Devin Booker is not only a three-time all-star in basketball, but also interior design.
Keep watching to see his private Arizona oasis.
Apparently when he takes a break from being one of the highest paid athletes in the NBA,
Devin Booker is picking out home decor.
Back in 2017, Booker spent $3.2 million on his personal Arizona paradise.
And that's not a reference to how nice it is.
It's literally located in Paradise Valley.
Sounds like the kind of place Carl Frederiksen would bring his house to.
The house is a modest 5,600 square feet with four bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.
It makes sense.
When you're a 6'5 basketball player with all basketball player friends, you need room.
Back in February of this year, Architectural Digest released a video
where Devin showed off his modern cozy crib.
When you first enter the house, you see the great room and it's well named.
It has a huge TV, a see-through fireplace,
and a floor-to-ceiling picture window with a view of the Arizona mountains.
Booker claims that there is a need for a fireplace in Arizona,
but we're sweating just looking at it.
Moving on, on the other side of the see-through fireplace is the living room.
The main feature is a huge custom-made sectional couch.
It's 12 feet across, which is plenty big for the average-sized human.
However, Booker hangs with NBA players.
The couch fills up pretty quick.
The living room also features a huge picture window
that looks out into his courtyard-style yard.
It allows plenty of natural light to shine on his custom card table,
with cup holders and cozy-looking suede chairs in a camel brown.
They are perfectly on theme for his desert abode.
Right behind the card table is a very conveniently placed wet bar.
It's stocked with any alcohol his guests could want.
That includes plenty of 818 tequila, courtesy of his girlfriend, Kendall Jenner.
Booker then gave a tour of his Gordon Ramsay-level kitchen.
The theme with the home, aside from a mix of modern and comfort,
seems to be bigger is better.
That's why his kitchen has not one, but two full-size islands with enough seating for four,
and enough cabinets to store a Costco.
The modern chef's kitchen features white marble countertops
and white cabinetry with gold hardware.
The sink also has a gold faucet, and the appliances are stainless steel.
He has a full gas range and a double oven.
Seems like a lot for one person,
but he is entertaining some of the largest and probably hungriest men in the world.
Funnily enough, even though he has a souped-up kitchen,
Devin doesn't do much cooking.
He credits his personal chef, Ryan, with making most of his meals.
Shots of the pantry show various savoury snacks in labelled jars.
It seems the basketball player is a fan of pretzel rods and dried apricots,
and he makes sure to point out a bowl of fresh-picked limes from his backyard.
Let's hope it's not a Dakota Johnson situation.
Off the kitchen is the dining room.
It features a huge, dark wood solid table.
Surrounding it are geometric, mid-century-looking chairs with a woven backrest detail.
It has heavy contrast and looks simple yet luxurious.
Above the table is a quirky chandelier
that is a metal chain with a light bulb dangling from either end.
The table is adjacent to a floor-to-ceiling sliding door that opens out into the backyard.
It lets in plenty of natural light for a cosy dining area.
The walls surrounding the table are where the money's at.
On one side is a floor-to-ceiling wine cellar with what appears to be over 100 different bottles.
Devin says he's visited Napa Valley multiple times in the past,
and he has a penchant for collecting.
Opposite to the wine storage is Booker's very own James Turrell.
To the untrained eye, it kind of just looks like a colourful LED light,
but it's actually an art piece from Turrell's Glass series.
Kendall Jenner's home was also featured in Architectural Digest,
and her oval-shaped Turrell was featured on the cover.
It's clear where Devin got his inspiration from.
He says his Turrell is his favourite piece of art in the house,
and we hope that's true because it's worth $500,000.
That is definitely more expensive than the LED dupe versions you can buy on Amazon.
After showing off his beautiful dining area, Booker moves on to his office.
It's a fairly simple masculine design with white walls and dark furniture.
Decor includes a slightly odd-shaped desk, plants and a Rolex watch wall clock.
Behind the desk is a chic accent wall that looks like cracked earth,
but it's painted white for extra texture in the room.
Devin says they started with a vintage Italian leather couch opposite to the desk
and built off that piece.
The other seating in the room is two Sherpa armchairs that look like literal teddy bears.
