The center of Srivijaya Monastery is still a mystery that cannot be found clearly.
Even though most of the evidence points to Chaiya,
the conclusion is still clear.
Srivijaya Monastery used to be the center of Mahayana Buddhism.
It was an important trading town between China and India,
as well as Arabia, Persia, and Europe.
You can find out more about Srivijaya Monastery in the series
Srivijaya Monastery is the true center of Mahayana Buddhism.
1. What is the conclusion of Srivijaya Monastery?
Srivijaya Monastery or Sripo Monastery,
was founded by King Sairen during the time when Phunan Monastery was destroyed,
in the area surrounding Malayu, Koh Chua, Koh Sumatra, Chongkhaep Malacca, Chongkhaep Sunda,
and the southern part of Thailand.
According to one legend,
there is a center in Surat Thani province of Thailand today.
The Monastery is divided into three parts,
which are Koh Sumatra and Koh Chua Monastery.
The Koh Chua Monastery was separated and established as Machapahit Monastery.
Later, when Srivijaya Monastery was weakened,
Machapahit Monastery raised an army to attack Srivijaya Monastery
until the land of Sumatra and some parts of Malayu Monastery were taken,
causing Srivijaya Monastery to collapse.
While the rest of the Monastery area,
then the Monastery of Petchburi,
was rebuilt and established as Nakorn Si Thammarat Monastery.
The center of the Monastery has been disputed until now,
and has not yet been justified.
There are two beliefs that are believed to be
Chaiya City, Surat Thani Province, and the city of Palembang, Sumatra.
2. The origin of Srivijaya Monastery before the year 682
Sattarajan Yod Sede states that
Srivijaya was established in the period before 682,
while Seni Anuchit Thavonset,
Secretary-General of the Assembly,
examined the evidence of Srivijaya Monastery,
stating that Srivijaya Monastery was established
on August 1, 659 BC.
This is based on physical evidence,
examining the location from historical events
that refer to the legend of Thongthin
about the establishment of Srivijaya Monastery,
that after the end of the war,
the elephant was stolen, followed by the birth of Suriyakrat,
and then in seven days,
the two emperors held a special ceremony
at Suvarnabhumi Mountain
and established Srivijaya Monastery.
There is clear evidence that
in the year 826 BC,
the King Sripollabut,
who ruled the Central Region,
and the King Srisongkramthananchai,
who ruled both Srivijaya and the Central Region,
led an army from the Central Region to attack Srivijaya from Phrayai,
who was another descendant of King Srisongkram,
who finally conquered Srivijaya.
The idea of the Central Region
or the place where the establishment of Jeddi Burubuddho
was the Central Center fell.
3. The Chinese legend of the Srivijaya Monastery
before the Islamic State
There is a legend that
Minlongjing Yiqing,
who traveled from Guangdong, China,
by boat of the Arabs,
passed through Phunan to stay at the Srivijaya Monastery
in November 671
for two months
before traveling through the city of Saiburi,
through the island of Konpue, Nicobar,
to the city of Tha,
Tampoling in India
to study Buddhism.
Minlongjing Yiqing wrote that
the great Buddhism
flourished in the Srivijaya Monastery.
Most of the Malay people
were Buddhists,
but they got in touch with the Arab-Muslim merchants
who traveled through
to go to China.
Therefore, later on,
the Islamic religion spread to Malacca,
Kalantan,
Tanganu, Pahang, and Pattani
until it became the Islamic State.
Then in 1025,
Srivijaya fell under the power
and became part of the
Majapahit Monastery of Chawa
in 1397.
4. The evidence is clear.
Chaya is not a Karahi city.
When the Phunan Monastery fell,
the land of Lampthong
was established by the Srivijaya Monastery,
or in Chinese,
Chiri Fochi or Khantoli
or Kho Ying,
under the leadership of the Siren King.
It has a future surrounded by Malay islands,
Chawa Island, Sumatra Island,
Malacca Channel, Sunda Channel,
and the southern part of Thailand,
making the Srivijaya Monastery
able to control the trade routes
between China and India
as well as the Arab, Persian,
and European countries.
However, there is still a belief
that the Karahi city is not Chaya
because in the Chinese book
of Chao Chukwa,
the list of various cities
affiliated to the Samhutsri Monastery
or Chaoka is called Gyalohi.
In the end, it is a Karahi city,
which is equivalent to the word
Khamen.
The Karahi on the base of the Buddha statue
in front of Samarit Ongyai,
which is located near Wat Vieng,
Chaya City, is the only place
that Sumatra ordered Amart Kalanai,
the governor of the Karahi city,
to take care of it in 1105.
Therefore, there is an argument
that the Karahi is an expression
of the power of Khamen or Sumatra Island,
which should be the Karahi
that occurred after the Srivijaya Monastery
had collapsed
in 1157.
Therefore, Chaya is not a Karahi city
and should be the center
of the Srivijaya Monastery
more than Palembang.
As for the Karahi city,
after the Srivijaya Monastery
lost its power, it was abandoned
until the Ayutthaya period.
Buddhism was revived
by the construction of a large
Buddha statue of Sila
from the stone at Khao Nang A
in the area behind the Monastery
5. The Chaya City
is the center of the Srivijaya Monastery
Chaya City has a large Jedi statue
with the Jedi monk in the form of a
Sikara, meaning a mountain,
which is a Jedi with a large number
according to the custom of having
many Buddha, such as
Buddha Buddha, Manjusri Buddha,
Phrayani Buddha as the origin.
In line with the story that
the king of Srivijaya
built a stone house or stone palace
on the hill for the construction
of the Patimah of Pattamapani,
Vajjarapani and Manvijaya.
The Chaya City of
the present has been revived
, which was originally a
Jedi located on the hill
where the large Sila Buddha
was placed and various things
were placed on the ground,
which had an air vent
at an interval of 2 cm 2 h,
then the water flow
brought the soil to the
area of the village of Vieng
about 3 m or 6 h,
and the Jedi monk sank
into the soil about 1.5 m
until it was redecorated.
6. Chaya
should come from the word
Srivijaya
For the word Chaya, it should
come from the word Srivijaya,
which was discovered by Sirajaruk
in 775 AD, named
Srivijayanthara Raja Srivijaya
Suan Phubadi and Srivijaya
Narupadi, meaning
the king of the land of Srivijaya.
It means the center of power
of the Siren Thara or
the king of the hill at the
Chaya area, which is suitable
to be connected to India, especially
in Bengal and is the reason for
Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva,
who is the craftsmanship of the
real fishmonger, to come and
establish in Chaya.
In the Chaya area, there is also a hot spring
which is the main mountain of the Siren Thara
used to establish the king
according to the law.
Even though it is considered Buddhism,
it is still considered a type of
hot bath that comes out of the
hill, which is considered a holy water
by having a water purification
for the king's bath according to
the Indian tradition.
While there was a river
or a river for many years,
when the water route was examined,
it was possible to travel to Kirirat,
which has a crossing to the
Taguapa River and is probably
one of the Indian routes as well.
As for the city following the hill,
there is the Omdeo Monastery,
which was built in the later
period, and there is Saigaeo Beach
with a small riverbed.
The important announcement is that
Baan Don is a commercial vessel from
China, which can be used as a
docking station in ancient times.
As for Baan Don, it is an important
historical site. According to the
30th century, King Chanthapanu still
had power in the area around Baan Don.
Then, in 1025, King Sivichai
was deposed by King Jola
from India to the south,
lifting the fleet to attack,
making it weaker.
After that, in 1397,
King Sivichai fell under
the power of King Machapahit.
All in all, up to
today, there is still no clear
conclusion about King Sivichai.
