嗨 大家好 我是Chris 那麼今天呢 這個影片是要來跟大家介紹一個咖啡廳 因為呢 那時候我就是偶然之間發現到這個咖啡廳了 然後他們的咖啡廳呢 東西還挺不錯喫的 而且重點是 他們的員工都來頭不小 那麼今天呢 我就要請他們其中一個員工 就是Bruce 來跟我們介紹一下他們的背景 然後他們的咖啡廳到底有什麼東西是好喫的 嗨 Bruce 嗨嗨 Chris 嗨嗨嗨 今天這個影片有點特別呢 是因為 To be exact 我華文很差 今天這個影片呢 我會用英文來跟他做一個訪問 然後呢 底下我會放一個華文字幕 This is the place to come Because I heard that you have a very extraordinary background So maybe you can talk a little bit more about yourself I'm currently 49 years old I was just released from prison in March of 2016 After serving a sentence of 5 years and 9 months for drug consumption So in total I have been imprisoned 5 times With a combined sentence of approximately 20 years And I have also been given 21 strokes of the cane The first time I tried drugs was when I was 13 13歲 And I absolutely loved it I love that high that it gave me I love the dislodging from reality Because I love that high That was the beginning of all my troubles that span 30 years At the start of my 20s Until recently I've always been going in and out of prison How do you come about you know giving talks to them to the schools And I heard that CMB come and find you to partner with them to give talks During the last 3 months of my incarceration I was placed on a community based program I developed a burden for others who have been in prison before Especially those who have an addiction problem So much so that shortly after my release I joined Teen Challenge as a care worker And I was able to serve there for 14 months And I'm very glad to say that in the 14 months I was able to help motivate And most of all impact the lives of other individuals Who share the same addiction problems as I do What I do nowadays is I volunteer a lot of my time Goes to schools, churches, even to prisons And youth outreach organizations to share my life My hope is to use all the negativity in my life And turn them into positive ones To help bring the anti-drug message across To Singaporeans and especially the teens out there Because I realized that after the advent of the internet The portrayal of taking drugs in Hollywood movies Teenagers have the wrong perception about drugs So to them it's a cool thing to do the in thing But what they don't realize is once you try drugs And especially when you get hooked on them That will be the destroyer of your whole life And also recently CNB contacted me And asked me if I would be interested to partner with them To give talks in school, which I did So far I've been to two schools with them Bruce, can you tell us a little bit more about How you went on the wrong path and what is the key turning point How you came out of this kind of environment I think you know Chris, drugs can do strange things to a person So because of my addiction, drugs have made me lie, steal, rob and cheat In order to support my habit And drugs have also made me into a very violent man So in my chemically altered state of mind I've fought many times, I've assaulted a police officer And I've even stabbed someone And once whilst I was in police custody I had also attempted to escape By jumping out of a third floor window So during my last imprisonment I spent a lot of time thinking about my life You know the things I did And as to why I keep on re-offending And then after some time I finally found the answer I've been going in and out of prison because simply I forget Because after being released Amidst the lights and glitters and many distractions of this world I forget about the pain and suffering that I had to go through When I was in prison I forget about the unnecessary misery My family had to endure because of me And I forget about the promises I made to myself To my family and even to God You know I was just like a man Looking in the mirror And as soon as I walked away I forget what I look like So during my life
