We are not going to change this continent with ideas, we are going to change this continent with ideas put into practice.
But guys, there is a huge distance between the ideas you have
and the way to go to put these ideas in place.
Most people secretly dream of freedom from their comfort zone.
It may have already crossed your mind to become an entrepreneur and work on your own.
Even if many people dream of it, very few people will realize it, because the path that leads to the life of dreams is full of obstacles.
In this video, this African known for his successful seminars leaves a room full of young entrepreneurs and dreamers without voice.
Anthropologists and specialists in human sciences have studied prisons.
Prisons are something really fascinating, because as humans, what we do in this thing that we call society.
Beware of society by the way, because society is nothing more than normalized mediocrity.
Well, for all of us, so that order is maintained,
in any system that must be able to grow exponentially in terms of population growth.
We need a system to manage that, and we are going to codify this system.
And then we will call these things the right behavior.
Categorize.
Rules.
Laws.
If you transgress them, we will punish you.
We have to do it, because otherwise it will be a mess.
It's like no one tells you, sit on the left side of the car and drive on the right side of the road.
You will sit where you want and you will drive as you want.
And we can't create a society like that.
So what society does is that it writes its rules, it codifies them,
by creating an average for the average of people.
The average human being should be like that.
That's why your mother tells you, go to school, get a good education, find a job, find a husband,
have 2.5 children, live in a nice house.
That's why she tells you that, because your mother comes from a society with a system of normalized mediocrity.
And then you come and say, no, maybe not.
Maybe I don't want to finish my studies, or maybe I want to, but I don't want to find a job.
I want to spend the next 5 years without knowing where my next meal will come from.
Because I have a dream.
At the moment you free yourself from the rules of society,
exactly what will happen to you in prison will happen to you.
Listen to this.
So you break the law, they send you to prison.
Why?
Because if we can remove you from the limits of society, we punish you.
Human beings, by their deep nature,
need interaction.
This is a vital part of being a human being.
When you are in prison and you break the laws, what do they do to you?
They put you in isolation.
So just to be clear,
for the strongest,
the strongest
and bad people in society,
the only and most powerful form of punishment
is separation.
It's not a physical punishment.
It's that I'm going to put you in a hole,
all alone.
That's all.
And that will
destroy you.
That's why most people don't have the courage to take the path of entrepreneurship.
Because the minute you start, you say to yourself, oh my God,
I'm alone.
All the people who have a goal, a dream,
a business idea or something that really matters to them.
These people, if they want to move towards their dream,
they will inevitably be forced
to face loneliness.
Imagine having two paths in front of you.
The first path has been taken
by thousands of people.
And the second path,
well, it's not a path.
It's a path to create through the branches
in the jungle.
Which one will you choose?
If you take the path that has been taken by thousands of people,
the advantage is that it is already marked.
But the disadvantage
is that you will learn nothing on this path.
And in addition,
all the bees
on the edge of the path have already been collected.
So the only benefit of taking this path
is ease.
Whereas if you take the path
that is to be created
through the branches, the powerful
and the unforeseen,
you risk losing yourself.
You also risk finding yourself alone for longer than expected.
But the benefit
is that you may end up on a gold mine.
You may discover things that no one has discovered before.
And if you manage to get to the bottom of things,
other people will then
be able to follow in your footsteps.
Getting into entrepreneurship
is creating your own path,
facing loneliness and the unforeseen.
In a way, it is the equivalent of getting out of your comfort zone
to take a risk
hoping to get more
than what you can get
by going through the path of ease.
Of course, this means that you will have to,
for those who wish to take this path,
give up, sacrifice
safety
for adventure.
Okay.
All those who have ideas, stand up.
Now,
for those of you who have remained seated,
I would like you to look at all those people who have ideas
with contempt
and shame
and disgust
for the mess
that they really are.
People have ideas.
When you leave, I would like you to remember one thing.
Like Usain Bolt,
shut up.
And get out of the starting blocks.
Stop talking about it.
Stop sending emails about it.
Stop writing business plans.
Stop creating websites for things that don't exist.
Shut it up
and do it.
Wait, stand up, stand up.
Stand up.
I haven't told you to sit down yet.
For all those who have ideas,
I would like you to find the person next to you,
the person on your left.
And if the person on your left is also a person with ideas,
then look at another person on the left.
I would like you to catch this person by the shoulder.
Tight.
And once you've caught him, I'd like you to look him in the eyes.
Look deep into his eyes.
Deeper.
And that's what I'd like you to say.
I'd like you to look deep into their eyes.
And then
with a very calm and measured voice,
with a very sophisticated tone.
I'd like you to say that.
I promise.
You should see that.
Let's do it again.
Wait, wait.
Calm down, calm down.
Let's do it again with a calm and measured voice.
Put your hand on your heart and you're going to say.
I promise.
