Spending the day exploring Sintra in Portugal was like being in a fairytale come to life (well, according to Max). It's a really beautiful place and just a 40 minute train ride away from Lisbon!

ABOUT:
Travel has changed my life and I have no plans on stopping any time soon.
That's why I am now running this video blog showing you how to travel the world continuously
FAQ:
How did you learn to edit? I taught myself. I downloaded Premiere Pro and began to figure out how to use it through trial and error. My videos were pretty bad at first but eventually, and with the help of many tutorials, you start to figure out what works.
What work are you doing? I started off running this video blog while doing freelance web design and video editing to supplement my travelling lifestyle. I now rely solely on this blog to generate revenue through advertising, affiliate links and sponsorship opportunities.
How do you meet the people in your videos? Hostels, guesthouses and conversations! You meet people so easily while travelling. Just open yourself up and you will meet all sorts of amazing people. ' Where do you live? Right now, I travel the world continuously and so do not have a permanent base or home anywhere. I am not sure how long this is going to be the situation but right now I just want to keep travelling.
Any more questions, please post in the comments below!
Good morning! Still in Lisbon and today I'm heading to Sintra.
Well just a 45 minute train ride outside of Lisbon brings you here
brings you here to Sintra. I'm actually meeting up with someone
around here somewhere. I just need to try and find him.
Here he is! How you doing man? Finally! So this is Max. Hello! We met in Marrakesh actually
like almost a month ago. Yeah it was about a month ago at this point yeah. Yeah so we were
hanging out there but I didn't get him in any videos because I was just editing then.
We've just met up again in Sintra and we're gonna go and explore around here. Yeah. I have no idea.
Neither of us really have any idea what we're doing here. It's just been recommended by everybody
so. Yeah so we're gonna figure out where to go. It's worth checking out. Max also has a channel
by the way I'm gonna put that below. He does. More content will start to come out faster
than it has been so yeah I guess if you're interested in traveling and videos then
subscribe. Try to hit 100 so I can change my channel name from a string of characters.
Go check him out anyway and we'll be exploring today. You can't really see it properly yet but
that looks cool already. First up we're gonna head up the first hill we've seen towards a big castle
on the top and to steal Max's words this place is like a fairy tale that's come to life. I bet they
get quoted for that. Yeah there's just loads of old castles, Disney looking castles and that's
we're here to explore. So first up is the castle of the Moors, the Moorish castle and it was 6.50
to get in. I have no idea what it looks like or the history here but we're gonna
explore. This is gonna be a very uninformative guide.
I have just found out that this castle is visible from the Atlantic. It's set up so high
that you can see it from the sea. I am way too unfit,
out of breath talking to you just because we walked up that big hill.
Nice.
What I can tell you though is you get some pretty epic views.
Don't do it man, it's not worth it. I know you're Australian but it's okay.
Like a little railing you know. Gotta make my way out. Oh yeah okay.
Do a dive like Assassin's Creed. Yeah exactly, swan dive into the trees there.
This is a hell of a morning climb. Just walked from way down there up these steps
and up here. It's worth it for the views around though. We could also get a pretty awesome view
of the palace where we're going to head up to after and this is probably the
iconic shot you'll see of Sintra if you google Sintra.
There's almost such a good view up here that I don't even need to get out the
drone.
We just found a spot to fly the drone and at one point I was pressing up and it wasn't doing
anything it was just flying in different directions and then the feed cut out and
we're a little bit scary. Yeah. But in the end I think we got the shot.
Okay just got our tickets for the palace which is the main thing to see here but
that's not cheap. It's also 11 euro 50 each which I think I don't know. It's a bit steep.
It's a good pun because we're on the top of a hill but it is it is pretty steep Max.
Yeah it's um I don't know it's quite a lot I think but hopefully it's going to be awesome.
This is the main palace that you can see through the trees.
I'm going to find a better view but I like how we're creeping up on it.
This is it. This is cool.
Pretty sweet eh? Yeah. Yeah right. Yeah. Yeah.
Damn. Nice.
