I Got Offered A Bag & Why I Declined- HERMÈS Lottery Leather Appointment Experience Faubourg Paris

Everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I promised you guys on my Instagram and if you've watched my previous Paris vlog, I pinned a comment there and asked you if you want to hear about my leather appointment. Yes, I got a leather appointment at Hermes at the flagship store, FSH, the flagship store and I got offered a bag. However, I turned it down. I wanted to tell you about my experience, asked you guys if you'd be interested to hear. So yeah, I decided to film this video. Many of you asked me questions on Instagram as well. Alright, so as many of you may know, the way to get an appointment in Paris is through their online portal. I'm not going to talk too much about it. You apply for the following day. So you apply on Monday for an appointment on Tuesday. On Sunday, the boutique is closed so you have to apply on Saturday for the following Monday. So you guys may know, I went to Paris twice this year, once in the spring and I didn't really mention anything whether or not I applied. I got so many questions when I uploaded my videos back in the spring time. I uploaded a vlog from Hermes. I went to visit the Faborg store. That was actually my first visit. I haven't been before and I just wanted to go explore the store, see how it is, see the vibes, you know. But I didn't buy anything. I was just browsing. I filmed a quick vlog. I did apply once before I left. So it was the day before I left for Paris for the following day because I knew I was going to be in Paris and that's how it works. So I got rejected. I didn't get the appointment and I was like, you know what? Some people come to Paris and they waste so much time and energy to apply for the appointment. They go crazy or they think about Hermes and I really wanted to enjoy my time because I was visiting Paris with family so I just wanted to have quality time in Paris, enjoy the beautiful city, explore. The weather was fabulous. We went to amazing restaurants so I didn't really think about Hermes at all. Then later on in December, beginning of December, I went to Paris again. This time I stayed longer and I applied every single day. My hotel was right next to Hermes. I visited the store a few times. I even purchased something that I wanted. It was on my wishlist and I found it so yay. I actually haven't unboxed it but I showed you in my first vlog from Paris actually. I think I briefly showed you at the end of the vlog that I bought a belt. It was about a thousand euros if I'm not mistaken. So that's it. I haven't bought anything else. So yes, I kept applying while I was in Paris and I constantly got emails that it wasn't successful. I knew it's really difficult especially during the holidays. So then I came back to the UK and I was like, you know what, I'll just keep applying. I started applying actually during the summer. I applied a few times as well but I only applied on a Saturday and that's because you guys, as I mentioned, the store is closed on Sunday so when you apply on Saturday you get the appointment on Monday and this way if I got the appointment because I would get the confirmation on Saturday evening I would know I'll have one day to book a hotel if I have to, find tickets, you know, get ready for my trip to Paris. Maybe I applied for like a month straight so four or five times max during the summer. On long Saturdays didn't get any luck so I gave up. Going back to December now. When I came back from my Paris holiday I was like, you know what, I'll just apply every single day and see if I can get an appointment. So that's what I did. I started applying every day however I heard from friends that the reason I'm not getting the appointment is because I'm in the UK and they can track you. So a friend of mine actually applied while she was here in the UK but that was like maybe a year ago and she did get an appointment. She went to Paris and they gave her a bag, they gave her a Birkin. So due to the high demand, while I was in Paris I spoke to the receptionist and they told me that it is extremely difficult to get an appointment through the lottery system now because so many people apply. Not only people who are visiting Paris who are staying in Paris but also people from the neighbouring countries apply every single day as well. Every single day they get more than 20 000 applications every single day and I think they only accept about 20-30 appointments per day. So that's why my friends also have told me now it's impossible to get an appointment if you're not in Paris because they can track you now because they get so many appointments. They prefer to give appointments to people who are in Paris but at one point guys, to me like at one point it became a game. I was just so not obsessed but I kept applying every single day and I wanted to see if it's possible to get an appointment. I was doing it for fun, I was doing it, it was just a game for me as I said. I just wanted to see if it's possible to get an appointment if you're not in Paris. So I kept applying and applying and applying every single day after I came back from Paris in December and finally on the 28th of December I got the appointment for the following day for the 29th of December. Normally they would notify you between I think it was a seven and eight if your appointment was successful if it's confirmed for the next day and I usually if you get rejected you get the email much later so if you don't get the appointment by half eight it's almost certain wasn't successful. Also if your application was successful you will not only get an email but you will get a text message and I missed both of them. I missed the email, I missed the text message, I was out with friends and I saw them much later so I was like I was panicking. I was like should I go and my friends were like yes of course you should go you've been applying for so long just go and see and I honestly I wasn't sure if I wanted to go because I was thinking it's December it's the 29th. I've heard stock during the holidays is really low so I already kind of had a feeling that I might just go for nothing and come back empty-handed and then when I actually thought about it I was like even if I don't get anything I'll just go and see how it