Are you already registered?
PFAS, have you ever heard of it?
Probably yes, in the last few months, because in the media it has become more and more a topic.
It is also called a century poison, or we have also called it that, in the title of the program.
First of all, welcome, dear viewers, to our today's program in the format of natural medicine.
PFAS is our topic in this program, and for this I have an exciting and very competent conversation partner,
Dr. Harald Burgard, specialist in internal medicine.
He will now tell us a little bit about it, so that we understand where this poison is, where it comes from, what it does to us.
Unfortunately, it could also be proven to you, to me, actually to all of us.
But we will find out more about this in the conversation. Stay tuned. See you soon.
Hello dear Harald, greetings and welcome.
Hello Alexandra.
Yes, we have a not so nice topic, PFAS, that you have brought with you and that we want to talk about now.
But we can't discuss it away.
Above all, what I have already learned from you in advance about this conversation,
it's hair-striking, if I can put it that way.
So maybe you can explain to us a little more about PFAS,
the century poison, who has not heard of it yet, so that we can get an insight into what and why it is so problematic.
Yes, the media has picked it up.
We have had more and more media coverage at the beginning of the year about the so-called century poison.
So then you get scared when you read something like that.
Poison is something bad, something dangerous.
And century poison, that pushes the whole thing up again.
Yes, what is PFAS?
These are chemicals that are fluorinated.
Fluorine is also known from tooth creams.
But these are certain chemicals that offer special benefits in the industry and so on.
And there are damn many of them.
More than 10,000 artificially produced substances contain these chemicals,
with which we come into contact every time.
And since you don't see them and don't smell them and don't feel them and don't taste them,
no one is aware of the problem that can arise as a result.
What we have found is that these things are there,
they are not dismantled, or if so, only for decades.
And because they are used by us in many ways, they also enrich the environment.
Because everything we use, throw away, but don't dismantle, accumulates.
And also in the body.
If you take such substances and they are not dismantled, then they enrich themselves.
And become more and more.
And everything that is foreign leads to reactions in the body at some point.
And this permanent stress due to enrichment is a problem.
And these substances have the nice advantage, they are water-repellent,
they are fat-repellent, they are dirt-repellent and therefore of course suitable
to use them in many ways.
You can find them in raincoats.
Each of us has a raincoat.
You can find them in pans.
That's where we make our food.
You can find them in toothpaste, which you should use every day
to clean the dentures.
But you can also find them in the chain mail of your bike or motorcycle.
In cosmetics.
It's a disaster.
In cosmetics, which millions of people apply every day.
I'm not a skier, but others are.
Or in toilet paper, in burger paper and so on.
So just in things that we use every day in everyday life.
That's just a very small section of the diverse application areas.
And the problem is, they are not only there, but they are in the suspicion
to cause cancer, to trigger the immune system, to weaken.
This can spread pathogens.
This can kill bad tumor cells in the body.
This can trigger less inflammation and so on.
But also, for example, to cause infertility.
And then you lie more and more that women can get pregnant
if there are no children and so on.
That can be an advantage, but sometimes not.
But all these things are triggered by toxins
that are supposed to burden us.
And then you still find them in connection with a disturbed energy formation.
Because they block the energy formation.
Because the certain structures in the cells, the SOD,
which intercept free radicals, disturb.
And then the cell can take damage during the energy formation.
It burns itself, if you will.
And then the energy formation goes down.
And then you're 50, as weak as you normally would be at 80.
And everyone says, if you go to a normal doctor,
look how old you are.
That's normal.
That's not normal.
That's made up.
That's such things.
Well, there's a list like that.
You can learn it by heart.
These are terms you can't pronounce.
Perfluorododecanoic acid.
And so on.
I don't even want to ask for it.
These are substances that fall under it.
And yes, one has found that
here is a German map from the NDR and so on
available to us in the Tagesschau on February 23.
Among other things, that these substances have been found
in more than 1,500 places in Germany.
In a relatively high concentration.
Research has shown that.
Here from NDR, WDR and SZ.
And chemicals that we use every day.
Where does it come from that it is so concentrated in certain places?
Yes, that was a strong drug, as I see it.
Where I come from.
But also other places.
Of course, it wasn't examined everywhere.
But of course you have here in many places where you have examined
found that there are high loads.
