What makes Pizza Italy's street food star

Buongiorno ragazzi. It's me, the Pizza Margherita, the boss of Neapolitan street foods.
I was born and raised here in Naples, and I rose to fame here.
What makes me so special you ask? Well, I'll tell you.
Pizza Margherita molto buono.
I'm the biggest fan of Margherita.
It's like the best pizza I've had.
My dream to eat here real Napolese pizza.
It's the birthplace of pizza, so that's why we're here.
People will travel thousands of kilometers to southern Italy just for me,
and I personally owe my very existence to this man.
It was his skilled hands that made me what I am.
I like to wear red, green, and white vest, the colors of the Italian flag.
But something's missing here. Pasquale has a little tip.
A thick, fluffy edge, a thin crust of yeast dough.
That's the way we need it.
But when is the right time to have me?
I'm turning red in the face, but I'm not alone.
May I present my family?
Pizza a portafoglio.
A folded pizza.
Easy to eat even with one hand.
Then comes my very rich aunt, Pizza Fritta.
In this case, she's a Margherita too, except fried in oil so everything melts.
Yummy. Very typical for Naples, and a favorite.
And who else? Of course, Pizza Marinara.
Simple, with tomato sauce and spices.
Other relatives like things fancier, like this one,
with garlic, meatballs, ham, mushrooms, olives.
You can top me with whatever you like.
But some of my own people see things differently.
There are limits.
Oh, well. Pineapple.
As a genuine Neapolitan, I'll go through hellfire for you.
Hellacious, isn't it?
Over 400 degrees.
No wonder Pasquale's shop is called Purgatorio.
Like in our great poet Dante's epic, Purgatory.
He named his eatery after the scary church across the way.
On the subject of names, this is my story.
Once upon a time, there was a pizza baker from Naples.
And in 1889, he created me in honor of Queen Margherita.
And she loved me above all others.
That's the legend.
Later, Italian immigrants took me along all over the world,
and especially to America,
where everybody was just crazy about me.
But originally, I came from a poor background, from the streets.
Even stuff like cow stomach and tongue are sold in Naples.
Not to tourists, usually.
Unless you're brave enough, like her.
Wow.
But a gelato to cleanse the palate is always a good idea,
and goes fine with me.
But enough about the others.
This is about me.
UNESCO's even named me as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
And, well, I should be, right?
What a compliment.
Although sometimes my relationships end tragically.
Oh, well, never mind.
Tomorrow's another day, isn't it, Pesquale?