is. I was very curious, I wanted to experience it and at least I would know for next time. I'll definitely learn something if I go it won't be for nothing. Who knows I might actually get offered something so I decided to go. Thankfully my appointment was at half three in the afternoon so I found tickets. If it was earlier the tickets were sold out so I was kind of lucky with my time slot but I've heard the time could change so you have to follow a link and track your time in case it changes. So next day I hopped on a train and I was supposed to be in Paris at half one or like 1.20 and I was like okay I have enough time I even have time to sit for a quick coffee break somewhere before I go to my appointment. So I was about an hour away from Paris so it was about 12 o'clock and I was like let me go back to that link and track my appointment and see just in case it moved I wanted to check the time again. I clicked on the link the time changed to one o'clock and I was like I will miss my appointment because my train arrives at the station at 1.20. Then 20 minutes later I started panicking so 20 minutes later I clicked on the again and my appointment was moved again to 1.55 and I was like thank god at least I get off the train I grab an uber and I go straight to the boutique and I'll make it. I get off the train I grab a taxi and on my way to the boutique I decided to click on the link one last time just to see if I'll make it because I was already like 10-15 minutes away my appointment my like time slots disappeared the link wasn't loading and I started panicking again I was like I missed it it probably changed again the time changed again I missed my appointment that's it but I was already on the way so I went to the boutique. I quickly explained what happened actually people at reception were really nice if you have an appointment I have noticed they're actually really really nice if you go and start asking about like any cancellations they will treat you differently. I have witnessed some really terrible scenes from people who just walk in and being extremely rude to the people at reception because they ask for appointments and they start yelling and you know I understand both sides because people some people go from all around the world they go just for MS and my biggest advice is if you go to Paris just enjoy the city don't go just for MS if it happens it happens so yeah anyway I went there and I explained what happened they saw I was panicking a little bit because my link wasn't loading but they were very nice and they said yeah don't worry you didn't miss your appointment literally like a minute later this lady came and I didn't initially as soon as I saw her I didn't really get good vibes from her you know but she was like just come follow me upstairs so we sat there and immediately she asked me what can I help you with what do you want what bag are you looking for I didn't want to tell her straight away what I wanted I think that's the most important and most interesting part of the video and I've watched a few other videos about other people's experience in Paris their appointments and nobody at least the videos I've watched nobody tells you exactly what they talk about with the essay exactly how they ask for the bag because people say just try and make a conversation with them don't ask straight away for a bag right so we sat down straight away she asked me and I was like hi how are you um do you have a good Christmas she was French by the way she didn't even look at me she was on her phone the entire time I'm pretty sure she was checking my my profile probably so she was just scrolling through her phone looking at something and then I even I remember at one point I was like so what's her name um lovely to meet you that's the only time she looked at me was when I asked her about her name guys I really tried to make a conversation and she rushed me she didn't really give me a chance I really tried I think um so yeah that didn't work I was trying to be chatty and nice um that didn't work she rushed me and she asked me again what I mean what basically what you want right so again I tried to go about it differently I don't want to tell her I want this this and this I was like can I ask you something before um before I tell you my wish and she was like yeah of course so I was like um is it true that the cellar uh Birkin is getting discontinued or actually is it true that it will be um from now on it's only available for special orders oh and that's by the way the second time she actually stopped scrolling through her phone and she looked at me and she was like no that's not true where have you heard this and I was like well on Instagram people talk about it um so I was just curious because I absolutely love the cellar style um it's really my style I feel that it's a bag that will really suit me I love the look of it and again she was like just don't read those blogs and forums it's not true like I don't know where people hear about these things it almost sounded like she got a bit annoyed I don't know anyway and then she was like so what do you want she asked me a third time what do you want so I was like okay I'll just I'll just tell her so I said my dream is a black Birkin in in size 25 I said I really want I didn't tell her I already have a bag I just said this will be my first store offer I really want it to be a black Birkin I'm not that fussed about the leather but I really want a black because I want to have it forever wear it and I don't have that many black bags she was just about to go and I was like can I give you a few more options um because I'll also be open to other colors and she was like yes what else and I said I really want a neutral um so I really want a gray and I said any gray from light from the darkest to the lightest color and then I started telling her different colors Etan, Meton, Greepurl, Verte Amande so yeah I kept going and then again she interrupted me and she was like okay I'm gonna go have a look and I was like but I'm open to neutrals I wanted to actually tell her um that I'm I also really would love a either a gold like any of the browns or or chai is another favorite nata as well like lighter colors but again neutrals but I didn't get the chance to because she interrupted me so I wanted to tell her a