Oh this is cool. When you get to the top there are actually some really,
I don't want to lean back too far, epic views out towards the sea.
Okay I don't know if it's allowed here or not. I think it is because it's fine pretty much
everywhere but I'm gonna get the drone up because this will be awesome.
Busted.
Totally got busted. Nah we were actually finished flying then so it's perfect but they just came
over the security and said we cannot fly here. Yeah. But we got all the footage. Sounds so good.
It's so hot but it's that point in the day we're going to grab a coffee. Ah no I'm fine.
Decided to get out of the sun for about 10 minutes and have this coffee because I'm going red
Well that is my very brief guide to the palace of Sintra. Takeaway points, it's beautiful and
it looks good from a drone. Next up we're going to head back down towards the town of Sintra
and grab some food. This is nice we're actually just ambling back towards the town in any route
we found but we've started coming through the park and there's some really nice spots, really nice views.
What are you guys doing? The great hugging frogs and here we see the hugging frogs of Sintra.
Whoa he wants to hug too. What? Frog fight caught on camera.
This is some David Attenborough shares and I really just stood here filming
the frog orgy. Oh no look at this guy. Come on mate you can do it.
Look he's going to piggyback. I'm not sure if I'm going to have to censor this one or not.
50 shades of green and you got kind of a
no appreciation for the 50 shades of green? No. If nothing else at least we got to see that.
Yeah you know it was all worth it, worth my 11.50.
How red am I? I'm okay. Back to town now and we just found somewhere for some quick lunch.
It's a really pretty town actually I'm going to show you around afterwards but for now lunchtime.
Wait I don't think I'm very... I look like a rotten little turtle. No you look good.
What do I say? I don't know I didn't catch your name. Chris. Chris it was Jordan. I've just met
Chris. We just like struck up a conversation out of nothing but Chris has been traveling for just
over seven years now pretty much all around the world doing incredible things and yeah we just
started seeing that you couldn't have imagined eight years ago that would be your life.
There's no way you can invent everything. At least the next thing right? At least the next thing is
yeah sure sure it's uh the wonders of the world. Good man cheers for playing on it.
See it's not tomorrow that I'm having a campfire. Do you know I was into theater for a long time.
Yeah so basically he wasn't that good on camera.
Well he just said it but no basically he's been traveling for seven years just struck up a
conversation. Hey guys let's go to the tuk-tuk. No thank you man. It's awesome ride. Is it? Yeah come on.
He loves the camera but yeah no he um been traveling for seven years just doing random
things different work with different NGOs doing like incredible things all around the world
spent six months on a sailboat etc yeah yeah yeah and seeing incredible places and no way
did he ever imagine it would be possible before he just started doing it
took the leap and and that's the thing we tried something different.
Yeah.
This is our final spot of our tour of Sintra. It's Quinta de Regularia. Quinta de Regularia.
I don't know I thought I'd cover my bases but yeah another beautiful spot to explore for another six
euros. Yeah we head up here. Cool.
This is actually a very cool place. I like both the rocks and the waterfall.
Yay stepping stones. Nice. This is cool but when carrying an ATD you have to be careful.
Only one shall remain.
This is the Gandalf scene. I'd fight you but we're both carrying very expensive technology.
Pussy.
It means rise.
And we've made it well to the top of the well. I really don't want to lean too far over there
but that was really impressive out of all of the things I've seen today even like the palace was
really cool but that's my favorite. I don't know why. Maybe because it reminds me of Batman but
yeah really that's that's really cool that I haven't seen or been in anything like that before.
Well that is it. I'm going to finish it here and I think it's going to be the last video from
Lisbon. I still have another day here tomorrow but I've got lots of stuff to sort out before I'm
flying on to India and I think that's the first time I've said that on there. Yeah I'm flying to
India next. It's been a fun day. Yeah dude it's been awesome. It's been good to catch up with you.
Yeah and Sintra is a great place. I almost didn't come here but I'm really glad that I did
and it's a really really beautiful place. With that I'll just say again thank you for watching
and this is my life.
