We flew from Copenhagen to Helsinki and finally made it to Finland!
This was a transit day and we spent most of our time in the Airport and ferry terminal, but I wanted to show you a bit of that so people can see what it's like to travel continuously.
Next up we are heading to the Aaland Islands between Finland and Sweden.
Oh and here's the American Express link for anyone that's interested: http://bit.ly/AmexJord
Good morning. It's 8am here in Copenhagen airport and I'm about to fly to Helsinki, Finland.
I feel like we've been moving around very quickly for the last week and the truth is that we have.
It's been two days in each place, that's why I've only had one video up from Berlin,
one video up from Copenhagen and now I'm off again to Finland. And we knew that's how it was
going to be because we knew that we'd only have a brief stop in each city but the overall plan
was to just do these places before going to Finland. So Finland is really the reason we've
stayed in Europe for the last couple of weeks. This next part of the trip should be amazing.
We're going with a thing called the Nordic bloggers experience and we're meeting up with
later today and we're going to go off to an island I think and explore part of Finland
and then go back to Helsinki. So the things we have planned there should be really cool. We've
got a longer time in Finland, I think about eight days altogether and then flying on after that.
So anyway, I think these next videos should be pretty cool. I went to Finland when I was about
14 for a football tournament actually but I haven't been back since then so I haven't seen
hardly any of it. I don't know, I think what we're doing is going to be really cool. I'll
leave it at that. We need to go get on the flight and head to Helsinki. Ready?
Next stop Helsinki. Let's go!
We're up in the air now and it's just about an hour and a half flight to Helsinki. I just
remembered something I want to mention on here. We got these tickets using my American Express
points. We haven't paid anything for this flight. All I did is use my American Express card for the
last couple of months, saved up a load of points and then used them and now we get to fly for free.
I've heard loads about using points before but this is the first time I've actually tried to use
it and it was like this special introductory deal on American Express card where if you spent over
two grand in three months then you would get a free flight and that's what we did. So I'll drop
that card in the link below. Use it if you want or if not but it was a really cool deal and it
means that we can fly to Helsinki for free. Also we're so used to flying budget the lady with the
trolley just came past and said do you want a drink? We were like oh no no no we're fine we
don't want one because it's expensive but we forgot that it's all free so cheers. We're
learning about Finland. So there are 5.5 million people and there are 2 million saunas
so almost a sauna for every third person. It's a good ratio. I think there's a high
chance we'll be spending some time in some saunas which I'm very excited about.
I don't know how much I'll be able to take this camera in there though because people are pretty
naked. Oh it's snowy.
Welcome to Helsinki. It's your first time here right? Yeah. We have to head towards the cruise
ferry terminal right now. We're going straight away to a ferry and I think that's the other
side of Copenhagen. Wait the other side of Helsinki. We're not even stopping off really.
We're just grabbing our baggage now and heading across Helsinki towards the ferry terminal
to meet up with all of the guys here. Ready to go? Let's go.
Okay change of plan. We actually have about four hours to kill
so we've jumped out in Helsinki center and we're gonna find a coffee shop and
three hours actually went very quickly. Now we need to head off and go to the port.
We just arrived at the ferry terminal and we're waiting to meet our hosts now
and then we need to get on the ferry and head off to the Arland Islands.
Check out my hat by the way. It is freezing here. Just a little walk from the tram to here we
realized how cold it is and I think the place we're going to is even colder than Helsinki.
I'm glad I've bought loads of warm stuff and we're going to try and stay warm. It'll be worth it I
think. I've seen some of the photos of the place we're going and it looks awesome. It'll be cold
but it'll be worth it. Now we need to meet the host and go get on the ferry and here we are. Let's go.
So let's go to Arland Islands.
Arland Islands.
And this is our lovely crew.
Say it. Yes, let's go on the Viking cruise. Wait, let's see this. Your bag is bigger than you. Oh come on, not again.
I know it's a very big bag but a girl needs a lot of stuff.
Okay, here we are.
Not bad. So this is our cabin for the night.
It's not exactly roomy but it does the job. I think these pull out into beds. Yeah, there you go.
One bed. Cool. And down there. Now we have so much room for activities.
We're just chilling for now. I think the only plan for tonight is to meet up with the rest of
them for dinner. So until then we'll probably... I think the boat leaves for another hour so it might
be completely dark but it'll be cool to try and see it pulling out of the port. I'll check back
in then. Looks like we're moving. We are coming out of port. We need to go. Let's go have a look. Go, go, go.
This is really cool. We're in Helsinki in Finland rolling out of the port in the cold in January
on a cruise ship and it's something I never imagined doing. It was never on my agenda
but I'm so glad I'm here. We applied for this thing called the Nordic Bloggers Experience and
we got accepted. We got invited on this and it means we get to do really awesome things through
Finland and yeah. It's really slippery. Okay, thank you. I don't know what else to say. Really cool.
Okay, it is really cool. By which I mean absolutely freezing. Okay, let's go in. I think I'll get frostbite.
Yeah, let's go. One of my friends from here told me before that he did a Facebook Live on his phone
out in Finland out in the snow and after doing it for like 10 minutes he started to lose feeling in
one of his fingers and then when he got checked up he had a frostbite so that's just an idea
of how cold it is here. With that I'm going to leave you there. We're actually going to this, I think
I've mentioned it, we're going to this awesome place tomorrow and I'm going to try and make the next
video really, really epic. From what I've seen of it, it should be like just epic scenery in the snow
I think. So I'm going to try and make the next video really cinematic and cool. We're going to go
and go to dinner now with the other bloggers here but rather than shove a camera in their face when
they're all tired getting off their flights, I'm going to leave it here, go enjoy that and then
check back with another video of tomorrow in the next few days. For now, thank you for watching and
this is my life. I don't know if any of you guys have noticed but there's been a little bit of a
spot on my camera for the last few videos and I didn't realize it was a spot on the sensor which
I've just managed to now clean. Yeah sorry about that but now hopefully it's fixed. There's pro tip
get your camera serviced, I'm really bad at that. Anyway, see you next video.
