Reacher Season 2 Is Already Very Different To Season 1 - But That'll Make Amazon's Show Even Better

Jack Reacher is returning to the Amazon streaming service this December, and with his return comes a brand new plot filled with intrigue, violence, and hidden twists. What's this new season about, and what does it mean for the series? The first season of the show introduced us to Jack Reacher. The hulking drifter is actually a former military police officer and dedicated investigator. After rolling into a small town because of its connection to jazz history, Reacher got involved in a murder mystery that involved the death of his own brother. The first season also introduced us to several key characters, such as Roscoe and Finley, two dedicated police officers. We are also introduced to Frances Neagley, an old partner and ally of Reacher's. Well, season 2 is already shaping up to be very different from the first. While Neagley is returning, Roscoe and Finley are not. Instead, the new season will actually be based on the 11th book in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble. The story centers around Neagley, who enlists Reacher's help in solving the murder of another former member of their team. This story expands on Reacher's history, and the central mystery has more to do with his violent past. The new season has also added several new characters. Sarinda Swan joins the show as Carla Dixon, who is another part of Reacher's old military special investigations unit. We are also getting Ferdinand Kingsley as A.M., who is a Syrian terrorist. Season 2 won't be a direct adaptation of Bad Luck and Trouble, however. As the showrunner has said, there will be significant diversions in the story from its source material. Reacher's season 2 has the chance to do something very different than the first season, but we will have to wait until the season premieres sometime in December 2023.