And where exactly they come from.
That probably has to do with how something is used or produced.
Where something is emitted.
I can't say that exactly.
I just said, man, let's investigate.
Is that also in people?
Or do you just panic with things that may not even concern us?
And you know, I do toxophoresis.
I basically do a blood sample for environmental patients.
I pull toxins from the body through filters.
And I can prove them in the lab.
This way we treat chronic diseases.
This way we treat autoimmune diseases.
And chronic inflammation and much more.
Yes, then I just took the first four patients who came that day.
And I had their eloate examined additionally at my own expense.
On PFAS.
And we have determined 24 substances.
And these red bars that you see there.
The red markings.
They show what I found in the first patient who is 56 years old.
And then you read, of the 24 substances, she had 22.
From limited to high or very high.
Then you think to yourself, wow.
From 24 we find 22 with her.
That's a lot.
Then the second patient.
38 or something.
Yes, you can see that.
These red bars here also show there.
We found 3, 6, 9, 12, 14 substances from 24.
The third patient.
He had 20 of 24.
Partly very high.
He is younger, 34.
Yes, 34-year-old patient in this case.
And these are all people who are sick.
They come to me because they are sick.
We just looked at that additionally.
And the other is a 62-year-old patient.
And he also has 21 of 24 substances in this case.
And then you think, wow.
That's crazy.
You told me in advance that it wasn't like a sample.
And where you could say that it was a coincidence that you found 4
who just didn't have such a high load.
No.
But you just said, now I want to know for sure.
And I'll take 4 or more out now.
I have more examined.
I just took the 4 samples.
They all had that in high quantities.
And I want to introduce 20 people here now.
But I found that exciting.
And I just said on the day, here come the first 4 elevators
that we do today.
We send them additionally to the lab.
Let them determine that.
And I was curious, because I didn't expect it myself
that this is actually so much.
That it is so widespread.
And you can imagine that these are 24 substances.
We found 18, 20, 22 substances in the people.
Plus all the other things that we usually find anyway.
Colors, paints, stains and so on.
And then of course you are not surprised that the people are sick.
Now we pulled that out and found it.
And those are things, I really put my ears to it.
Because I thought, wow, century poison,
that may not be so exaggerated.
How is it with people who are now visible or noticeable
have no problems, no health problems?
Have you ever examined yourself there?
I have examined myself a few times, but not on PFAS.
I've had a lot of surgeries done.
But that's a long time ago now.
We always have patients who come to prevention.
They say, let me see what's in there before I get sick.
There you will also find things.
But usually not as many as those who are already sick.
And if you ask yourself, why do you get sick at all?
Is that important at all and so on?
Then the first question is, how does the stuff get in and out?
We eat it and then find it in vegetables, salad,
in drinking water or wherever.
Poisons that have been stored there for years,
microplastic hormones from drinking water and whatever else.
We breathe and breathe in car exhaust,
combustion residues and stuff like that.
Tire abrasion.
Tire abrasion, NO gases and whatever.
These are things that one stores, the other does not.
They just don't work.
Or you smoke or drink a lot.
Alcohol in moderation is all wonderful.
But too much also makes people sick.
Lack of exercise, wrong food, fast food, stress.
These are all factors why you get sick.
We have already discussed toxins.
And then the toxin storage.
There are people who excrete everything.
That's wonderful.
But 10% to 50% of people have disorders
in the different detoxifying enzymes.
One can not excrete metals.
The other can not excrete metals and combustion residues.
The third gets his medication.
The fourth gets something else.
If you have a disorder in detoxification,
you store the stuff.
We have already discussed in the interviews
why this is so under certain circumstances.
Because it was never necessary by nature,
you told me.
Exactly.
The body had to excrete what was important to it.
Oxygen, uric acid and so on.
Substances, end products.
Then came the invention of the steam engine.
Then the industrialization started.
Then we started to burn fossil things
and release substances.
Or we got aluminum out of the earth
and released it through electrolysis.
Then it is smeared under the axis.
These are all things that the body has to detoxify.
But it did not have the equipment
to do that.
Now the body is faced with the situation
genetically based on Neanderthals.
Modern things detoxify.
Not everyone can do that.
Those who can not do that
and still catch a lot of the stuff,
they get sick over time.
