Hey everyone, so today in this video I'm going to show you the top
foods you need to eat when you are in Italy.
So let's get started. The first course of every Italian meal
the antipasti which includes a bunch of crostini. It's basically your appetizer
lots of cold cut meats as well as of course the pomegranate and melon.
Hey guys so this is a cold cut platter with a bunch of different Tuscan meats
and cheeses and crostini over here and we have of
course the melon and parma ham and this is what we call antipasti in
Italy where you eat the appetizers before your
meal. I like to just cut it all up with the cheese and the cold cut
together and it's so so delicious. I love it. So I have a
melon wrapped in parma ham. So we're really familiar with this but
I haven't had it in Italy before so here it is.
The ham is like salty. It goes together really well.
And you can almost pull the parma ham apart just like this.
It goes perfectly with the melon. When you're in Italy you gotta have a
gelato. Gelato is different from ice cream because it's a lot
denser. Usually it has a higher proportion of milk rather than cream and
eggs so it's a lot more richer and a lot more
smoother. The best gelato we had was here at Gelateria Dondoli which is in
San Gimignano, a medieval village outside of Florence
and it is so so creamy. So good. My dad and I were just
insanely in love with it. It's really the best
gelato I've ever tasted. Why? So smooth, so yummy and full of coffee
flavor. The flavor I picked was Frutti di Bosca
which is mixed berry and even that was extremely
creamy. It was so good. Gelato guys. Monstrosity.
Even when you're anywhere else in the world, pasta is the number one thing you
think of when it comes to Italian food and you
gotta have it here. When it comes to pastas here they always have it al dente
which is kind of slightly tougher than what we would expect and
it's delicious.
Wow. You know how they say pasta should be al dente with a little bit of
bite to it? This is perfect. The wild born yeast
accompanies it wonderfully well. It's one of the best pastas I've ever eaten.
There are so many variations of pasta. This is gnocchi which is actually made
from potatoes. It's very soft and fluffy and this one is a seafood pasta with
spaghetti. If you're looking for a classic Italian
sweet I would recommend a beautiful cannoli. It is a crisp taco
like shell filled with sweet filling and it's so
delicious. It's the sweetest most delicious
filling. It's so good. It's like a vanilla
and chocolate chip cannoli. Each region of Italy is known for their own
food and in Florence where we were, Florentine
steak or Bistecca alla Florentina is one of the most
amazing dishes you have to try while you're in Florence, Italy and what it is
is just a gigantic steak but the most amazing
juicy juicy steak there is and we tried ours at La Spada which was
recommended by our tour guide and we also ordered spiced potatoes and
salad with the steak and we ordered one dish for two people.
Guys my favorite dessert of all time is tiramisu and to have it in Italy
is just amazing. This was one of the tiramises we had for dinner
and it was beyond words. Hey everyone so right now I have
the most amazing tiramisu and it happens to actually be one of my favorite
desserts ever so I'm excited to try it while I'm in Florence.
I'm gonna take my spoon. Oh look at that and it's cold.
That should be cheese, some sort of marscapone
and I'm excited.
Wow
That's too good. It's creamy, it's smooth, it's soft, it's cocoa powder.
It is so good seriously. So what's a typical Italian lunch like?
Well this is panini and panini is something that I think we've grown up
with to be honest but they do it really special here in Italy especially in
Florence. They have many different types of cold
cut meats that you can put in your panini.
You can choose what cheese you want in your panini. This one happens to be like a
roadside, I mean it's kind of shop that we ran into
and you can also choose the different types of bread
when you want your panini. You can have soft bread, hard bread
and it was good. Come on you gotta have pizza while in Italy right?
Well it's pretty different than American pizza. Italian pizza is a lot thinner
and I've seen actually people just order a whole pizza to themselves
and as you can see it is super thin. Look at that
cheese pull. This pizza was beyond words and so I really hope you guys enjoyed
this video. I hope you give it a thumbs up. Share it
with your friends if you're coming to Italy as well and my Florence
videos are coming up too so look forward to that and I'll see you
guys later. Bye!
