FAQ:
What equipment do you use? I have a Canon 700D, a Canon Powershot S120 and a GoPro Hero 3+ Black. I edit on my Acer 8GB RAM laptop.
How did you learn to edit? Mainly I taught myself. I downloaded Premiere Pro and began to figure out how to use it through trial and error. Eventually, and with the help of many tutorials, you start to figure out what works.
What work are you doing? Right now I am running my video blog while doing freelance web design to supplement my travelling.
How do you meet the people in your videos? Hostels, guesthouses and conversations! You meet people so easily while travelling. Just open yourself up and you will meet all sorts of amazing people.
Any more questions, please post in the comments below!
Good morning!
I've just spent the last half an hour or so outside these buildings
in Juchayat, a part of Singapore where I'm staying.
I've just been practising my photography and I'm still learning
but I think I'm slowly but surely learning it and getting a bit better.
So today I said I have something exciting planned and I do!
I've only got one day in Singapore so I'm going to make the most of it
and explore as much as I can at the centre.
Later, I've also been invited to go check out the Marina Bay Sands Sky Park.
So I look forward to that because I am.
Right now I'm going to jump on the MRT, the train, and head to the centre.
Hello, could I get a beef rendang? Just one.
Oh my god, proper savoury pastry with beef rendang inside.
The only pastry you find in Indonesia is sweet.
And if you've ever been to England, you know how much we love our pastry.
Looking forward to this. Anyway, after I eat it, I'm going to jump on the MRT.
So this thing, this behind me, that is Marina Bay Sands.
One of the best hotels in the world.
And I've been invited, because I contacted them, to go up to the top, the sky park,
and just to have a private tour up there and explore.
Unfortunately, as you can see, it's raining quite a bit at the moment,
so I don't know what it's going to be like,
but I thought I'd come across here first, the other side of Marina Bay,
just to show you what it looks like.
So in a minute, I'm going to go up there,
because I have to be there in 45 minutes, and I'm on the wrong side of the bay.
Top tip, if you don't have a tripod, just use what you can.
Anyway, I need to rush across to the other side of the bay now.
So I decided to freshen up slightly and change into my only shirt on,
because this is a bit of a fancier place.
Now I'm going to go meet my guide, hopefully.
Hi there, yeah, I was told to come here at four to meet a Miss Bhavna.
She's going to be my guide here. My name's Jordan Simon.
Okay, brilliant.
So maybe you want to take a seat, or just hang around here?
Sure, thank you.
I'm just going to tap you through.
Okay. Thank you.
So you said, sorry, after the tour, I'll have a chance to walk around and get photos and stuff?
Now, along the way.
Now as well, okay.
So there it is, the Marina Bay Sands and Sky Bark,
which I've been helped to by my lovely guide, Bhavna, over here.
He can't be on the video, I'm afraid, but it's awesome.
Look at that. I'll be staying here one day.
I didn't get too much of a chance to talk to the camera while I was up there,
because it was a little bit of just a quick tour, information about Marina Bay Sands.
But I hope I got a lot of good shots.
I hope that that looked really nice, because it looked really impressive from the top.
It's a little bit of a shame about the rain and the visibility,
but I still think it looked really cool.
And then hopefully one day I'll come back here and be able to go in the Infinity Pool.
But for now, that was a good chance to check out a bit of Marina Bay Sands,
courtesy of Marina Bay Sands' social media team.
So if you want to look at more of that, then look at the links in the description.
And thank you to them.
I got that simply because I sent a few emails to different companies
saying that I'd be in Singapore and saying that I'd be in Bangkok,
and would they be interested in being part of the video blog.
So I'm pretty happy with that, because it's the first time
that I've got something free because of this video blog, which feels nice.
Anyway, now I'm going to walk around and explore a bit more of downtown Singapore.
I just went up to the sky park, and I just wanted the view of the skyline.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
I just had my second interview, kind of.
I hope that's coming out, because that looks really cool.
So just behind Marina Bay Sands is Gardens by the Bay,
which is where I'm going to walk now.
It's free to walk around, and you can just look around the gardens.
So this is the Gardens by the Bay, and it's free to look around now,
which is what I'm going to do.
I'm going to go down and walk through the park,
and then later I'm going to come back because there's a light show here.
I actually really like this place already so far.
It's just really colorful and vibrant, and I'm trying to take lots of nice photos.
So by the way, if you want to check out any of them, then check out my Instagram.
This place makes it easy to take nice photos, I think.
So this is Marina Barrage, which gives you a pretty awesome view
over the skyline and Marina Bay.
There's a bit of construction work going on by the looks of it,
so that kind of worsens it a bit.
But I'm hoping I'll get a nice sunset for a good time lapse.
So here's a cool thing about Singapore.
I have absolutely no problem with leaving my camera over there,
my GoPro here, while I lay down here and watch kites,
because it's one of the safest cities in the world,
mainly because there's zero tolerance on any crime.
But still, it's really safe.
Now I've no idea what this time lapse is going to turn out like,
or if it's even going to work, but let's find out now.
So there you go, that's the sunset from Marina Barrage.
I feel like it would be even better on a clearer day, but that's the one I got anyway.
So for now, for me today, that's the end of the video.
In my next video, you'll see me heading up towards Kuala Lumpur
as I begin my overland journey towards China.
So again, for now, thank you for watching, and this is my life.
Actually, I just started walking back,
and I think Singapore looks even better at night,
so I'm going to carry on filming for a bit.
Oh, I'm going to be late. I've got to go.
The show's starting.
Now I'm going to finish the video.
So again, thank you for watching, and this is my life.
