Korean street food tour in myeongdong

Hey guys, it's Brittney and today we are here in Myeongdong which is located in Seoul, Korea and we're going to be trying a bunch of their street food here. So this is a very touristy area, very popular for shopping and their street food and a whole bunch of other stuff. So yeah, let's hop right on to the video guys. Okay, so we just got some fried chicken and I think they but it looks really good. I normally like I don't eat fried chicken because it's like not healthy but I'm going to try it. Okay, this is sweet. It's okay. Let's try some. This is like a sweet sauce. Oh, that's really crispy. Bro, that's so crispy. Okay, it has a sweet sauce over it obviously. So it's going to be spicy but it's really not that spicy. Bro, that's so crispy. What are we getting now? We're going to get some ice cream. Both sides are busy. We'll just stand in the middle. We've actually already tried this one but we're eating it again because this one's really good. So basically they have the wafer which is kind of like bready and then the ice cream which is like vanilla and then this little part which is like the honey and it's really good but it has like a lot of wax on it. Some people spit out the wax but I just eat it because it's still good. I want to bite it but I can't bite it. Wait, this is so good. I thought the honey makes it really sweet. The wafer is like crispy. Not the wafer but like the fish parts like really crispy. Surprisingly because they're all just sitting there but it's really crunchy. I'll push it down more so it doesn't melt. I don't think that's how it works but sure. No, I'll push it down so it doesn't melt onto your hands. You know what I mean. Basically I think we just got another one of these Korean pancakes. I've had a few but I have never had one with like seeds inside before so I think it's like glazed with like the sweet stuff and it's kind of crispy. It's like kind of like a donut. Guys, it's so good. So the outside is a little caramelized with some probably like honey or syrup and the inside has like a ton of seeds. It's just kind of crispy but also kind of chewy so like a little bit of a mochi texture. Oh that's really good. Tastes like a donut. Like a really good donut. I like this one. Okay so basically we have a little egg bun here and the bottom is like this like bready base and the top of it's like a little egg and we have all these little seeds on top so I don't know if there's seeds inside because I've seen videos of people eating this and there's like seeds. Anyways let's try it. Oh wait that's really underwhelming. There's nothing inside. Wait. Okay it tastes really seedy obviously from all the seeds but like I don't know the bread's kind of fluffy. It's almost like moist cake and then they put like an egg on top and then you have all the seeds as well. Yeah that's all there's in it. There's nothing else in it. Yeah it's kind of like a cake bread that's savory with an egg on top and some seeds so I don't know it's pretty tasty. I like it. How much is it? Five thousand. Thank you. I'm gonna get some. This looks like it's gonna taste like what it is. Basically I think we just bought a bunch of but I've never bought these before. They always have those like ones that are wrapped in like bread as well but anyways we're gonna try it. That's a really chewy sausage. It just tastes like regular sausage. I'm gonna try a second one and see if it tastes different. I bet you it tastes the same but okay all right. Yeah that tastes the same. How about the one underneath the cheese one? I don't know if that's cheese or if it's like you know when they have rice cake? This could be rice cake guys but anyways I'm gonna try it see what this one's like. Okay I'm pretty sure it's literally just a sausage on the outside. Wait no no no sorry it's like rice cake wrapped with sausage. Yeah I'm scared it's gonna be spicy bro. I feel like this is gonna stain something if I like drop it. Does it look good? Nope. No? I mean I know what this tastes like but I haven't ever had the spicy one before and I watched somebody eat this and they said it was really spicy but I like spicy food so I don't think it should be a problem but let's see what this tastes like. It's not that spicy guys. Oh wait okay this is like a really spicy aftertaste so the thing is like I really like spice so it's okay with me. Oh wait don't get run over babe. It really just tastes like okay imagine like the one time spicy black noodle by Samyang and you put that sauce and water it down a little bit and then you dip this inside that's what that tastes like to me. Otherwise it's really good if you like spicy food you'll like this rice cake so I mean fish cake. Okay so basically there are a lot more vendors but we couldn't get to them all obviously because if I lay my eyes on everything and ate everything I wanted I wouldn't I'd be very full. So um here are some other foods that you can try this one just well just then was the strawberry one it's like strawberry covered in red bean and mochi it was so delicious and then this one over here is the oh my god what am I what am I saying um Korean dumplings that's what they are but I forgot the name that you specifically call them but just they're Korean dumplings just know that and they had like an original flavor and also a kimchi flavor which was quite mild actually so it wasn't too spicy but I guess that you know varies from vendor to vendor as well but these are really good and then we just like sauce them down with some stuff so yeah that was really really really tasty um so yeah nice for a warm day oh and these over here are just fish cakes these are pretty common when you go to just any area with street food um and then this one over here is kind of special actually um it's um a steak stand obviously I don't think this is so-called traditional but um it's very tasty still and this one's a little more on the pricey side I think this is like twelve thousand won to fifteen thousand won which works out to be about like fifteen to seventeen dollars here in Australia but it was really tasty and basically what he starts off with is a bunch of these um bean sprouts and he kind of cooks them up and then after he cooks those up he cooks up the meat and it's some sort of like premium beef of I don't know what kind of beef it's really marbled and delicious and like soft he cooks up the beef and then he serves it as it is and it's really delicious he kind of like sauces up the beef I think I don't know actually I don't know if it's just like glistening or like what it is but yeah it tastes really good guys and then this right here is the finished product so um as I said before it's glistening in all its glory and it actually tastes really yummy as well I feel like it's a nice mix because like the bean sprouts are kind of refreshing and then the meat's kind of like you know solid so it's like a good mix oh and then these are just like sausages again and there's some steak on a stick you know oh pork belly my bad um but yeah this is this is quite common as well um we ate something pretty similar before I'm pretty sure and then this over here these are honey pancakes so this is my favorite version of the pancake um and yeah it's kind of like a giant crispy doughy donut with honey inside oh okay and these ones are cheese and tabaki which is cheese and rice cake and it's really delicious the cheese is nice and melted and then um yeah it's just a nice mixture and they put a bit of condensed milk on there so this one's pretty good oh and we ate this one earlier but it's probably my favorite one like if I was going to recommend anything like at all it would be this this is like just the cherry on top of everything so they put a bit of ice cream into this waffle cone that they make um it's kind of a crispy cakey texture and then the ice cream's just so refreshing and then the honeycomb is just so lovely like I can't explain it so definitely get this one if you ever go Korea in like the spring summer time oh okay and this final one right here this is tanghulu which I don't know what you call um in Korean but that's the Chinese name that it is and basically um there's just a bunch of strawberries on the stick and they kind of candy them with this sugar coating and wait for it to harden because that's when it tastes best otherwise it gets stuck in your teeth and it's like really annoying but yeah anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this episode um stay tuned for the next one um there will be more food involved so yeah um stay tuned and anyways I hope you guys enjoyed don't forget to like comment and subscribe and I will see you guys so so soon so until then Britney's out
