Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel, today we are going to make a replay of this
office in Alte Povera. The intervention we will do will be as less invasive as possible because,
as you will see from the following images, it has numerous superficial scratches,
plus some signs of stain and small cuts. And here they are, all our
superficial scratches that we are going to remove. In addition, as you can see, the color is missing in some
points, the bite, and we are also going to make replacements of missing parts. As for
the drawers, they are in excellent condition, look, so we are only going to apply
protective wax in this case. Now it is essential to analyze what type of furniture we have in
front of us, only in this way can we undertake the correct path for our replacement.
Looking carefully at our office, I noticed that the floor is in MDF coated with
plaster, in addition other parts are in MDF, in addition there is the multi-layer obviously apart from the
legs. A clear idea of how to proceed and what materials to use, I made it,
but I wanted to ask a question to my friend Pino from Pino Lab, who knows more about it than me,
if the methodology I was using was correct, and with great pleasure he answered me
that he would have used the same tools and the same procedures. So, if the man of the
mountain has said yes, let's proceed! And here they are, all our products that we will use. She
will be the queen of products because the type 000 steel wool will allow us to remove
all the scratches from the structure and obviously make the surface matte. Then we have the
wax stick for wood for any creases to be repaired, the bite to go to
repress the color. We also have that one from the wood paste, more than anything else it will be
for the use on the legs. And finally the solid wax for furniture of a neutral type that we are going to
protect our furniture. And here it is, our MDF coated floor, you see that it is MDF. So
now let's go straight to the steel wool. You have seen that already in a few passes we have removed
all those scratches, all those superficial scratches. Now let's do it on the whole floor.
And here in a few passes, our surface repressed by all the scratches. Here are all these
scratches here, now we are going to remove them, always with our steel wool. At the end I suggest
passing following the vein of the wood to remove all the particles with a
pen and a piece of paper. We can do this operation, even if it seems clean,
there are always residues. I will do this operation and then in the end with the help of a
compressor I will give it a final blow. With our wax stick we are going to fill
these imperfections. Slowly we repress everything. You can see the result,
it came out very well. Look at this part with an indelible black water-resistant brush,
look at what we are going to do, because this part here is very very dark, it is almost black, it is not
an ancient walnut, this part here. And look at the result, the same thing also on the other side.
At the end I also introduced an indelible black water-resistant brush. Why this?
Because the furniture also has black parts and therefore, depending on the area and the color
it has, because we used a palestine, a light walnut, a black and an ancient walnut, I wanted to
intervene with the correct bites, in order to mimic more and more and make
everything homogeneous. It was not easy because, I repeat, there are many colors together and many
facets. The desk is now ready to be waxed, but first I want to show you
some images. Starting from the legs, our floor, the drawers, or rather the drawer door,
to show you, we have arranged by removing all the scratches and arranging the imperfections.
Some we have also left, others are a little deeper, but overall and in the context,
I would say that a good job has been done. Ready to wax with a nice brush of wool.
From this perspective you can see the treated part and the untreated part,
so we have to do everything like this. Elbow oil and for the floor we use this.
The result is spectacular, but you can also do it by hand,
obviously with the polisher it is always much better.