A part is excreted,
a part stays in the body.
Half-life times determine
how quickly something like this is dismantled.
If I take lead, for example,
which we had as an additive
in gasoline for decades.
You breathe it in.
Then it stores instead of calcium
in the bone, for example.
The body dismantles it.
Half within 50 years.
That means you have to be a few hundred years old
to dismantle the amounts
you have in there.
Or silver from amalgam, for example.
Half the time 20 to 30 years.
That means in that time
only half is still in there.
Or aluminum, depending on the organ,
also about 20 years.
These substances are dismantled
over very long periods.
As I said, these times
where half is dismantled,
20 to 50 years,
they work decades in your body.
The longer they work,
the more problems they can cause.
That's a problem that can
make people sick at some point.
Then there are complex interactions.
Then you have a metal
and an estrogen-activating substance.
You also have an otherwise toxic substance.
How these types interact
with each other
is individual.
You can't predict that.
There are no limits
when there are 10, 12, 15, 20, 50
or even more substances in the body
that can tell you
how it affects you individually.
It's always a mosaic.
We are always used to saying
in medicine, he has a headache,
he's drunk,
he has a stomach ulcer,
or he has this and he's guilty.
But that's not how it works.
You won't get chronically sick
if you have one burden,
but if you have a mosaic of 50,
70 or 100 things,
there's a lot of stress added.
That's the complicated part.
That's why you have to find as much
as possible, get as much out as possible
so that the body can regulate
itself and then be able to heal.
The Haber rule tells us
when toxins accumulate
and are excreted in large quantities
into the body,
then you get sick immediately.
You have a poisoning immediately.
Arsenic used to be taken
to promote the unloving people
in the environment.
That works immediately.
But if I take arsenic for years,
it also causes cancer
and disrupts the energy formation.
That's the Haber rule.
It says what lasts long
makes you sick at some point.
Many people come
and either have a chronic
sinusitis or even more often
tooth decay.
They don't feel it, they don't hurt,
but they also make you sick.
They block the defense, they block
the healing, they block the attack
against pathogens, they pour toxins
into the body, the infections go up.
These are all things you have to look for,
you have to get rid of so that
people can be healthy again,
so that their immune system can act freely again,
so that the protection against pathogens,
the resistance to toxins is rebuilt.
So that the body says,
okay, I can't handle what I have now.
That's what you see here,
the side cavities, the tooth,
the jaw, the jawbone.
People don't even know
that they permanently have streptococcus.
They have high ASL, they have streptococcus
that we find in the chair.
Then I know there's something going on up there.
I have to find the heart and turn it off.
That's not a cause, it's always a mix
and that's what makes people sick,
not just one thing.
Then chronic inflammation occurs
and the worst thing about chronic inflammation
is that they are silent,
they run under the radar.
An acute inflammation, you notice it,
then the thumb knocks,
then the small bladder is inflamed,
then you call the emergency room
because you are no longer in pain,
but with chronic inflammation
nothing happens, you don't notice it
and at some point you get a heart attack
and that has developed for decades
and if you had looked at it 10 years ago,
you would have seen what could happen.
So whether the body is silent or noticeable
is then constantly on alert
with an inflammation?
There is permanent defense,
there is permanent consumption
of inflammation cells,
everything is happening permanently
and we have known in school medicine
for a long time that chronic inflammation
has consequences.
One of them is the vessel calcification
where tissue is destroyed,
where organs are damaged
and thus all physical and social consequences.
People can no longer do sports
or they can no longer speak,
they can no longer move,
they sit in wheelchairs,
there are already life-threatening things
that happen there that can
throw a whole life plan away
or very often diabetes mellitus.
When a chronic inflammation is there,
a chronic inflammation always leads
to the body emitting more cortisone
which is an inflammatory hormone
to suppress the inflammation.
Everyone knows that if I give cortisone,
the sugar goes up, the sugar level goes up,
more insulin has to be formed
so that the sugar level goes down again.
But if too much insulin is formed permanently,
then at some point the cells say
thank you, I don't want anymore
and become resistant.
It's like when a doorbell rings
at your house in the evening,
at the fifth time I don't go to your house anymore
and say, come on, let the doorbell ring,
the cells open on insulin
and then let sugar in
so that the blood sinks,
they become resistant at some point
and then you suddenly become demented
because no more sugar arrives in the head.
