On the 8th of October 2023, the state elections in Bavaria will take place and in this video you will get an overview of all the parties participating, from AfD to CSU to Volt. Let's go!
And with that, welcome back! By the way, I'm Marvin, a politician and sports journalist and I've been working here on YouTube since 2016, at MrWissen2Go and his company since 2018.
And since the end of 2022, there is also the sports podcast PACE, which you can of course check out for those who don't know me yet.
The free voters have been in the headlines quite often in recent weeks, also because of their party president Hubert Aiwanger, who is also the vice prime minister of Bavaria.
This means that the free voters have ruled together with the CSU in Bavaria for five years. But what do the free voters want for the future?
The free voters are basically convinced of the principle of performance, of their own responsibility, are market liberal and are focused on the interests of the middle class, as they say.
Especially in Bavaria, they are seen as a conservative party. For the state elections, they want politics with a healthy human mind. They want to strengthen the police in Bavaria with the most modern technology.
They say they confess to the police and want to create more jobs in the police. A new training of the police force should also be created.
They also want, quote, no tolerance for activists who break the law. They also want intelligent video surveillance with an eye measure and a consistent approach to constitutional enemies, dangers and so-called republicans.
In education, they want, quote, more cooperation in the school sector at the federal level, maintain the three-tiered school system in Bavaria and expand inclusivity in schools.
But they also want to increase political education in the curriculum and introduce an economic school from the 5th grade.
Unlike the AfD, the free voters see digital education as a mandatory part of teaching and education. And they want to introduce a state image campaign for dual education.
And English should become a compulsory subject in all training courses. And when it comes to energy, they see hydrogen as the key to the future.
When it comes to wind energy, however, they will not be more specific in their election program. For example, they do not say how many new wind turbines they want to expand in Bavaria.
And you can find the links to all election programs in the description.
Second, VOLT. VOLT is actually a pan-European party or civic movement. Basically, it is located in the middle left of the party system, but unlike the Greens, VOLT focuses on less redistribution.
VOLT is represented as a party in more than 35 countries in Europe, united in diversity, is one of their mottos.
VOLT wants digital media to be part of the curriculum from the 1st grade, and media competence and democracy should be taught from the 1st grade.
In the future, in Bavaria, most of the teaching materials, such as books, should be bought by the schools themselves and given to the students.
The party also wants a new federal education commission, which will replace the cult minister conference. This new commission should then start educational policy reforms.
VOLT is against mass surveillance tools such as storage data, storage, upload filter or others, and in Bavaria they demand a reduction in the election age to 16 years by the parliament and district elections.
Unlike the Free Voters, however, you will not find anything in their election program that you want to strengthen the police, for example.
But they want an independent police station, i.e. an independent organization for members of the civil society, and the police to be able to conduct transparent examinations.
They also want to reactivate safer cycle paths, stationary railway lines and a 29 euro German ticket.
And they want to produce 1 gigawatt of wind energy per year in Bavaria by 2035.
Let's get to the Bavarian party. The core goal of the Bavarian party is that Bavaria should become independent from the rest of Germany and they are generally against the abolition of federalism.
Bavaria should get more power over its own state than less. You want to strengthen high schools and high schools, you want fewer people to go to universities and you want to abolish the Bologna system.
They see wind power as less useful in Bavaria, photovoltaics rather. In general, they are open to sustainable energy.
You won't find anything like nuclear power in the program. However, fewer roads for cars is not out of the question for them either.
And the quote, disastrous situation at Deutsche Bahn can only be solved by massive reforms and a betrayal in Bavarian hand.
She sees the Bavarian identity threatened and dialects should be promoted.
The Greens. The Greens want to make Bavaria climate-neutral by 2040 and by 2030 Bavaria should receive 100% clean electricity.
In general, more wind energy. By 2030 they want to produce 30 billion kilowatt hours of wind in Bavaria.
That would mean four new wind turbines per year or per district. And they also want to promote other renewable energies.
When it comes to rents, ÖPNV and the whole of Bavaria should cost 29 euros, i.e. regional transport. So the German ticket only cheaper.
And children, teenagers and under-28s should drive for free.
Every child should learn to swim in primary school. The grade in the fourth grade should be abolished.
But good advice from teachers remains.
They want to achieve in Bavaria that in every place from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. there is at least one bus, train or call taxi connection per hour.
And you want to change the police task force law of Bavaria. Quote.
We are modernizing the police task force law and strongly reject it to reduce the thresholds of intervention in basic and civil rights and to put people in preventive detention for up to two months.
But they also want more staff and more modern police technology at the police station, but at the same time also sensitize for diversity and discrimination there.
And they want to give refugees a safe status with an educational place.
The party. The satirical party is bad.
By the way, I already did an interview with the German party leader Martin Sonneborn, which you can find linked here in the i.
