This is a story about Captain James Cook and his first fleet. There were 11 ships in the fleet. The main ship was the Endeavour. And in one of the ships there were 49 women and one man. Oh wait, that's my dad. And one man. At that time England had many crimes committed because many families were poor and had So the British government sent Captain James Cook to this made-up land that was in agreement to exist. But it does not exist. So they traveled far and wide and instead found terra australis. They were meant to reach Botany Bay but missed the turn. So they turned back but they saw Botany Bay. They thought it was an unsuitable place to settle down because the soil was poor, there was hardly any fresh water and there were hardly any trees that grew from. So they traveled all the way down to Sydney Cove. This place was perfect as there were lots of trees that grew through. The soil was rich and there was lots of fresh water. They settled down there and made the convicts work from sunrise till sunset. Once the convicts were freed from prison they still had to work very hard to earn a living. Male convicts were given free plots of the farm land. The female convicts ended up being domestic servants. More ships were sent to terra australis and Captain James Cook decided to explore further so he needed more supplies and stopped at Hawaii. He had to live with the Hawaiians for a while but unfortunately he was killed by a native Hawaiian. The convicts continued working and living in terra australis and lots of them started families and now this place is called Australia.
