This is Tom Ranke, and today I'm talking about my nine favorite foods with absolutely no
carbs and no sugars, but I always put a little exclamation point because there's always like
a tiny little carb, even in vegetables.
But this is extremely important because one pound on your belly or your torso is three
pounds on your knees, five pounds on your feet.
So I see tons of people every day with foot pain, knee pain, energy pain.
Think of how much extra energy you're using on your feet and knees, and that stops you
from exercising and moving.
So eat these snacks and stick around till the end because this is really, really important
that you catch it all the way through, and we're starting now.
So number one, this is my favorite one, eggs.
I eat this every morning.
Eggs are relatively low calorie.
They have a ton of protein, a lot of good stuff in there for you, absolutely no carbs
in eggs.
I think it's somewhere around the 90 calorie mark per egg, so one or two eggs.
That's not a lot of calories, and I'm pretty full.
If you wait five to 10 minutes afterwards, don't eat the bagel with it.
And look at the amazing nutrients in eggs.
It's not just protein and calories, but you're getting your nutrition as well.
You can put a piece of lunch meat with it, like a healthy piece of chicken or turkey
lunch meat, and that brings me to number two, meats.
So meat, when you're talking about beef, there's different types of beef, there's different
types of meats.
There is some meats with horrible fat in there.
So saturated fats are ones you want to look out for.
And the thing is, meats don't really have a lot of nutrients in them.
They have some, but not as much as a vegetable would.
So sometimes no sugar, no carb is not the perfect solution, but it can make a big, big
difference.
So meats generally do not have any carbs.
But meat does have vitamin B12, one of the best things for nerve regeneration and peripheral
neuropathy.
It also has iron, one of the major sources, great for anemia and energy levels.
Number three, poultry.
So chicken, chicken is generally a lot healthier.
One of the healthier meats, and I'm going to kind of put turkey in there.
Turkey and chicken are generally very low fat, very high in protein.
These are kind of my go-to meats, especially like with my kids.
You know, between the eggs, I get the poultry, you know, I get the turkey out there.
So that's food number three, very high in protein, very low in sugar.
Look at the insane statistics on turkey, 24 grams of protein per 100 grams, your B vitamins.
Look at that fat, almost no fat, carbs.
Are you kidding me?
Compare this to any protein shake.
This is the way to go.
This is why you shouldn't supplement and you should instead eat good foods.
Seafood is kind of in there too.
So seafood, I'm going to put with meats.
If you suffer from gout, avoid the seafood, you know, because a lot of that DNA turnover,
you're eating a lot of those cells that gout can make your toes and your fingertips swell.
That can cause a little bit of pain.
Cold water fish like salmon, you know, tuna, these are all amazing sources of omega three
fatty acid.
They're low in fat.
They're very healthy, high in protein.
This is some of the best food you can eat.
I was thinking like crab legs and, you know, sushi and stuff full of rice.
You know, that's the kind of seafood that's bad for you.
This is amazing.
Seafood.
This is Atlantic salmon.
Look at this.
It's got everything in there.
It's the best source of omega three fatty acids.
It's proven to lower your inflammation.
This smokes any supplement.
And number five is not so nuts.
Sometimes these can be tricky because nuts can be healthy, but they can be a lot of calories.
There's a lot of fat in there.
And what happens is peanut butter to the peanut butters are loaded with sugar too.
So keep an eye out.
So depending on the kids, uh, peanut butters you buy, they can be chock full of sugar plus
the bad fats.
So while nuts are good, they're tiny, they're very dense and they can be very high in calories.
So overall you could be gaining weight even if it's not sugar.
A great example is almonds, very filling, very rich in nutrients.
But look at for 28 grams, you're getting 170 calories and 15 grams of fat.
That's a lot.
So here's the key.
This is the important part are vegetables and fruits.
And this is what's really important.
Carbs are not the same.
There's something called the glycemic index and on the top or sorry, on the bottom, uh,
whichever way you look at it is complex carbs, which are great and simple carbs, which are
awful for you.
Simple carbs are like pure sugar.
So if you eat a cupcake or a birthday cake, that's a simple carb.
You want to avoid those complex carbs are actually fiber.
Your body cannot eat these.
So they actually help you go poo easier.
They can cut down on hemorrhoids.
They can help with stomach issues.
So you want to eat those carbs.
So I'll give you an example of fruit.
Number five is avocado.
Avocado is for like half a cup of avocado.
It's got 12 grams or let's say like 11 grams of sugar.
