There are no roads in Venice so the best way to get around is by foot or by boat.
Here's how you use the Venice water taxi the Vaporetto.
Hey everybody what's up we're at the Vaporetto stop here at San Marco Piazza and we're pretty
used to like subways and some of the cities around the U.S. some of the places you travel
but in Italy and Venice the Vaporetto is like their subway system so these are all the lines
for the boat taxis so it's pretty crazy but just like some of those subway systems are
around the world they're all color-coded and it takes a little study at first but once you
figure out what line you need to be on what stops you need to get to you can navigate through
and around Venice pretty easily. Right now we're in a transfer we took one Vaporetto water taxi
here and now we're transferring over to the purple line from Sacramento so you just need to find out
what stop to get on and then it reads pretty much just like a subway map. We're here at San Marco
and we're going to Certosa so we've got one two three four stops to go and one thing I just
realized and I'm glad I saw is if you ever see your stop in parentheses it says they stop there
only on request so when you get on the Vaporetto you need to tell the driver you're requesting to
stop there. So that's it it's our first time and our first day riding the Vaporetto but we're
learning as we go and it's actually not too difficult once you figure out all the ins and
outs. 20 euros for a 24-hour pass each ticket is 7.50 euros so if you're going to travel
out and back and maybe go one one other place it's worth getting the day pass it's not the
cheapest but it's the best way to get around Venice. So he's pretty good on traveling and
getting around so if he says it's that way it's that way. You always have to validate your ticket
and I'll show you.
Perfect.
Let's see 4.1. Vaporetto the water taxi on our way to our excursion today. Brooke's inside it's a
little chilly right now but we're headed over to the island of Certosa. It's the pretty much
easiest way to get there is traveling by water taxi. And there's Brooke. Ciao.
