Have the strongest home record in the league, they've only dropped five points here all season long.
Wolfsburg, for their part, travel well, they have the third best away record, but this is a stadium
where they have not triumphed in more than a decade. December 2012, their last win at the
Westfalenstadion. Change for each team today, we will run through the lineups once play is underway,
but in both cases those alterations are enforced for Dortmund. Raphael Guerreiro has a minor calf
problem, so Marius Wolf comes in to play it right back, Riesen switches to the left. Wolfsburg are
without defender Lacroix for the rest of the season because of a shoulder issue, but Micky
van der Ven comes back from suspension in what should be a seamless transition.
Semperant from the far side now, and Bellingham, first clear sight of goal of this game.
They aim to be for a third time decisively, it's in by Riesen, and the header is looping
and decisive. Adeyemi, that is a nerve settler for Borussia Dortmund.
He spoke about the first 15 minutes, he got through that first 15 minutes, it didn't happen
Wolfsburg. And look at the build-up, he hits that nice Dageler ball, that opens up, you see now the
back line needs to shift over here, and then Riesen, very dynamic, the cross deflected, and so
somehow it lands there, but the header definitely clinical. I think it caught actually Castells a bit
by surprise, but he doesn't go for the ball, it's looping, it drops right behind him, it's a very
uncomfortable ball for a goalkeeper.
Seeking a free-kick, which Arpovic is not inclined to award, and now Wolfsburg break at the other end,
in behind, no flag, and Koval is called into serious action, and may need to do more, and should
have at least been asked to make a save second time around. Big, big opportunities, two of them
for Wolfsburg, and they'd almost lost the focus, Wolf doesn't get the free-kick, and then it's
very, very quick, no offside, and then the speed, that is a bit of the problem of the centres,
but then you see Koval, I mean Koval has been outstanding, the only thing is, the only problem
for Koval, everybody remembers that high-profile mistake, that even the second chance. Blocking
behind, taken by Wimmer, and Iemi escapes, ahead of him, Marlon through the middle,
Daniel Marlon for Dortmund, who opted to pass to Bellingham rather than go it alone,
and the chance has gone. Oh, that was a terrible decision here by Marlon, he just should have gone
for it, sometimes you need to be selfish, again the speed at the vertical play here,
but by the end, he's amazing, very tight, I think it was the offside, you have to go yourself.
Two for Dortmund, Sebastian Allé, so admired by so many, far and wide, for his battles
with ill health, and the way that he's bounced back, fifth goal of the season,
and Dortmund in a position of somewhat greater comfort now. 100%, that's the moment,
cannot lose, we said it before, he cannot lose the ball here, and then it's so strict again,
look, look, look what that Emi does, he just actually walks past Bournoyer, it's too quick,
too quick for him, but then it's the simplest of finish, a low hard cross in the centre,
and Haller, an experienced striker, but here the architect of this goal, definitely,
John Adehimi again, with his speed, with his acceleration. Passage here, leading through
first half goals from Adehimi and Haller. And now Dortmund in again, Grant to Marlon,
equals 3-0, it looks likely that Dortmund are going to clear this potentially tricky hurdle.
Yeah, I think now there is no way back, normally, you're getting caught away to Dortmund
on the counter-attack all the time when you lose the ball that quick, and then it's this one run,
this one completely opens up the defence again, Marlon goes on full sprint, nobody follows him,
thank you very much, just an easy tap in here, and Braun today, you know, the last few weeks,
he didn't really play that well anymore, that, I would call it, impactful as it was in the first
part of the season.
And Bellingham tries one, and it's pushed against the bar by the goalkeeper,
and the spin of the ball takes it in. Teammates run to Jude Bellingham, power and accuracy in
the shot, the goalkeeper did well to save it, and then his luck was very much out as it hit first
bar, and then grass, and span back in. We see here the movement of Bellingham,
goes again through the whole way, now actually we thought about he could have played to Adeyemi,
but he stays on the ball, and now look what he does here to Arnold, puts him down on his
backside, and then it's a strike, which is a bit of a fluke, it's a bit of a free goal here,
let's have a look from behind, he touches it very well onto the crossbar, and the way it kind of
drifted or spins back, look at the spin of this ball, actually a great save by Castells,
to be fair in the first place. If the result speaks for itself. It works, it really works
for Dortmund, memory five goals against Freiburg, four against Hertha, six against Cologne,
four against Eintracht Frankfurt, just a couple of match days ago, scored 22 league goals in their
last six and a half games. Adeyemi on the burst, there it is on the cover, oh and they played it
straight to Allaire, and Adeyemi, it just gets worse for Wolfsburg, and more and more joyous
for Borussia Dortmund. You know it's Christmas Eve as well, lots of presents, today I think
especially Sebastian Bono also wants to forget, let's have a look at that, so again that's the
normal way, now we see Bono gets the ball, he wins it, no time, absolutely no issue, he doesn't put
his head up, Halle sneaks in, he just doesn't see Allaire, Adeyemi puts the pressure on, that's I
think the most important part, I mean he puts pressure on Bono, he starts to panic, doesn't
know what to do. I'm at Freiburg, finish at home against Hertha, Adeyemi off and running again,
and Bellingham is taken down, is he? Yes, penalty, but it's literally like chasing shadows,
if you look at this way now, the way Wolfsburg was running, six, seven people from midfield
chasing shadows, and the ball, and a few yellow guys on top of it, look at that, look at the green,
you can't see it in the back now, yeah, definitely a penalty as well, Bellingham is so smart,
takes it away, looks for a contact there, stay on your feet, when you have a chance to defend it.
One-year-old Kareem Adeyemi, Munich born, very much in his heart, and Adeyemi has fluffed his lines,
rather like Ilkay Gundogan yesterday, playing for Manchester City, offered the chance to complete
a spot kick, and complete a hat-trick, he hit a post, Adeyemi hit thin air, if it's a day you
can miss the penalty, and I would choose today, because it absolutely doesn't matter.
Will be six, for the second season running, and talk about maturity here again, John,
look at that finish, like the guy must have eaten ice cubes for breakfast,
otherwise it's not possible, it's such a cool, calm finish again, the way it was made,
it looks so easy, and football is an easy game, but it's not as easy as they made it look again,
let's have a look, nice build-up, they keep the ball, and then it's just that long ball,
behind the back four, a little flick on here, and then it's the outside of the foot.