That after this presentation,
I'm going to take out the starting blocks.
It's perfect.
Well done.
Courage
is what people lack.
We don't lack people who lack ideas.
Most of us have ideas.
But it's the strength
of character
and the inner courage
to persist
on the ideas you have.
Almost everyone has an idea like that
that they've been keeping for months,
or even years
in their heads,
saying to themselves,
this idea is crazy.
When I have a little more time,
I'm going to put it in place
and I'm going to explode.
There are a lot of people who make this mistake.
But
how do you know if your idea is a good idea?
Imagine
you have an idea
and you've created an MVP,
a minimum viable product.
And you're going to look for funds
to launch your idea.
Besides, which I don't recommend in most cases.
I think it's much more interesting
to find
an ingenious way
to launch your idea
without having to count on external investors.
But it doesn't matter.
How do you know if your idea
is a good idea?
It's very simple.
Because a good idea,
for me,
is not necessarily a good idea for you.
A good idea
is an idea for which
you have
an unfair advantage
on the competition.
If you go to investors,
they're going to ask you,
OK, cool, the idea, potentially,
there seems to be a market for this idea.
But,
you,
what is your unfair advantage
on the competition
to implement this idea?
If there is no answer to this question,
it's that it's not a good idea for you.
And so, how do you develop
an unfair advantage
on the competition?
Through your knowledge,
your skills,
your experience
and your finances.
The worst disadvantage would be to have nothing but finances.
Because inevitably, you're going to lose them
if you don't have the knowledge,
the skills and the experience.
How do you develop knowledge,
skills and experience?
It's very simple.
By starting to do something.
And what you're going to discover
is that the path to success
will be your failures
that will bring you
knowledge, skills and experience.
So, for those of you who have ideas
while you're starting,
those of you who are moving forward,
know that in the first 999 days,
it's really very difficult.
The reason is simple.
It's because there's nothing yet.
Everything is to be built.
You see this building in which we are.
I love architecture and I love buildings.
This building in which we are is incredible, isn't it?
Because we're all in it
and none of us have the slightest doubt
that it will keep us safe.
None of us here
wondered
if this thing above us
could collapse on our heads.
The reason is because the foundation of this building
has been perfectly managed.
So, the most important part of the building
is the part of the building that we don't see.
And so, for each of us entrepreneurs,
this foundation is crucial.
And this foundation starts with you and starts here.
You can't build it
unless you build it yourself.
So, a business
is something you create for the world.
It's a manifestation of yourself, your ideas,
your creativity, your thoughts.
But if you don't go well,
it will never work.
Most of us are broken inside
and we don't fix the broken thing.
We camouflage it.
It's like I grew up with a lack.
I suffered.
I was told I was worth nothing.
Now that I've succeeded,
I want to show everyone my success.
Because if they claim that I am someone,
then it must be true.
And before you reach this state
where you realize that their claims are not necessary,
that in reality you are totally free.
So, for those who want to have a business,
if it's the external claims you're looking for,
you're going to fail.
It won't work.
Did it touch an air for you?
Yes.
It's hard.
I mean, it happens when you have a dream,
when you're in it,
and you're there, but why don't they understand?
The world must be,
but have they lost their minds?
Have you ever seen something that no one else sees,
but you know it's there,
because you can see it?
You're there, but there!
And you explain it to them, but they don't see anything.
And at that moment,
the only thing that allows you to move forward
is to realize that the only affirmation you need
comes from yourself.
When you have a dream and you're convinced,
it's easy enough to convince anyone.
But as soon as you have a difficult day or a difficult period,
and you stop believing it,
suddenly, everything disappears.
And so, what kind of motivation?
What kind of reason?
Why?
Could you allow yourself to stay focused
on the idea that your dream is going to come true?
In my opinion, there are three types of motivation to know.
The first is
extrinsic motivation.
We can also divide extrinsic motivation
into two categories.
The first is positive.
It consists, in most cases,
of wanting material goods,
for example, a car.
And that's the weakest motivation.
A slightly more powerful motivation
is to have a negative extrinsic motivation.
For example,
if you don't do what you have to do,
you're going to lose your car.
It's more powerful than the desire to get a new one.
Then there's intrinsic motivation.
It's an inner motivation
that is more focused on the idea of evolving
and taking pleasure in the activity itself.
So you don't do what you do
just to get more money
or more material goods or not to lose any,
but you do it because you have a pleasure
to improve yourself in what you do.
And finally, the most powerful motivation
is pro-social motivation.
It's when you do something for yourself,
but also for the people you love.
It can be your parents
to be able to protect them
or it can be for an organization
that you want to help.
This motivation is the most powerful.
And if you combine these three types of motivation
on a daily basis,
when you have more difficult days,
it will be easy for you
to remember why you are doing what you are doing
and therefore not to give up.
