Day 3 of the Lanka Challenge and we decided to pick people up and drop them wherever they needed to go. Then we got stopped by the police. Then we ran out of fuel. Twice.
Travel has changed my life and I have no plans on stopping any time soon.
That's why I am now running this video blog showing you how to travel the world continuously
FAQ:
How did you learn to edit? I taught myself. I downloaded Premiere Pro and began to figure out how to use it through trial and error. My videos were pretty bad at first but eventually, and with the help of many tutorials, you start to figure out what works.
What work are you doing? I started off running this video blog while doing freelance web design and video editing to supplement my travelling lifestyle. I now rely solely on this blog to generate revenue through advertising, affiliate links and sponsorship opportunities.
How do you meet the people in your videos? Hostels, guesthouses and conversations! You meet people so easily while travelling. Just open yourself up and you will meet all sorts of amazing people. ' Where do you live? Right now, I travel the world continuously and so do not have a permanent base or home anywhere. I am not sure how long this is going to be the situation but right now I just want to keep travelling.
Any more questions, please post in the comments below!
Good morning! Today we are driving all the way to Jaffna.
See you later.
This is the third day. We are absolutely in the middle of nowhere. No one around. Amazing.
Really? This doesn't...
Yeah, that's a bad idea.
Just showed them my fake Khao San Road license.
It's a bit fine here, isn't it? We just got pulled out for speeding.
But our speedometer doesn't work.
Ireland. Ireland. Ireland, yeah.
Sorry, because we... I thought it was 50.
Oh, sorry.
Oh, sorry, sorry. Yeah, I did license in the UK.
Thank you, sir. Thank you. Slow down. Thank you. Sorry.
Have a nice day. That was a really nice one.
Sorry. Sorry for speeding. Don't worry about it. All right, cheers.
That was a bit worrying. That was nice that we got off of that, wasn't it? Yeah.
Close call. Let's slow down, captain.
Hello, say hi. Hi, guys.
Hello. Hello.
Thank you.
Do you want to go or no?
Anyway, we're trying to do a bit of a good deed, actually. So we're picking up
a few local guys because it's super hot and we don't want them walking on the side of the road.
So we're doing our good deed for the day. So here's our new friend. Hello.
Yeah, and this is Jordan's driving.
Awesome. You tell us. Yeah.
Okay. Okay. You tell us.
Yeah. Awesome. Hi. Hello.
We did it. How are you?
Hello.
It's one of the challenges to pick up a local and we got our buddy.
Bye-bye. We don't know, but thank you very much.
Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
Thank you.
Quick stop for some lunch and some ice cream.
And now we are off again on the final leg to Jaffna.
What's going on, Jordan's followers? I'm with the face, Josh the face Henry.
We are at the back of a tuk-tuk. Jordan's driving.
Oh, yes, Jordan. Get it going, buddy. Get it going.
Yeah.
This is the final stop for the day. We're just rolling into the temple.
We had to arrive in a convoy. So it's three of us.
No, no, no, no.
Stopping here.
We're in our tuk-tuks and we have arrived to Jaffna.
Everybody takes their shoes off and washes their lower legs and feet before you go in.
The guys have to remove their tops.
We need to make a puja, which is an offering for the temple.
So we just did the challenge, which was to offer, give an offering inside the temple.
There's no filming allowed inside the temple.
So I'm just explaining it now, but we did it anyway.
And now we're going to head on to the hotel.
Jetwing Jaffna, tonight's stop.
Here we go.
Amazing.
We're in Jaffna and we just heard some sounds next to our hotel.
And it turns out there's a big football match on right now.
We're about to head into the stadium and it's really cool
that we get a chance to go watch football in Jaffna.
Here we go.
Okay, thank you.
Yeah, this is sweet.
The whole place is packed out.
I think these guys are the VIPs.
And that's the subs bench.
Here comes the ambulance.
Day four and we're just about to leave Jaffna.
We just got about half an hour in the wrong direction.
So far, off to a bad start.
It is nice not using GPS when we've got used to it.
Having to pull over and ask for directions.
Shows you how much you rely on it though, doesn't it?
Here we go, we are late as ever.
Nothing like turning up last for every event that we ever run.
Oh yeah, look, everyone's here.
That's surprising, isn't it?
Yeah, like every time it's late.
Do a big handbrake turn right and finish it off.
Slide it in.
We went to Palali in the north.
That's nice up there.
Same kind of name.
So we have just turned up to this local school
and donated these musical instruments.
The reason is that 10% of the ticket price for this event
is used for local charities.
So one of the projects that was chosen was the school.
Just bought and donated all those instruments
and I think there's still another place we're helping out to.
It's pretty cool.
Ah, okay.
One of the challenges today was to find homemade toddy
which is palm tree wine.
So we've had to find this little place now
and it looks really weird.
Have a look.
Get it already?
Yeah.
What is it?
It's actually 100.
Yeah, look at that.
That's a winner.
We got the booze.
Cost 200 in the end.
They saw us coming but they're worth it.
So that's about $1.50 for a litre of the palm wine.
So as far as I know, yeah, they stick like a taff thing in the palm tree.
That could absolutely not be true.
Strong.
Oh, yeah.
Wow.
That's something special.
It's a deep burn.
Tastes like a liquid fart.
All right, so this is toddy.
Jonny and Josh just tried their bit.
And have a little taste.
It's good.
Oh, it's great, yeah.
It's great.
It's like silky.
It's really good, yeah.
Where's the bottle?
Really nice.
The cool temperature of it is what makes it.
The warm, yeah, 30 degree drink on a 40 degree.
Yeah, that's what they asked for.
Well, we're not sure if we've broken down.
We might run out of petrol.
Either way, it's not great.
I was just driving for the last like half an hour and then suddenly it just stopped.
So we don't know if it's the petrol.
We did fill up this morning.
We don't know if it's the petrol or something else but
right now we're in the middle of nowhere and it's not starting.
Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.
Jonny and Josh are going to try and find petrol.
This is the only house around.
Yeah.
Yes, thank you.
Thanks, sir.
This guy is kindly filling up our tank.
Yeah, that did run out of gas.
I think that's fair to say.
All right, let's give him some cash.
He wouldn't take the last 100.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
Thank you, thank you.
That is so nice.
The guy just came out of his house to help us.
He had some gas.
Filled up our tank and we gave him 400 rupees because we thought
that would be nice to give him a bit more and he gave us back 100.
He didn't want to take the full money.
Just wanted to help.
So we just started smelling the toddy because it's still fermenting.
Absolutely stinks as well, doesn't it?
Third time today that we have run out of fuel.
You'd think we'd learn the lesson the first time, but you'd be wrong.
Support has arrived.
One of the other teams has just saved us.
Thank you.
Fumes right now and we can't find a petrol station.
We made it.
Looks like we made it.
Well, we made it to Nilavelli.
This is where we've been staying for the last day.
We actually had a rest day because we've been doing so much driving.
We've done about 800 kilometers in three days.
There is a rest day in the middle to break it up.
We just had that and about to set off again.
So I'm going to close this video and start the next one.
Thank you again for watching and this is my life.
