This is my one night wild hammock camp hope you all enjoy
Well guys, this is my 97th night in the woods and it's totally random and unplanned.
Gary texted me and I texted Gary and it took an hour to plan.
So we thought we'd get out and check out the debris village tonight and just camp there for tonight and come back tomorrow morning.
And it puts another one on the tariff of 97.
Totally epic, so close now.
Last night was the survival video, the one that everyone's watching, no problem.
So yeah, I'm a little bit rough and stiff today, but I'm good.
And we're here at camp.
We've got the fire going for like 10-15 minutes while we set up our stuff.
We've got our water boiling for our first coffee.
We're at Gary's Woods with our debris village.
Just having a check it out and chill for the night because it was a random camp as I say.
I'm rocking my DD hammock.
My usual suspension setup.
And I might do the twist test on this tomorrow, see what that's like.
See how DD holds up against it.
Yeah, got my kit down there as again it was just a light, fast pack of a kit.
So tonight we're having steak and some mashed potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.
I am fully clothed now as you can see, which is nice to have clothes on.
Considering last night was quite a special night.
Got a little makeshift kitchen up.
Gravy powder, all our little tidbits and food and that.
Brew station.
Gary's over yonder.
Say hello Gary.
Shaved his beard off.
Look at all the leaves.
We only put this back up, was it last week?
Last week.
It's like an inch in parts of leaves.
All the camouflage is gone now.
TP village is still looking epic.
This is, as you can see, the leaves are proper falling into it now.
Big 24ft long.
It's all nice and dry inside.
Give you a better look in the morning quickly.
Before we go.
We've got our potatoes on.
Gonna mash potatoes with our steak.
Steak here.
So I've put the oven on for the Yorkshire puddings.
We've got our potatoes for mash.
They're pretty done.
I've got the grill burning off here for our steaks.
Gary's just built up the back end of the oven.
So I can get our Yorkshire puddings really hot really fast and crisp them up.
That's what we like.
It's my only oven I have out in the field that hasn't been plundered.
But it's all good because I've ordered some new ones now so they'll be in action before long.
Two nice crispy Yorkshire puddings.
My oven isn't even half way in the fire, it's just the back end.
About two inch of it.
Steaks are looking good.
Just gonna mash the potatoes and sweet the gravy's here.
There we go.
Yorkshire puddings are nice and crispy too.
I'm totally wiped out.
My whole body hurts after last night too.
But at least this is just a chill camp.
Just made my last coffee and I'm going to my hammock to have a smoke and then I'm going to sleep.
Pretty sweet.
Nice to have a relaxing camp after last night.
Well guys, I'll see you all in the morning.
I'm so tired.
Slept like a baby though.
It's such a nice fresh crisp morning.
Oh **** it, I'm getting up for coffee.
Good morning Gary.
Sun's shining right through my tarp, it's awesome.
Gary's got his usual camo hornet and 3x3 setup with a DD tarp.
I have my Coyote Brown 4.5x4 or 4.5x3 I think.
And my DD front line hammock.
Which again, I'll have a little play with the twist test later on to see how that goes.
Every village is camouflaged, it's awesome.
That wall is so blended in.
Okay.
Me all packed up.
New sorting in my bag.
Gary's pretty much on the sail.
Just put some more wood on the fire so we can have another coffee before we go.
Water here.
And yeah, we've decided we're going to have a bacon roll with our coffee before we go.
We're such slackers.
And we're off.
We'll see the debris of the village soon.
Look at you with all the water bottles on your belt.
You're kind of lucky they're not full really.
Turn around.
Fifteen litre water bottle.
Explosion.
