This was one of my all-time favorite food days in Japan. I found a hidden gem sushi shop where the sushi cost only $0.07 a piece! Also, the sushi quality was incredible! This is a MUST MUST try while in Japan. Then went for lunch at Ginza steak a must try for all-you-can-eat wagyu.
Hey guys, Mike Chen here in Los Angeles before heading out on this food day and before getting
into this video about one of the most incredible sushi spas I've ever been to in my life.
Let's have a little Japanese snack time with the sponsor of this video, Tokyo Treat and
Sakurako.
Let's start with the Tokyo Treat box first.
If you don't know, Sakurako and Tokyo Treat are Japanese subscription snack boxes and
this month's theme is Osaka Snackation.
If you don't know about Sakurako or Tokyo Treat, they're Japanese subscription snack
boxes that are curated in Japan and sent to you wherever you are in the world.
These are two uniquely different snack boxes.
Tokyo Treat is more fun, more pop culture.
They feature 20 of the latest, most exclusive seasonal, limited edition, and seasonal Japanese
snacks again, only available in Japan.
Melon crackers shaped like a panda.
It tastes like a melon pineapple bun.
Plum popcorn, some senbei crackers, grape jelly.
That was a fun box.
Next up, Sakurako.
And the Sakurako box contains 20 traditional, authentic, artisanal Japanese snacks, including
Japanese teas and a Japanese tableware item, and this month's theme is mochi and fruit
marbles.
White peach mochi.
I love mochi.
I love peach.
This is the best of both worlds.
This is so, so, so good.
I love this box because I love traditional snacks, and a lot of these snack makers that
work with Sakurako has been producing snacks for over 100 years.
So when you're taking a bite of this, you're definitely taking a bite of traditional Japanese
culture.
And the tableware item of the month is a beautiful little plate.
I love and look forward to these snacks every single month.
I could do a whole video just tasting these snacks.
There's so much, and I swear, every single time these arrive on my doorstep, my heart
skips a beat because it just makes me so happy.
The booklets, too, give you fun little bits of cultural information about Japan, so you're
not just feeding here.
You're also feeding here.
And the mission of this company is to spread Japanese culture through the medium of snacking,
and that is just one of the best ways to do it.
So if you want to get a taste of Japan, send right to your doorstep.
Go to my description box below.
Use my promo code dumpling for $5 off either of these boxes.
That's what I would choose.
All right, I'm going to continue my Japanese snacks breakfast, and enjoy the video.
Today's breakfast, this is going to be awesome if I can actually find it.
I think it's in here.
Right now, I am at the Nakano Broadway Mall.
It's a pretty big mall with tons of food, shopping arcades, and I'm looking for this
one particular stall.
All right, I found it.
This is going to be my breakfast for today.
This is Chiyoda Sushi.
It's located in level B1.
I'll have all the information for this place down in the description box below.
This is the cheapest sushi I've ever encountered in my life.
So all you have to do is get a drink, maybe a soft drink, and you can get 15 pieces of
today's special sushi, whatever the special of the day is, for 10 yen each, so 7 cents
at today's conversion for a piece of sushi.
Let's go.
A little tea, and the special today is yellowtail.
And you get a little side dish too.
A side dish of carrots, fruit, vegetables, and corn.
A little mayo.
Yellowtail nigiri.
Mmm.
This is really, really good.
Sushi rice is perfect.
Very fragrant.
Vinegary.
Yellowtail melts in your mouth, tender.
Mmm.
It's so fresh.
Perfect ratio between fish and rice.
A little dip in the soy sauce.
Mmm.
I mean, that's probably about as good of a yellowtail as you can find anywhere.
Don't miss out on their tempura either.
This thing is so light.
Wow.
It's so light, and fries so well.
Mmm.
It's really good.
All the ingredients are really, really fresh.
That is kind of super juicy too.
Piece of fish.
Every piece fried to absolute perfection.
So light and crunchy on the outside.
Inside, beautiful, tender meat.
Crunches are so lovely.
And this plate of tempura I just had?
About seven bucks.
Mmm.
Lotus root.
So their regular dishes are very affordable as well.
This is such a great place.
Sweet potato.
Mmm.
Crunchy on the outside.
Soft, pillowy, sweet potato inside.
I'm gonna go ahead and put this place on a must-try list if you ever come to Tokyo.
Like, for what you're paying, the food is extraordinary.
I mean, it's delicious on its own, but for the price point?
This might be the most worth it sushi place on the planet.
Even when I was at the Thailand night market, sushi there was about 50 cents a piece.
This is just unbelievable.
Plus, you get a miso soup with a shrimp head?