He can sit down in a plush hug while he negotiates his NBA contracts.
His master bedroom is the most sleek-looking room in the house.
It has a black cabinet under the big-screen TV and black light fixtures.
His bed frame and side tables are also black and modern.
The bed is the main staple of the room.
It's custom-made and gigantic to account for Booker's height.
It is a splash of light with a beige throw in an otherwise pretty dark room.
And of course, there's an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling window panels
that look out into the backyard.
The master also features a walk-in closet with teak-coloured shelves.
That's where he displays his extensive sneaker collection.
He claims to not be much of a sneakerhead anymore,
but his collection of over 50 pairs of Nikes would beg to differ.
His favourite shoes are Converse and he appears to have every colour the brand makes.
You gotta love a shoe wall that looks like you just opened a packet of Skittles.
In addition to collecting wine and sneakers, Devin also is a car guy.
His house has a six-bay garage that houses his collection of vintage vehicles.
He points out his black Buick Regal GNX.
The car was only made in 1987 and it's one of only 547.
And it was made in partnership with McLaren.
It's currently worth up to $308,000.
That makes it even more heartbreaking when you hear that Devin doesn't drive it much.
He says it looks nice sitting there.
Guess we can't argue with that.
The other car that he points out is his 1959 Chevy Impala ragtop.
He calls it his pretty penny, which is probably in reference to its copper-toned paint job.
His is all original and it's worth over $255,000.
It's his favourite.
It was the first classic car he bought and it got him into collecting.
Said collection is mostly Chevys.
His love runs deep for Chevys.
Across the courtyard is his game house.
When he bought the home in 2017, there was a fully functional guest house with a kitchen.
But he converted it into a hangout space.
He has another huge sectional couch, jars of candy,
a standing arcade game, a movie theatre and recording studio.
It's crazy how many celebrities, who aren't musicians, have recording studios in their house.
One of the staples of the game house is his pool table,
which has Kentucky University billiard balls.
Gotta rep the alma mater.
The entire house is shaped like a U that surrounds a huge courtyard in the middle.
His is taken up completely by an infinity-edged pool and jacuzzi with a row of lounge chairs.
There are ledges around the property, one with a ping pong table,
and there is an outdoor retractable screen and projector
for watching movies or basketball games while he's swimming around.
Devin Booker has the ultimate hangout pad and the surrounding area is gorgeous.
His great room, as well as other areas of the house,
has a beautiful view of the Arizona Mountain Preserve.
And it's clear that Booker has been inspired by his team's home state.
He was attracted to his house because of its connection to the surrounding landscape.
He says that when someone approaches the house,
it's deceiving because it appears there's not much going on.
But once people enter and they see the pool and the yard and all the adjoining rooms,
they're taken aback.
He likes that such a streamlined home can still be a big reveal.
In the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic,
he and his girlfriend Kendall Jenner took a road trip around Arizona.
They visited the Rodan Crater and were astonished by the artwork created
within an extinct volcano by James Turrell.
That's why they both chose to purchase his pieces and feature them in their homes.
The design of Booker's home is truly a beautiful mix of modern and cozy.
He credits the finished product to his design team,
Kathleen and Tommy Clements, of Clements Design in LA.
His decision to hire them was probably influenced by Kendall Jenner.
They designed her Los Angeles home, which was also featured in Architectural Digest.
The design duo created Devin's eye for design and say he's very effortlessly cool and stylish.
Booker also says he is fortunate to be surrounded by people with great style
and that he can sponge off of.
We can only assume he's talking about his girlfriend and her family,
who are famous for having very striking and distinct houses.
And this house wasn't Booker's first foray into design.
His future home has been on his mind since he was a kid.
He says when he was growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan,
that he would close his eyes before bed and imagine what his house would look like.
Claims the size and the shape would be different depending on the night,
but the interiors were always the same mix of modern and nostalgic.
Imagine manifesting your dream home as a kid and having it by the time you're 25.
Clearly, Devin Booker has a penchant for design and it shows in his beautiful home.
He somehow achieved paradise in one of the hottest and driest places in America.
But Arizona is not for the faint of heart or the shallow pockets.
The median housing cost is $433,000.
Better start saving.
