The FBI receives another black eye
in the Whitmer kidnapping case,
another piece of evidence that Gavin Newsom
plans to run for president in 2024,
and Obama's legacy comes back to bite Biden
in the United Auto Workers strike.

In yet another black eye for the FBI,
a jury in Michigan Friday acquitted three men
accused in a plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
This came after nine men were convicted,
two of them frightened into taking a plea deal,
and three who were acquitted who got retried and convicted.
But in the process,
it was revealed that the kidnapping plot
was an entrapment scheme in which undercover FBI agents
played all the key roles,
duping their marks into going along with a kidnapping plot
they never would have conceived on their own.
Victoria Taff at PJ Media reports
that the case was conceived of
and overseen by the FBI's Stephen D. Antonio,
who was so successful in wrangling into an operation
some rubes upset over Whitmer's COVID lockdowns,
that at the last minute,
it was turned into a kidnapping operation
that he himself was asked to run.
By the way, the same fake play in the Capitol breach case.
There's much to this that just stinks to high heaven.
With this latest acquittal,
I'm not certain whether the jury reached its verdict
based purely on the evidence
or if the FBI's squandering the public's trust
played some role.
Either way, it's another blow
to the credibility of this agency
that was once respected by all Americans,
but is now so rotten
that it needs to be stripped down to the ground
and rebuilt from scratch.
In other news, we have further proof
that California Governor Gavin Newsom
is angling to move into the presidential race.
Well, if Biden is eased out
and lately, it kind of seems like Democrats
really are trying to ease Biden out.
This president has a pattern at this point
of either inventing or embellishing stories
about his own past.
Previously in his presidency,
he claimed at one point he'd been arrested
during a civil rights protest
when in other versions of the story,
he just said an officer had taken him home from a protest.
He said he had visited the Pittsburgh synagogue
where worshipers were killed in a 2018 mass shooting.
In fact, he'd actually spoken to the rabbi,
but never went.
Newsom got legislators to agree to call
for a constitutional convention to pass a 28th amendment
that would be a laundry list of Democrat gun control laws.
Most of them are already in effect in California,
where by the way,
they're doing no good whatsoever at lowering crime.
You can't even have an amendment
that conflicts with the Bill of Rights
and two thirds of states would have to ratify it,
which would never happen.
But he's getting people to talk about his championing
of gun control laws.
And that's a big issue for diluted Democrat voters
who may soon be looking for another disastrous candidate
to back if Joe Biden drops out.
So, score one for Newsom.
Finally, the United Auto Workers Union
is putting pressure on Biden
after they failed to reach a new contract agreement
with GM, Ford, and Stellantis.
President Biden says he's the most pro-union president
in American history, but you haven't endorsed him.
What is it going to take for you to do that?
Our endorsements are gonna be earned.
We've been very clear about that,
no matter what politician it is.
We expect action.
We expect action, not words.
So the union has gone on strike
against all three big US car makers
for the first time in history.
Ironically, when you consider the union bosses
tied at the hip relationship with the Democrat party,
most of the workers' woes are due to Democrat policies.
During his presidency,
Obama wanted credit for saving the audio industry
from the Great Recession,
so he pressured the union to accept a deal
that didn't adjust wages for inflation.
Now the workers are getting killed by Biden inflation
and his mass immigration policies,
which depress American wages,
making new cars simply unaffordable for many,
if not most Americans.
On top of that, Biden's wrongheaded and bullheaded crusade
to force everyone to buy electric cars,
well, it's enriching auto CEOs
with huge government subsidies
while costing auto workers their jobs
and for the simple reason,
it just takes fewer workers to build an electric vehicle.
The auto union accused Biden of giving billion-dollar loans
for clean energy to auto makers
with no consideration for wages, working conditions,
union rights, or retirement security.
It's a perfect storm of horrible Democrat policies
by the very people the union bosses helped put in office.
They'll order their workers to go on strike soon
and probably lose their paychecks entirely
to protest the results.
But will they consider changing
their political affiliations?
I highly doubt it.
The best hope for the union workers
is the rising public resistance
to being forced into battery-powered cars,
which are starting to gather dust on dealer lots.
Most of the early tech adopters, trend chasers,
and green activists have bought them already
and car makers are pulling back on EV production
to focus on hybrids.
Word is finally getting around
that EVs are not better for the environment,
they cost more than we were led to believe,
they take forever to charge, and they poop out quickly.
They've got all sorts of issues
that make going a long distance an ordeal,
and it's got this little quirk of self-immolating
while belching toxic gas.
They're quite literally the Joe Biden of cars.
I don't just say all of that because of some personal bias.
Many experts have spoken out against the dangers
and inefficiencies of EVs.
John Stossel has some great reporting on that.
Batteries are really lousy at storing energy.
They leak energy constantly.
They leak and they don't hold a lot.
Physicist Mark Mill says electric cars are great, but.
Oil begins with a huge advantage
over the chemicals that are in a battery.
Oil has about 5,000% more energy in it per pound.
The politicians are making us pay more
to do things that hurt the environment.
Lines going for miles in Poland.
These are people picking up coal to take home
to be sure they won't freeze this winter.
This is crazy.
So what we've done now is had our energy systems
designed by bureaucrats instead of by engineers.
And what we're getting is worse energy,
more expensive energy, higher environmental impacts.
He's right.
We're having the future of automotive technology
dictated to us by a president who I'm sure
was once amazed by the invention of the TV remote.
Political opposition to EV mandates is also rising
with the House passing the Preserving Choice
in Vehicle Purchases Act by 222 to 190.
It would block the EPA from allowing states like California
to impose stricter emission standards
than the federal government
in order to force residents to buy EVs.
Eight Democrats joined 214 Republicans in voting
that Americans should have the right
to buy whatever vehicle they want.
What a novel idea.
Eight Democrats may not sound like much support,
but it could be the first crack in the dam
that's holding back the flood of reality.
Well, thanks for watching.
