Why BRASOV is Europe's Hidden Gem - Experience Romania

Good morning! I'm in Brasov, Romania. I just got a train from Bucharest, which is about 2.5 hours here to Transylvania. I'm here with my sister and my mum, who have just come over to Romania for a few days to explore. So my family wanted to come out and visit while I'm in Romania, and Transylvania is probably the most famous region. People think of Romania, they think of Transylvania. So we're here for two days in Brasov again. I've been here in one of my previous videos, but we're going to come here again and explore some other places that I didn't get to see last time. So welcome to Romania, welcome to the vlog. Anything to say, mum of George? Mum of George, I'm happy to be here with my son and my daughter for family time. Yeah, Dracula, suck your blood! First thoughts of Brasov city centre? It's very old. So we've first come to the old centre of Brasov, which I don't think I showed in the last video, but there's loads of really nice old buildings with nice architecture, and we're going to explore a bit of that today. One of the things I love, I know I get to travel a lot because it's what I do, but one of the things I really love is being able to take friends and family to places like this and see it through their eyes and get to show them places that I love. Straight away we decided to go up to one of the towers here, and you can get a really good view over the town. It's called, I'm probably not saying this right, Tunnel Alb, and I'll show you the view anyway. Come on, action mum! Let's go. Almost there. Look at this view though, it's awesome. We made it. We're on to free music. So this is the tower at the top, but the main thing is the view. Oh wow, worth it. Nice view. And on to the next place. Next up we're going for some local Romanian food in this restaurant, and last time I came here with Olivia and it was incredible, so I said at the time that I have to come back and film it. I feel like I'm giving away the secret a little bit, but let me show you some of the dishes. So this is country cooking in the centre of Brasov, grandma's home cooked meals. So check it out, we have zucchuska, mashed bean salad, and eggplant salad. All of them are vegetarian and they're all great. Okay, go ahead. What's that one, the bean one? Bean. It's delicious, I'm going to try the eggplant now. Wow, all of it's going vegan heaven. And it's gone. We just checked into our Airbnb and you guys need to see this place. So this is one bedroom, that's going to be mine, let me run through. This is my mum's bedroom. There is this bedroom in here, all really nice double beds, and our lounge slash kitchen area over here. And guess how much this cost me? Altogether, for this whole flat for three of us, cost me £4.10. Which is kind of ridiculous, and the reason is because I use the Airbnb referral system. So the top link in the top of my description, if you go and click on it, then you're going to get £30 off of your stay, of your first day anywhere if you sign up. And then if you sign up, then I get also a referral fee, I think it's about £25. So I've been saving up these referral fees and then used it on this place. Originally it was only £34 a night, but now it's £4 a night because I used some of my credit. And so if you're interested in using Airbnb anywhere in the world and getting a free stay, go click it, sign up, you'll be doing me a favour and also you'll get a really cheap price. Oh and of course one other thing to mention is that then once you've signed up, you can share your link to other people and they can sign up and then you get paid and then you get places like this for free as well. Anyone can do it, all you have to do is share the link, if someone signs up, you get free stays or very cheap stays. Finally for today, we have come to the big old Brasov hill and we're going to hike up it to get a really scenic view. Look at the colours at the moment by the way, it's autumn here and all the look at the light and here's the Brasov sign. Look at that! Beautiful sunset to finish on and yeah, I don't think Brasov is a place most people know about outside of Romania, but it's a place I would fully recommend people to come. Both my sister and my mum have said exactly the same today. It's something they didn't know about, but they've loved it here today and we're still going to explore all of Bran and Dracula's castle tomorrow.
