Plateau I've only just scratched the surface. Next time: Almaty!
Thank you to the Kazakhstan Tourism board for arranging this trip. Disclaimer: This project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the Youth Year
Travel has changed my life and I have no plans on stopping any time soon. That's why I am now running this video blog showing you how I travel the world continuously.
This video is brought to you by Squarespace.
Good morning again from Kazakhstan.
We're just about to leave this hotel,
it's in the shadows,
where we stayed last night
and head out for the last day of exploring here.
I've been told we're first heading to the Caspian Sea,
so I'm going to go see that,
see the sea,
and go for a swim.
We're heading out in our 4x4s again,
so I need to get in this one,
which is mine,
and get on the road.
Look at all this dust from yesterday.
After about a one hour journey
through the desert in a convoy,
which has been cool every day,
we've now arrived at the Caspian Sea.
I think we have a chance to swim here as well.
This is so funny.
It's clearly set up for a lot of people,
but there's no one here whatsoever.
It's a complete ghost town.
I mean it is.
It's a Thursday,
and it's the middle of summer,
so it's like 40 degrees right now,
so maybe it'll get more busy another time.
But yeah, it's completely empty.
I mean even this thing,
like it's got coking.
The ice cream machine's on,
so maybe we're just here too early.
Yeah, it is only 10am,
so maybe we're here too early.
Maybe we'll get busier later.
And for right now,
we have the whole of this part of the Caspian Sea to ourselves.
Okay, the only trouble for me
is if I go in,
I need to get out again pretty quickly,
otherwise I'm going to come out very red.
Wow, it's so still,
and it's like,
it's just a sandbar the whole way out.
Okay, it's a nice temperature.
Cheers.
It's kind of eerie how still it is.
You can't even really see the horizon.
It goes into this sort of mist
that's completely flat,
no waves.
Yeah, I'm glad I came in.
Okay, I'm going to cut in right here
because I need to tell you quickly about Squarespace.
And I have my laptop right here,
and I'm going to show you
how far I'm getting along with this website.
Squarespace with Jord.
Right, so I've been building this site for a while now,
but I've just decided that for some reason
this theme doesn't really jump out to me as the right one,
so I've decided to change it.
And the good thing is it's so easy.
Check it out.
Okay, I'm liking the look of this one.
It's very photo orientated,
so I'm going to go for that.
And that's how quickly it changes.
Obviously, I need to change the images,
which I'll go and do now,
and then we can see how it stacks up
in that amount of time.
I've started to fill in little bits here and there,
but this is another cool thing that is good for me.
I can go to connected accounts
and then start connecting all of my social media.
This is how easy it is to add in a Instagram block.
It's there.
I can change it to carousel.
But then you're thinking, like I was,
that's way too big for this webpage.
Like, that takes up even most of the page.
So I thought, how do you change it?
And this is cool.
Just drag it down and there you go.
Maybe that's about right.
Okay, I'm still continuing with this website
and I'm going to work on it for a while
because it's part of the next big phase
of what I want to do.
With this channel and in general, with my travels.
So it's not quite ready to show you yet,
but I am going to show you soon enough.

And for now, back to Kazakhstan.
Next up, and we found a viewpoint over the sea.
That was also really cool,
driving along with the dust kicking up
while driving along the coast.
Just a very overall cool experience,
which I don't know how well I can translate onto camera,
but it was cool.
So we're also just about to have our lunch here.
For the last few days,
we've just been pulling up to scenic spots
and having a picnic next to the jeeps,
which I've thoroughly enjoyed.
I've just been told as well,
this used to be an ancient port for ships
like 100,000 years ago.
And you can still find sort of fossilized versions
of these ships that came across the Caspian sea
down below in the bed of the sea.
But the main thing that strikes me about here
is just how blue it is.
It's just really like,
we just saw it a minute ago when I was swimming,
like this really deep shade of blue
and lots of different blues together,
which I didn't really expect to see at all
coming here, to be honest.
It's more tropical and I had no idea
that it would look like that.
It's just so eerily still.
There's no, besides us here,
there's no sound whatsoever.
You can't hear any waves.
I didn't film it, but of course I had to get in
and the temperature is so nice.
It's like, it's so hot out here,
but it's freezing cold in the sea.
So I just didn't want to get out.
Yeah, what a spot.
How's that?
Cold, right?
So nice.
Can I flick your hair for the slow-mo?
Yeah, it's going to be cute.
Okay.
Oh, here we go.
Okay, nice healthy lunch.
Another cool spot for lunch
and now we're just about to head back to Aktal.
I think from where we are,
it's a three hour drive
across like the bumpy roads we've come in on.
So I'm probably going to sleep,
film a little bit and then see you there.
Okay, we've made it back to civilization.
I'm in the city of Aktal now,
staying in this hotel
and just about to grab a dinner
before heading to the airport.
It's all been a bit of a whirlwind three days.
I don't know what it is,
but it's fish and...
Poe garden to finish.
Tishpema.
Tishpema, okay.
Okay, that's what it is.
Okay, we finished dinner
and I'm on the way to the airport right now.
So we are...
Lost the light.
Right, so I'm going to make it
because it's running late already.
But yeah, we're on the way to the...
I'm on the way to the airport
and flying soon.
I'm just waiting for my flight now
so it feels like a good time to finish it
and just as I start there's an announcement.
Just playing with me.
Anyway, this last few days have been fantastic.
It's great to get a little taste of Kazakhstan.
I do have to fly back now.
There it is.
Okay, I do have to fly back
for my friend's wedding right now
which is why I'm leaving only after a few days.
But I'd love to come back
and see more of the country,
get to the mountains,
go to Almaty.
And I know there's a lot more here to see
because it is the ninth biggest country
in the world and...
God damn, okay.
So before there's another announcement
I'll just say again
thank you for watching
and see you in the next video.
All right, it's 3 a.m.
I'm about to sleep right here.
Good night guys.