And when I say carbs, uh, what I mean specifically is one of those 10, one of those 11 carbs
are simple sugar.
So only one.
So that's less than 10% of avocado, uh, carbs are actually bad sugar, uh, 90%, which is
the complex carbs is fiber.
So that will actually help regulate your digestive tracts, cut down on hemorrhoids, cut down
on that back pain, those varicose veins.
That is great carbs.
So that's why avocado gets so much attention, but there is some fat in avocado.
So don't go crazy with that either.
Here are my favorite ones.
Now we're going to get into my favorite snacks.
So these vegetables are very low calorie, very high in nutrients, and don't have any
bad sugars in them.
They have fiber, they have protein, they have everything.
If you just eat these, you will look like a supermodel.
Or if you worked out too for on the guy's side, like a bodybuilder with six pack abs,
you know, but it's hard to do because these are spinach.
So one cup of spinach is seven calories.
That's ridiculous.
Seven calories for a whole spinach cup.
If you could force feed yourself a cup of spinach before every meal, you will be too
full to finish your dinner or even say two cups and you're gaining no calories.
You're getting great fiber, you're getting nutrients.
So if you could overload the spinach and eat it before every meal, that would be phenomenal.
That could be like one of the most amazing health changes any one of us could make.
Meat included, unbelievable statistics.
Same thing for cucumber.
Cucumber is kind of the same way, you know, very healthy, very low in carbs, great snack.
So you know what?
Maybe instead of reaching for chips, chop some cucumbers, start buying some cucumber
when you go to the grocery store today.
And I'm going to lump in there, broccoli, peppers, onions.
There's a ton more vegetables that I can't even think of, but I'm going to include a
chart below of all these vegetables.
And this is why this is so important.
The more of these vegetables you can eat, and there is a great book called eat to live.
And basically their whole diet was force feed yourself these vegetables before you eat your
snack.
You can still eat your snack, but if you stuff yourself full of spinach or cucumber ahead
of time, you will not want to eat as much chips and dip later.
So that's the real secret.
That's my tip.
So whenever I want to lose weight, you know, cause I used to wrestle in college and high
school too.
That's how I would cut down a lot of weight.
I would force feed myself spinach and you know, these vegetables like cucumber and you
don't have room in your stomach left to eat anything else.
That way your weight drops like a cliff.
I would drop like 20, 30 pounds, you know, in a very relative short time period in a
relatively healthy way too, you know, cause I still play in sports.
So that's kind of my favorite tip, vegetable oils and seed oils.
So this is fried foods.
You know, when you're pouring a lot of oil, the non-good oils into your frying pans is
these are called Omega six fatty acid.
The problem is all these oils are combined with the low carb foods and it raises your
ratio of Omega six fatty acids compared to your Omega three fatty acids.
This leads to inflammation.
So these oils have high Omega six contents.
This has been shown clinically to raise your Omega six to Omega three ratio.
These are considered good oils, but wait, we're not done yet.
I got roasted in a previous video for basically saying that these oils overlap because there's
a lot, there's saturated fats, monounsaturated fats, Omega three.
So the bottom line is you just want to avoid oils as much as possible to make those no
carb foods healthy.
In Western society, these have gone up dramatically.
So there's a study that shows essentially, uh, if you have a high ratio to Omega six
fatty acids, which are kind of the bad fat to Omega three fatty acids, which are kind
of the good fats, which what they show is people who ate a lot of the bad fats.
So a lot of vegetable oils and seed oils.
If the ratio was like 20 to one of bad fats to good fats, people had a lot more inflammation,
a lot more diseases, whereas people who had Omega three fat in a one-to-one ratio, they
were a lot healthier.
They were doing well.
So this is like Omega threes come from like fish, like, uh, you know, salmon, um, like
nuts, like vegetables, um, can have a lot of this.
So the more you focus on that, the less inflammation you will have.
So Omega three fatty acids usually come from fish, especially cold water fish like salmon,
but it can also be converted from plants.
If you are a vegan.
So a lot of plants can convert to it, but at a much lower ratio, the trick is supplementation.
If you're low, you want to get a good supplement that's high in EPA and DHA.
So you don't have to know what those mean, but the real trick is make sure most of that
is made up of EPA and DHA because a lot of the cheap ones are not.
And that's what cheats people of their money and supplement.
So if that worked for you, share this with your friends, you know, come see us in Michigan.
If you need foot care, uh, we have a lot of clinics in the Metro area.
Give us a, like, give us a comment if that helped and we'll see you in the next one.