And what should I say? Apparently there is no election program of the party for Bavaria.
Nothing is on the website, nothing is on social.
The Twitter or AXE account also has no mentionable content to offer.
On AXE you can find a few posters with the slogans.
And what has the planet ever done for us? Or shit nature?
And because exactly zero is explicitly found in their demands for Bavaria, we will now continue with the SPD unironically.
The overridden motto of the Bavarian SPD is
In the focus of the SPD there are three main areas for them.
First, energy, second, housing and third, mobility.
For example, in addition to the 49 euro German ticket, there should also be a 29 euro Bavarian regional transport ticket.
Old railways in Bavaria also want to be renewed, but cars are still used.
Only electric cars.
And geothermal energy. The SPD wants to expand in Bavaria.
150 million euros are spent on it and not just on the heating exchange, which comes from the federal government.
In addition, they want to introduce community schools in Bavaria.
And you want to limit school classes to a maximum of 20 children per class.
They also want to have a right to a full-time school in Bavaria.
And by 2035 the electricity there should come from completely renewable energies.
And you want to abolish the 10h wind power rule.
In Bavaria, wind turbines must have a minimum distance from ten times their height to residential areas.
And by 2033 you want 10% more people to work for the police than today.
Regular further education, quote, in the area of democracy and anti-discrimination, you also want to introduce.
Seventh, the left.
In Bavaria, it sees itself as the only party that fights for, quote, material justice.
The profits that the capital, especially currently in the armaments industry, makes are simply disrespectful, quote, end.
When it comes to education, the left wants the three-tiered school system to be abolished in Bavaria.
All students should be taught together for ten years.
Incidentally, the headline of their parliamentary election program is, quote, opposition program.
So the left does not put a government claim before the election.
In addition, they say, we will force companies to take their share of the energy transition.
Renewable energies are their focus.
Energy companies such as Bavaria Werk AG should go into public hands, just like the network operators.
They should all be associated.
They also want to abolish the 10H rule and until 2027 Bavaria should get rid of coal.
Until 2035 also from gas.
They also want a 29 euro Bavarian ticket, as well as the focus away from the car to the ÖPNV and a nationwide planning of a cycle network.
And they also want to achieve an immediate permit stop for highway renovation and expansion in Bavaria.
And they definitely don't want to arm up the police, but their focus is on de-escalation.
They also refuse the use of pepper spray.
And they want to reduce the election age to 16 during parliamentary elections.
The Humanist Party sees itself as a social, liberal and progressive party.
They themselves want to put the freedom of the individual at the center of politics, which should above all also take into account scientific findings.
The party finds a uniform educational system for everyone, and instead of religious lessons, they want to introduce ethics lessons for everyone.
Quote, this is not acceptable for us, because the Basic Law demands the world-wide neutrality of the state.
Climate change is the biggest challenge for humanity.
Quote, they want to invest more in publicly built buildings, heat pumps and photovoltaic systems.
How much distance wind turbines should have to the residential areas, that still wants to be scientifically tested.
Reduce the election age to 16? Yes, they say.
And a prime minister should be allowed to serve two legislative periods with them, and they are for a strict separation of state and religion.
The AfD in Bavaria wants to go back to the classic family image, father, mother and, quote, as many Bavarian children as possible, end quote.
This is important to them, while they want to keep the Bavarian four-legged school system from high school, kindergarten and high school.
Here, however, you want to separate native speakers and non-native speakers in class.
The AfD in Bavaria does not want an energy transition, but wants to get back into nuclear energy.
What is also exciting is that the AfD describes in their program that the controversial gas extraction fracking in Bavaria is not possible.
Whether they are against fracking themselves or for it, they do not say in this chapter.
In general, however, Bavaria comes first for them.
When it comes to traffic, car and co., they say that they want to make sure that the A8 is expanded to Salzburg and other motorways should be improved.
They fully rely on cars as the most important means of transport.
In addition, they also accuse the police of stocking up. They also like tasers for policemen.
They think that the, quote, last generation of climate extremists should do more against Bavaria.
However, many demands in their program are not demands that explicitly relate to Bavaria.
Much of it is federal policy, such as the fact that the organ donation should remain self-determined.
Bavaria can only influence and co-influence this.
The basis, which emerged in 2020 from the protests against the measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
Quote, the basis of both former members of other parties and people belonging to the so-called cross-thinker movement is not clearly visible in the party system.
The party itself is called the largest democratic movement in Germany, whose goal of four pillars, freedom, power limitation, mindfulness and swarm intelligence, is determined.
In general, they rely on cars again in Bavaria, but also want to expand rail, bike and air traffic.
When it comes to education, it becomes clear in the election program that the word self-determined or self-determined education is important to them.
So according to their own statement that you should educate yourself freely.
The thing is, what that means in the program, they don't say.