The brain needs sugar,
100 grams a day
and the insulin resistance
often even hits the brain first
or you become muscularly weak
because the muscles always open
and a lot of sugar comes in
or fat in the liver
which is called polyneuropathy
and vision disorders
as described by the eye doctor
or wound healing disorders, Alzheimer's
Alzheimer's is also called type 3 diabetes
and another recognized consequence
of chronic inflammation in school medicine
is cancer.
Another consequence
of chronic inflammation
is neurodegeneration,
that is, if there is inflammation in the body,
it always hits the brain,
the inflammatory cells in the brain
are activated
and then we also find rising numbers
of Alzheimer's patients, of Parkinson's,
of MS, also always younger people.
These are the consequences of chronic inflammation.
And hormonal disorders
or overload of the thyroid,
then it comes to Hashimoto's, to subfunctions,
the adrenals are weakened
and another consequence
is simply also when chronic inflammation
are there, then the fat burning
is called beta-oxidation in our professional language,
which is reduced
and if you can burn fat,
then you are fat.
Then overweight occurs
and this can cause a fatty liver,
which in turn causes inflammation,
then diabetes can occur again,
all the inflammation continues to rise,
and so on and so forth.
So it's just a circle of videos,
a devil's circle that can arise there.
And chronic pain,
that's also such a thing,
the consequences of chronic inflammation
are often chronic pain.
But inflammation always triggers
the pain receptors.
And then people have pain
and that is often difficult to treat.
And if someone has pain all the time,
then everyone knows, then the quality of life is in the bucket.
These are the consequences of chronic inflammation
or also autoimmune diseases.
We have already mentioned it in other programs.
Chronic inflammation can trigger autoimmune diseases,
they can worsen them,
they can entertain them, they can prevent them from going away.
That's why it's so important
that you treat these things
because depression, people with chronic inflammation
have a much higher risk.
This is published in scientific publications.
They have a higher risk
of getting depressed.
And many people with chronic inflammation
also tell us about brain fog,
about mind disorders.
Why?
Because the inflammation in the brain
also increases.
And if you see something like that
and know that people are affected by it,
then you have to eliminate the causes
and that is not done
that they relax
or that they go for a walk
or just change their diet.
That's great, that's all helpful.
But if I have causes of chronic inflammation,
I have to prove
in a holistic system
where the inflammation is,
how do they show up in the blood,
how do they show up in the chair,
where are the hernias,
how can I treat them,
what's wrong with the gut,
what can you do about toxophoresis,
about a blood wash,
where you pull the stuff out,
about filling up of deficiency,
and so on.
I've been working on concepts for 20 years
that are getting better and better
through better and better high-tech medicine.
But where we find such chronic inflammation
and can treat it
so that people still have a chance
to get out of the problem,
both when they are sick
but also preventively.
I always like to compare it
to a house fire.
When the house is on fire,
everyone sees that,
then you run away,
then you get a fire extinguisher
or the fire department.
But if there is a flaming fire
that runs through under the carpet,
until you notice that,
a lot has already happened.
And that's a flaming fire,
that's not an open fire.
That's what makes it so critical.
You mentioned the stress caused by PFAS.
You have one now,
I don't want to go into it yet,
but is there one in classical medicine?
How is it treated in classical medicine?
Not at all.
In classical medicine,
we usually don't look at these things
and we don't treat them either.
Of course, if someone has a chronic disease,
he has diabetes,
then he gets drugs that lower the sugar.
If someone comes and has an autoimmune disease,
he gets suppressive measures
to reduce inflammation
on his own cells.
If someone has depression,
then of course he gets drugs
that intervene in serotonin metabolism
or wherever.
But we don't go into the causes.
We don't look at them at all,
and we don't do anything about it.
We let it run and see
that it works better for the person.
If someone has a heart attack,
he gets a stent or bypasses
or blood pressure-lowering measures.
But as I said,
these are symptom-oriented therapies
that save many people's lives.
No question about it.
But if I try to bring in the quality of life
or even reduce or stop the process,
then you have to look at the causes.
And that's nothing
that we learned in school medicine
in our university education,
which you don't do standardly.
I know your concept now
because we've talked a few times
and I think it's great
because you're someone
who says, I have to look at people
in a holistic way.
