Hello, I'm P'Den Ayutthaya.
Today, I'm at Wat Chai Watthanaram.
In today's story about Wat Chai Watthanaram,
there is one piece of information that we often hear.
That is, there is a story that this Wat Chai Watthanaram
was built by Chai Chana that the Ayutthaya army
was able to conquer the Kampuchea.
At this point, it is what I have always wondered
that this temple was built to celebrate the victory
of the Kampuchea.
Today, I will take you to find the answer to this story.
The eminent king Prasatthong was a great king
who had a royal family in a Khamen-style palace.
As King Chakpungsavadana said,
Lu-sakalat 993 sent a messenger to take a photo
of King Nakhon Luang and the Kampuchea palace.
The messenger made the palace a hot spot
and took the same photo and named it
King Nakhon Luang.
Next, in Sakalat 994,
the king ordered the construction of Mahaprasatthong
named Siriyasothorn Mahaphimanyong.
It is the same name as the old name of King Nakhon Luang
Siriyasothornpura of the Kampuchea.
But later on, he changed the name of Mahaprasatthong
to Chakavat Paichayon Mahaprasat.
Another important event was Wat Chai Watthanaram
which the king asked to build on the original palace
of King Chamanda.
The design of the palace was copied from the palace of King Nakhon
in accordance with the image of Chakavan
which is mentioned in the Trayphum.
It has the symbol of King Sumeru
which is the center of the Chakavan of King In.
With the popularity of Khamen-style art and architecture
King Baramawang Ther, King Damrong Ratchanupat
made a prediction that this Wat Chai Watthanaram
was built to be a symbol of victory over the Kampuchea
and this belief spread out
to be known in the basic history of Wat Chai Watthanaram.
But when the original evidence
including all the kings of Ayutthaya
did not have any conflict with the Kampuchea
and when it was found in the palace of Kampuchea
it turned out that Kampuchea sent troops to attack Nakhon Ratchasima
under the rule of King Prasatthong
which the palace of King Lavek said
that King Prasatthong, King Rama Thirat
sent troops to capture the royal palace of Thailand
in the area of Nakhon Ratchasima
and then it did not appear
that Ayutthaya sent troops to attack Khamen
as a retaliation that may have come
more than the Thai kitchen in the palace of King Prasatthong.
Modern evidence from the documents of Dutch
says that the war in the kingdom of King Prasatthong
that Ayutthaya sent troops to attack Danlanna
with Nakhon Lawa or Nakhon Lampang
has a conflict with the Nakhon Si Thammarat
a war against Pattani
and the last war was to send troops to attack Songkhla
which all the information in these basic documents
does not appear that the king sent troops to attack the Kampuchea
and King Rama Thirat, King Rama Thirat
where did the king get the evidence
that King Prasatthong defeated the Kampuchea?
In the diary of Jeremias von Fried
there is no report that Ayutthaya sent troops
to attack the Kampuchea in the kingdom of King Prasatthong
but Vanvalis himself retold
in the youth of King Prasatthong
when he was still in the position of Jamuen Sri Sorarat
in the government of King Songtham
Vanvalis told that
for many years
the king was in charge of preparing the strongest army of the two armies
sent troops to wage war in the Khamen
for the prosperity of the country
Jamuen Sri Sorarat took this opportunity
Vanvalis Orgya Upparad
asked the king to apologize to the king
because when he was released from prison
he punished him with a fierce fight
promising to fight fiercely
Orgya Upparad was the leader of the women in the country
and was in charge of the navy with Orgya Pakrang
because the king of the land
had the authority to control the army by himself
When the king heard Vanvalis Orgya Upparad's apology
the king of the land sent Jamuen Sri Sorarat
with a petition to be released
after being in prison for more than 3 years
and sent to fight with the Khamen
although this war
did not succeed as promised
but Jamuen Sri Sorarat
fought fiercely
and all the women in the army
offered their goodwill to Jamuen Sri Sorarat
and became the favorite of the king of the land once again
In the history of Songtham
there is also a record in the Kampucha Dhammakaya
Chapter 983
King Krungthai
sent troops to Panom Jangkang
The king sent troops to fight with Krungthai
Krungthai escaped
and captured Chaloe
and the king called Thai as Siam Jangkang
Chapter 984
King Upparad Krungthai
sent troops to
The king sent troops to fight
King Upparad Krungthai could not resist
so he sent troops back to Krungthai
This means
King Prasatthong
used to travel with the Royal Navy
to fight with Khamen
when he was the favorite of Jamuen Sri Sorarat
in the reign of King Songtham
and lost
But would the king be impressed
in Khamen's art and activities
from that war?