few more colors a few other like color palettes apart from black and gray but she just didn't give me the chance she she interrupted me while I was mentioning all the grays so she left and she was like I'll be about 10-15 minutes just be patient I'll check for you and I'll be back it took her about I would say 15 minutes I I checked the time and I think it took her about 15 to 18 minutes at one point I was actually glad that she didn't come back straight away because I've heard if they come back fairly quickly in like 5-10 minutes that means they would offer you something else or they would just come back empty-handed so I was glad that she was taking her time and I saw she was carrying a box but it was not the right shape I was like okay this would be another bag she's gonna offer me a different bag so she came back to me she was like I'm really really sorry madam we didn't have any of the colors you mentioned we actually don't have any stock right now the timing is really bad right after Christmas the factories don't work and the stock is very low so we didn't have any of the colors you mentioned nothing in 25 she actually before she left I forgot to mention she asked me if I'm open to a bigger size I'm okay with a 30 but I really really really want a 25 so anyway she was like I checked for Birkin 25 I checked for Birkin 30 in the same colors we didn't have anything I also checked for you um for the same colors in the kelly kelly 25 kelly 28 we didn't have anything I checked I even checked for a mini kelly which I really doubt she did I didn't mention anything about a kelly I only talked about Birkins I specifically requested a Birkin so I guess she was trying to make me feel better that she really looked for for a bag for me but she couldn't find anything she said I looked for a kelly for a mini kelly for Constance I really doubt it um and then she was like but I bring you something else that I think you would really love do you want to see it and I was like what bag is it and then she said I bring you a mini lindy would you like to see it it's in a really amazing color a color that you requested and I was like I didn't say anything I just shaked my head and then again she was like would you like me to open it so you can try it on maybe I think you really like the color and I was like no I'm really not interested in the mini lindy it's not my style um I know I wouldn't wear it so no thank you and then again she was like but madam are you sure do you not want to at least have a look at it it's one of the colors that you wanted it's a neutral it's a beautiful color and I said no so I didn't even see the bag guys I just immediately as soon as she sent me lindy I know like it's not my bag guys I'm not just gonna buy a bag that I don't love I would never do that I know many people do it just to build a history or people or other people resell them because they resell for actually double the price especially a neutral color she was very surprised I didn't even want to see the bag because the mini lindy is so hard to get and some essays even say that it's harder to get than a Birkin and Kelly because they produce less of them and many people ask for the mini lindies that's why they resell for double the value and especially if I got it from France it's so much cheaper in euros but yeah I guess she was very surprised I didn't even want to look at the bag I was about to leave I said well thank you so much for your help and then she said something that really really annoyed me like I got so angry at that comment right before I left she was like well madam you said you're from London right you live there and I was like yes I do and she was like well maybe go to bond street maybe they'll give you a bag there guys I got so angry at that comment she knows I can't just go to bond street and get a bag and especially because she mentioned bond street I was so annoyed because that was my store before I haven't mentioned I haven't talked to you guys about my experience here in London I've just told you I know many of you probably know that I didn't really have luck with MS here in the UK I did have a wish list actually many wish lists for over three years I think close I think close to four years now I've been shopping at bond street I had so many different essays it's a long story I'm not gonna I'm not gonna bore you with that story but I don't shop from that store anymore I don't even want to go to that store anymore because how they treated me and my mom that's why I stopped shopping for a while from MS here in the UK I didn't have an essay for the longest time now I'm registered at a different boutique and I have a wish list here in the UK but that's how it works here in the UK so with MS in Paris you can just when you get the appointment they can offer you a bag without any purchase history without a wish list here it's different and she knows that so that really made me angry that comment so I just rushed out of the store and I that was it pretty much so yeah so that's the story let me read some of your questions in case I didn't cover anything I guess you guys will remind me how many times did you apply I think I counted them when I finally got the appointment I was curious so I counted them and if I'm not mistaken 23 or 24 I will double check but I think because I keep all the receipts I keep all the emails the reaction of the essay when you turned the bag down she was very surprised very very surprised she yeah she couldn't believe I didn't even want to see the bag how did you get appointment and did you get the contact info the essay's contact info how did you get that after your appointment I got the appointment through the lottery system and no we just didn't I think it was mutual we both didn't really click we didn't really like each other so I didn't ask her for her for her contact info but I don't know if she would have given it to me if I asked I yeah I didn't ask because I I wasn't feeling the connection you know I watched your video a few times but couldn't see the prices of the bags guys so make sure I link that vlog above it's the previous video I think so make sure you're watching HD I can see the prices clearly on my screen and on my phone when I adjust the quality so make sure you're watching in HD and I think you should be able to see the prices did you get it through the lottery system yes I did was it intimidating it wasn't it I didn't find it intimidating I just went for the experience I kind of already had a feeling that I will probably come back home empty-handed although I really tried to think positive and envision myself with the bag on my way home um after that but um I knew the timing was bad as well so I kind of had a feeling but back to your question I can understand why some people would find that those appointments very intimidating they try to rush you through these appointments so they can actually accept more people um for the later appointments so I think you get like an hour so each client has an hour with the SN they take about anything from 10 to 20 30 minutes minutes to look for the bag you know when you when you go to a boutique when when you're planning to spend so money um on on a luxury bag you want to be treated nicely you want that luxury experience and you don't really get that in Paris I think unless you are a VIP and they know you you know did you apply for a specific store yes actually I forgot to mention that thank you for your question and for reminding me but when you apply online you can choose any store don't do that apply at the same store I have a feeling they keep a count as well of how many times you apply so they have told me at reception in Paris people who work there have told me always select a specific store and stick to that store don't change it maybe because they keep a count of how many times you apply I'm not sure but they've told me just stick to the same store if we do a wish list in Paris can we do it again in the UK it's different country I'm not sure about that if you have info definitely let me know I'm not sure if you can make a wish list in Paris I think it's just for um for clients people who live there residents um I'm not 100% sure how it works there here in the UK it's a wish list system um so unfortunately I can't answer that question but if any of you have information about um how the system works there if you're a resident there if you can create a wish list in Paris definitely let us all know in the comment section is it cheaper to buy AMS bag from Paris yes I traveled with Eurostar so I think it's actually 13% you can claim 13% just when you go to the T1 page just say you want the forms and they'll give you the forms which you scan at the airport or train station and they will buy you the money I think you can either get cash actually you can um choose either to get cash or they send you the money in your bank account so yeah you can my camera died so I had to charge it for a bit but I'm back for a few more questions um strategies to ask for a bag without an appointment just buy either fine jewelry or ready to wear that's the easiest way to get an appointment if you just walk in if you don't want to play the lottery game most of the times I think you you would get an appointment they would offer you an appointment the next day or like in a couple of days um that's what I've heard the best time month day time to ask for an appointment you don't ask but if you're applying if you get an appointment just avoid the Christmas period I think I have heard so I kind of knew the during Christmas is bad also during the holidays like um July August I think the factories are closed so many people go on holidays so I think the stock then would be quite low also try to avoid um fashion week fashion weeks in Paris you might go when I went and this you might get what you want you know they always have stock I guess it's just it's luck it's luck you know is it easier to get a Birkin or Kelly if you have a social media following if they recognize you if they know who you are if they like you yes I think so can you really buy a Birkin in Paris through a letter appointment yes you can and yes it's true you don't need to have any previous spending with Hermes I know people who haven't bought anything they've had an appointment and they've gotten exactly what they asked for it's getting harder and harder I feel that a few years ago it was much easier you could even walk in ask for appointments and if they had cancellations they would tell you to come back now it's impossible to get an appointment if you just go and ask at reception they will tell you straight away no apply online and yes they can be very rude so but again just try and understand them can you guys imagine how many people go every day and beg for appointments some people yell at them so um yeah did they try to rush you out of the store once you turned it down no she didn't try to rush me um she actually asked me if I wanted anything else I actually I rushed out of the store because I got really angry at the end when she mentioned that bit about Bond Street you know go and get a bag from Bond Street you know if you turn them down on an item they offer you does that influence their future offers no I'm not sure if they make a note of it anywhere I don't think um so I don't think it does any tips you have concluded to increase the chance to make them offer back there you have to be lucky guys it's just to get that appointment through the lottery system is extremely hard and it's getting harder and harder because more and more people apply honestly even if you get an appointment don't have high hopes because you might get disappointed at the end just go for the experience if you're visiting Paris don't only go and like spend all your time and effort trying to score a bag don't just go and purchase stuff that you don't want or just so you can just because you think you might get an appointment easier I told you even if you don't have any purchase history you can still get an appointment through the lottery system I'm not sure a purchase history would help you I'm not sure if it would have helped me in my case maybe some essays do look at the purchase history I have a feeling she did have a little browse that's why she was scrolling on her phone but again it's purely luck I think first to get an appointment then to get an essay that's in a good mood that likes you and of course if they have the exact spec of the bag you're asking for because that's another thing even if they say wants to help you if you ask for something that they really don't have currently