And it's usually not just one therapy
that comes into play,
but it's a combination of many.
And you can't say that
standardly.
If there's this problem,
then there's this concept,
and if there's this problem,
then there's this concept.
It's really a very individual
solution as a layman
or as an outsider.
But you have a focus
where you say,
with this option,
the toxopheresis,
do we really have
a tool in our hands
to treat the PFAS?
Yes, to simply
remove PFAS.
What we just saw,
these are toxins that we
didn't detect in the blood.
Instead,
as part of a blood wash,
for other reasons,
because people came
because of chronic diseases,
we pulled toxins out
and saw all kinds of things
in there.
But we also looked at the PFAS
and then saw, oh dear God,
he has 22 out of 24 PFAS
also in the eload.
That means we can
also pull them out.
But we can lower the load
and the more toxins,
pathogens and so on
that are in the body,
the greater the chance
that your organism will recover.
That's what we see,
that's what we can measure,
what we can prove.
And I don't know any option
to get these things
out of the body.
I only know the option
and I claim I know
a lot of things.
Because you say, I want to test everything
and see what does this,
what does that and then
concentrate on what you say
works well. And that's why
you wrote on the flags
to make this toxopheresis
more known,
that there is a solution for more people
for problems like PFAS.
That is now in the big frame
actually before us.
And logically
not everyone comes to you,
but we just need
more therapists
who work with it, right?
You brought a nice concept
to the table.
You with a partner
and where it is also possible
that
therapists
connect to a network
and where patients
or interested people who say,
I want to have access, I want to be tested,
where they can find
contact persons.
Can you tell us something about it
before we leave this conversation?
Yes, very much.
We have a problem
where you read again and again,
it's getting bigger and bigger
and it can't be treated individually.
That's why I said to a colleague
that we are looking for
a platform where other doctors
can send their patients
to such a therapy or even
to such a therapy.
And that's what the company MedSelect does.
It trains colleagues
if they need training
so that we are all on the same level.
We have created a platform
where different specialists
with different experiences
can also exchange
as part of the swarm intelligence
so that the ophthalmologist
who has a problem
or the nephrologist
or the urologist
can install centers
in Germany and other countries
where people can go
so that not only one person
is there who can do it,
but also this huge number
of people who are looking for help
can also be picked up
in other places.
They can get in touch
and see who has time
and who is able to
deal with the problem
in a month.
Personally, you can find me
in Wadgast and in beautiful Saarland.
Otherwise,
at www.med-select.de
you can
use the website
to say
what you would like
and then you can find out
who is able to
care for the patient.
Then the patient can still decide
whether to go to him or to another.
But this is the contact point
where you can find out
who can help you.
What I find particularly useful
about your concept
is that you develop
a large database
where you anonymize
the patients
with their age
and their conditions
in order to generate
more knowledge
about the relationships.
It is always important
to prove
and to see
if the stuff you do
works or if it is not effective.
In order to prove this,
you need data.
A lot of data
to make it statistically relevant.
We have laboratory data
for all patients
and we play it
in such a way
that it can be used
anonymously
and we have scientists
like my wife,
who has been active in science
for many years
in well-known organizations
like RKI and so on.
She works with us
and evaluates our data
and creates publications,
case reports and so on.
Dear Harald,
we are unfortunately already through.
I could learn a lot more
from you in this conversation.
About PFAS and
solutions for this
burden that is
so big
in our house.
We continue to produce
more and more substances
and this will not change
so quickly
in our profit-oriented
society.
I hope
there will be a turnaround
but until then,
we will probably go up.
Thank you very much
for the presentation
of this tool,
which can be
a good help here.
To stay in your words,
it is always important
not to use it as a single element
but always in combination
with other things
to get to a sustainable solution.
Thank you very much, dear Harald.
Thank you, dear Alexandra.
I also say to you,
look again next time
and take care,
stay attentive,
vigilant and loving to yourself.
We have now talked about PFAS,
something that is probably
to be diagnosed
with each of us by now,
if it were to be investigated
and that we do not yet
have a solution everywhere,
but that there is already
a solution on the way,
which Dr. Harald Burgert
is busy spreading.
I look forward to seeing you again
next time. Until then, all the love to you.