It is not possible
because the Royal Navy that went to fight the Kampucha
had to go to Phutthai
And the defeat of Ayutthaya
means that
he could not enter the heart of the royal palace
Jamuen Sri Sorarat and the soldiers of Ayutthaya
should not have seen the various palaces
in the royal palace
The place where the palace was designed
from the royal palace
was only the royal palace
which was built as an impressive royal palace
on the path of the King
This is Nakorn Luang Palace
which was built one year after
the construction of Wat Chai Watthanaram
According to the royal palace
King Prasatthong
sent troops to the city of Panakorn
in Kampucha
and designed a palace
at Panakorn Luang
to build this palace
This palace was built
for the hot summer
which means
it was built for the hot summer
At this point, it is located at the foothills of Pasak River
which is the way to go to
the annual ceremony of the Buddha
This way
would be impressive
There is no detail in any document
that states that
the craftsman went to design the palace
in Panakorn Luang
But when considering from the map
and from the Meru Line
around the main gate
If we go to see the information
of the Meru Line
we will know that
there is a mixed map
between Nakorn Wat Palace
and Ba Puan Palace
because there is a calculation
of the Meru Line
around the main gate
which is 29 lines
At that time, Kampucha was strong against Ayutthaya
But don't forget that
the control center of Kampucha
was moved to Krung Lawe
or Udon Lue Chai
which was not Panakorn Luang
Panakorn Luang
was like a holy city
where travelers
can go to make merit
or worship the holy things
As for Wat Chai Wat Thanaram
even though it was planned to be similar
to Nakorn Wat Palace
But this palace
should be a re-construction of Ayutthaya
If we compare with the temple in Ayutthaya
which was built since the early days
of Ayutthaya Kingdom
and the temple was in the shape
of a central point
there is an important temple
which is Wat Mahathat
According to the King
Wat Mahathat's temple
was destroyed
by King Prasatthong
When we look at the wall
of the temple
there are many artifacts
in Wat Mahathat
which are said to be re-constructed
in the time of King Prasatthong
whether it is a courtyard
or a wall with a window
which is similar to a lotus flower
or the temple in Nakorn Luang
It means that King Prasatthong
renovated the architecture
in many important temples
in Ayutthaya Kingdom
By the fact that
King Prasatthong was the president
of the temple which was built in Ayutthaya
in the time of King Rama I
or in the time of King Suphanapum
I think that King Prasatthong
would have re-edited
the architecture of Ayutthaya
in this temple
to show the merit of the King
which is comparable to King Kungsri Atiyah
Because the King was a person
who had advanced to the throne
He did many rites
including building a big temple
to increase the merit
for the people to accept that
the King is suitable to be the King
of Ayutthaya Kingdom
Another interesting thing
is the history of King Prasatthong
in Parachabida
King Prasatthong, King Rama I
and King Prasatthong
are the people of Baan Leng and Baan Pai In
It is also worth studying
that the ancestors of the King
may have some connection
with the people of Kampucha
who may have been exiled
from the previous wars
King Prasatthong
and King Rama I
who was the King of Ayutthaya Kingdom
may have some connection
with the people of Suriyavong
which is also the history
of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya
