JJ Redick gets ejected for passing ball to the ref, a breakdown

But he puts it in, gets the end one, screams and yells because he persevered through all that contact. Reddick says, he pushed off. Okay, whatever. Next, you got Zion bringing the ball up and you got J.J. down here in the bottom left. He's going to get the pass. Now he thinks that's an off the ball foul right there and he turns to the ref and says, what the hell? Where were you on that one, jackass? And he keeps yelling at him. The ref says, timeout. T, him, he's being mean to me and I don't like it. He said that Reddick was using profanity, so that's his first technical foul. He's licking his lips and he's getting a little angry, but he's going to reel it in. He's a professional. Now this is like the next possession. Zion's got the ball again. Reddick comes around, goes to put up the shot. Nope. Draws the foul. Gets the call. The ref calls it. He passes the ball to the ref. Now the ref got a little scared here because as the ball was coming, you can see the ref isn't looking at the ball and Reddick put some devilish spin on it. So once it hits the ground, he's like, okay, oh ----. Here it's coming. I better catch this. But you know, all that spin, ah, trips him up. He gets embarrassed. He can't handle it. He throws Reddick out of the game. Second technical. Boom. You're out. Reddick is like, what? For throwing the ball to you? That's not intentional at all. Either he said that is not intentional or he says, that's not what I'm trying to do. I don't know which one it is. And he says, I'm just spinning the ball to him. I believe he did say spinning, which is interesting. Now, the official ejection at the NBA said that he had ejected for passing the ball to the ref with force. And here's the ref after the fact, just reliving that nightmarish embarrassment. Can't catch a simple pass. That's why I'm refereeing and not playing in this league. Oh my God. I hope no one watches that replay on loop. Speaking of interesting, some of this whistle, the whistle game has blown me by. I didn't realize that we were going into rubber whistles.
