Flying Back to Colombo - WHY I LOVE SRI LANKA

I'm in London Heathrow right now and I'm just about to jump on my flight to Sri Lanka. I said, oh god I've got to get off this now, this was a mistake. I'm about to walk past my gate. Yeah I literally, I just finished my dad's wedding and it's Tuesday already and I'm already flying straight out to Sri Lanka. It's hilarious guys, as I was coming through security I got given this, vlogger on board. Yeah, how funny is that? Vlogger on board. I wonder what perks it unlocks. Also there's a garden in the gate. This is exciting. I am cringing so hard right now but I need to see what this unlocks. Everyone else has left and it's just the bloggers left. There's a difference in temperature. Welcome back to Sri Lanka. Now we find out what this does. Should I get a little flower? Yeah. Thank you. So that one's for me? Yes, that's for you. Thank you. Check it out, I got a whole bomba, two boxes. Welcome back to Sri Lanka. That was actually a really nice flight. I left at 9.30 last night and it's 12 now. I pretty much slept most of the way through, had a good meal and that's the first time I'm flying with Sri Lankan Airlines, who are these guys. But yeah, I have no complaints at all. It was a good flight and now I'm excited to be back in Sri Lanka. You guys know they've been following me for a while, I've been here before a couple times and I love this country. I always say it's one of the best countries I've been to and I get to explore even more of it now this week, which is cool. This is us? Yeah. Cool. This place is huge. I'm walking to my room now, just checking in. Okay, this is me. Corner room, that's always a good sign. Not too shabby. Yes, great. Now I'm going to ruin it. So, this is the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo and they're sort of putting on this whole week. So, we're going to be traveling around Sri Lanka and then coming back here for a travel bloggers conference in about a week's time. So, I'm going to try and show you loads of that. There's also, I think there's 60 bloggers, vloggers, YouTubers and Instagrammers coming from all over the world. So, I'm going to try and introduce as many as I can to you on here as well. Right now, I'm pretty, well, to be honest, I just slept on a plane for the last day, so I'm pretty stinky. So, I'm going to have a quick shower. Okay, actually, I'm really hungry, so I decided to shower after and right now I'm going to go grab some food. Boom. Perfect. Hello. I'm officially on holiday. Whoa. I was just filming myself working while I'm waiting for dinner tonight, but then there's a massive thunderstorm started outside, so I'm going to film that instead. Good morning. It is 5.30 in the morning and we're just getting ready to leave the hotel. This is the lobby, by the way. Look, very grand. Yeah, we're just about to leave and I've found out what we're doing. It's a really exciting day. I'm not going to tell you, but you're going to see as we go along. Yeah, not much more to say than that. Let's go. Say hi. You guys remember Eileen from Romania? So, first up this morning, we are jumping on the train to Kandy. This is one of the best things to do in Sri Lanka and I actually did it five years ago, but it was before I started vlogging, before I started doing this YouTube channel. What's that? Yes, as I was saying, there's a small clip of me doing this train in my first original one second a day video because I spent some time backpacking here, but I haven't been back to do this train in this part of the country for this. I'm really excited to do that and you're going to see exactly what it is very soon. This whole journey is epic. Keep leaning out to see everything and occasionally you just have to duck your head in. Oh yes, read my mind. Thank you. What is it? Mango. Fresh mango. Pretty nice. We have arrived to, I have no idea where we are, Victoria Gulf and Country Resort. We're here. It's just outside Kandy. It was like a half an hour ride and because this trip is organized by Cinnamon Grand, which is a big, nice hotel, it means we get to stay in lots of nice hotels on the way as well. Yeah, it's cool. Like I said, there's 60 bloggers on this overall trip, but we've split into four different itineraries. I'm on the east one with about 15 people. I chose this because I've done all the other things that they're doing in Sri Lanka, but I haven't done any of this yet. Yeah, I know we have some really exciting things over the next couple of days and I just, I don't know, I've been really excited all day. This is how I feel really good to be back in Sri Lanka. I was just getting my drone out ready to show you this place. It's pretty wet. Yeah. We were also just about to go on a nature walk for three hours. I think we're going to go on that walk right now. So I'll give you an update once I know what we're doing. Right, it's actually just stopped raining. I have a window. Let's go. All right, it seems like the nature walk's back on. It's funny actually, we have to get a taxi to our room from the main reception. This is Shane. Hey, what's going on guys? How you doing? We just met today. He seems cool. Forgot my moments. Okay, we did get caught. Really put my camera away because it has just opened up, but we're powering on. Anyway, this is our gang. This is the nature walk or the rainy walk. We decided to seek refuge. Refuge. Refuge. We decided to seek refuge. Yeah. Like that. You can tie it. Your fingers like that. Okay. Oh, good. Keep the leaf like that and use your palm and do the tie. Wow. This is cool. What? If we sit a little hot day, more bubbles will come out because these resins will a little bit warm up. Wow. You should just sell these. Start a business. And slow-mo. The rain did stop eventually and we just finished up with this viewpoint, which I managed to just get the drone up and show you a bit of. We're now heading back to the hotel and then there's a bit of a dinner and other stuff. So let's go. I approve. You approve? So much food. I've filmed like three meals in this video already. All right. Good morning guys. Okay. So it's been kind of a hectic first couple of days, probably as you've seen by this video. That's kind of the way on press trips, they always like you get moved around a lot so you can see more of the country. And when you can wake up to views like this, who cares really? I'm pretty excited to be able to just see new places in Sri Lanka. So I got like thinking, this has been kind of disjointed. How should I finish this video? I kind of just want to say why you should go to Sri Lanka. Because this is the third time I've been back here now over different years and the same things always pop to my head. So I'm going to go for it right now. Firstly, the food is incredible. I've shown you a lot of food in this video already, but the food is amazing. And that is like, that's you guys that know me, that's enough of a reason for me to come anyway. Secondly, the people are some of the friendliest people I've met in any country in the world. The people are some of the friendliest people I've met anywhere in the world. And anyone that comes here, even people on this trip have said exactly the same thing. The scenery is just lush. It's just this is of course, but I mean, it's green absolutely everywhere. As soon as you fly in, you can just see the green across the country. And there's so much to do. Each time I come back, there are new things to do. And we're doing even more of them today. I'll show you in the next video. So I'm going to finish it here. But there's something really cool we're doing like today that I'm very excited about. Yeah, I am fully happy to be back in Sri Lanka. I'm gonna have a few more videos coming out from here.