For example, something like self-determined education is heart education.
For them, home feeling is in the foreground and vaccinations of any kind should, in their opinion, be voluntary.
Police should become stronger and surveillance of public places should be reduced.
The CSU
Like a few other parties, the CSU also re-evaluates its federal election program from 2021.
The reason for this, which is almost exactly the same, is that there are things in it that are already being pushed, and you have to continue them now.
Basically, however, more police, more geothermy, more German courses before enrolling for children without language skills and a 29 euro ticket for regional traffic in Bavaria.
Their program motto, in Bavaria it just lives better.
They want to double the electricity mix from renewable energies by 2030, triple photovoltaics by 2030 and build 100 new wind turbines in Bavaria by 2030.
Fun fact at this point. From 2017 to 2022, there were minus 10 wind turbines in Bavaria.
So within 5-6 years you had 10 less. By the way, by 2040 Bavaria should become climate neutral.
The CSU stands with the police and wants to create 1,000 new jobs by 2028.
And they don't want a one-stop shop and stick to their multi-layered school system.
They also stick to the principle of performance evaluation by grades.
The CSU says on the one hand, quote, Bavaria is the country of cyclists.
By 2030 they want to build 1,500 km of new cycle paths, but Bavaria is also a car country, they say.
The car remains central to the mobility of the future.
The CSU does not want a ban on combustion engines, the EU from 2035, and we are in favor of the implementation of the action plan QUIA.
The 12th party. The Animal Protection Party does not only want to end mass animal husbandry.
Founding an independent Ministry of Animal Protection and banning animal experiments in Bavaria.
They also want a queer-inclusive education plan at Bavarian schools.
And a state action plan for the equalization of gender equality and sexual diversity.
In addition, it is important to them that the unfair Bavarian election law is reformed.
They want to abolish the 10h rule, create bike-friendly cities and invest renewable energies.
And they want to help farmers switch to organic-vegan cultivation.
But they also want to uphold the rights of nature in the Bavarian constitution.
The V-Partei hoch 3.
Incidentally, it is also called that because hoch 3 stands for this, i.e. party for change, vegetarians and vegans.
Founded in Munich in 2016 and there is no explicit program specifically for Bavaria, but a basic program.
Basically, they want to end animal suffering, animal exploitation and mass animal husbandry.
They want disarmament and the withdrawal of nuclear missiles and foreign military.
They also want a free ÖPNV, but they also want to strengthen the EU Parliament, as well as an unconditional basic income.
And as the name suggests, it is also important to them to educate them about plant-based, full-fledged food.
V-Partei im Bunde, the ÖDP.
In 1981, the ÖDP was founded with the aim of becoming the arm of the environmental movement.
Since 2014 they have been in the European Parliament and for Bavaria they demand climate neutrality until 2030.
And that until then Bavaria will also be supplied 100% with renewable energies.
In general, nature conservation is still their main goal.
And they think it is necessary that Bavaria gets a more effective lobby register and a speed limit of 120 on motorways.
They rely on less motorized individual traffic and find that generally negative.
They want to reduce the car traffic load, but instead rely on more ÖPNV and say,
priority of the rail in front of the road.
They find the integrated Bavarian education system good as long as real permeability is ensured and classes should not have more than 25 students.
But you also want to limit the number of students in a school to 1000.
And they want more ecology, health, nutrition, cooking and co.
So introduce it to schools, just like sports and art lessons, for example.
Finally, the FDP with rather old-fashioned themes.
Self-responsibility and liberalization.
The program has 128 pages and it says, among other things, that they want to abolish the Bavarian border police.
As well as the lifting of the cross-referendum.
Since 2018, a visible cross has to be hung in the entrance area of every office building of the authorities in Bavaria.
And just like the CSU, the FDP also wants to revise the country's financial balance.
Bavaria pays more to the rest of Germany than it gets.
And the election age wants to be reduced to 16 years.
And the FDP in Bavaria probably doesn't want to rely on nuclear power anymore.
That has always been something to be proud of there.
Bavaria wants to be considered an automobile site and the ÖPNV wants to make it cheaper for young people.
In addition, the Free State of Bavaria should pay for the school route if it is up to the FDP.
Plus a Bavarian-wide discounted annual ticket for students, students and FSJs.
But they also want to make Bavarian schools more comparable to other schools in Germany.
In conclusion, certain core components should be provided uniformly and centrally.
They stand behind the police, but also want to reform the Bavarian Police Task Force.
And really look at which powers enable effective work.
And what makes sense, for example, in case of personal control.
You can now find all 15 election programs in the description below.
If you liked the video and it brought you something, share it with someone who should see the video just before the election.
And here is a video where you can see how Markus Lanz, in their podcast Lanz und Prächt,
approach me and praise me.
Take a look at it.