Oh.
That's way better than a typical miso soup.
Suck on the shrimp head a little bit.
Mmm.
Get back to my sushi.
Mmm.
Also, the owner here, so friendly, so nice.
Don't speak Japanese like me? Not a problem.
Oishii desu. Arigatou gozaimasu.
That was worth the trip to this mall.
Plus, this mall is really fun. Tons of cool stores.
Now I gotta head to Ginza.
Got a reservation at a steakhouse that I've always wanted to go back to.
There it is. Ginza Steak.
Last time I was here, I think they only had one shop.
Now I think they have at least three.
And they're all booked out every single day.
So make sure you book a reservation if you want to come here.
So when you book online, choose whatever course meal you're going to want the day you arrive.
So I got the A5 Wagyu Shimohari and Akami Steak Course.
So it comes with a set menu.
It starts out with some chicken galatine.
And then hot potage soup with new onions.
Baked salmon pie.
And then the all-you-can-eat wagyu.
Then you get fried rice and a dessert.
First dish is chicken galatine.
This is a chicken dish that's served cold.
Fresh vegetables.
That was a shame.
That was pretty good.
These peas are so sweet.
Next course is a soup course.
This is a potage soup.
That's really good.
Little sweet. Very, very creamy.
Taste all that delicious root vegetables.
Fried onion on top as well. That's really good.
This next dish I thought was a piece of toast.
But it's actually baked salmon pie.
It's salmon baked into some kind of breading.
It's juicy. It's tender with a thin crust on the outside.
They cooked a little bok choy as well.
That is really good.
This is a sukiyaki style A5 Kurage Wagyu.
So it's thinly sliced Kurage Wagyu
with a seared piece of tofu
and salad and probably sesame dressing I think.
Sesame dressing.
That beef is just melting in your mouth.
It's soft and tender as that piece of tofu.
That dressing is delicious as well.
That's such a superb Wagyu course.
That's where all you can eat Wagyu steaks come in.
First course of Wagyu has arrived.
This is the top sirloin butt.
It's a leaner cut of A5,
but this thing is still melting in your mouth tender.
So tender and much more beefy flavor
than the more marble cuts.
One bite I think will put you in a beefy trance.
First bite of A5 Wagyu steak
always kind of shocks you a bit
just by how juicy and buttery
and succulent and delicious it is.
It's not even one of the more marble cuts.
This beefy dream is only getting better from here.
Melting in your mouth
as soon as it touches your tongue.
Liquid butter.
This cut of Wagyu doesn't feel like
you're chewing through beef.
The texture is so fatty
but you definitely taste the deliciousness of the beef.
Need some palate cleanser.
Take advantage of the onions.
You're gonna get the thing
that's almost pure marbling
and it is so good.
Little fried garlic.
This is the top round cap,
a much leaner cut.
It's hard to eat really marble A5 Wagyu
one after another.
You need a bit of a leaner cut
to give your taste buds a break.
Just the overwhelming butteriness.
So this is perfect.
And the onion they gave you
is very sweet and super juicy.
Try tip.
That might be my favorite cut so far.
It's not overwhelmingly buttery.
There's a good balance between that nice beefy flavor
but still very much
melts in your mouth.
There's a good balance between that extreme butteriness
and that delicious beef flavor.
The Wagyu part of the course is done.
Next up, garlic fried rice.
It's very garlicky.
Nice delicious rice.
I think this is made with red miso.
Very fermented.
A ton of umami in that soup.
That's not your typical bowl of miso soup.
That is delicious.
That soup is about as rich as the Wagyu.
Finally, some hot green tea.
Gonna wash down the
fattiness of the meat.
This has been a really nice meal.
Way different than I remember.
I think the first time I was here, there was only two cuts of meat.
Now, six cuts today.
So you get to try a lot of different cuts.
I think this place is way better now than it was before.
Only thing is, after you eat the Wagyu,
there's only time to get one more serving
of whatever cut you want.
And then the Wagyu course is over.
Honestly, it's a lot of meat.
So you're definitely gonna get your fill.
The one I got was the more popular version.
10,000 yen, so about 75 bucks.
For all these courses, different cuts of Wagyu,
dessert, tea,
and that's everything included.
I remember saying this four or five years ago about this place.
It's a very good deal.
Also, this is the only all-you-can-eat teppanyaki
made by Wagyu Buffet.
At least in Tokyo, this is the only one.
Dessert's good.
Tea's good.
Overall food, very good.
I recommended it once, I'll recommend it again.
Ginza Steak, put it on your list.
As always, thank you all so much for watching.
Until we eat again, see you later.
