...has had to tweak his side as the Briggers start to buy five changes from the Champions League in midweek.
David Raya keeps his confidence and continues in goal.
Oleksandr Senchenko had a rest in Seville on Tuesday, he returns here.
Jakub Kivioz in for just his second league start of the campaign.
Emil Smith-Rowe is into the midfield, a first Premier League start for him for 17 months.
Kai Havertz joins the ever-present Declan Rice to make up that trio.
Chance for Heddy and Kertier to fill the considerable gap left by the latest injury to Gabriel Jesus.
He's flanked by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, who proudly wears the armband.
Gabriel, Martin Odegaard and Jorginho all drop down to the Arsenal bench.
Hockenbottom hopes that this is the 11th to spring a surprise here at Arsenal.
Only Wes Bodringham has been able to start every game for them in the league this season.
The back line beset with injuries, three first-choice centre-halves all missing.
So this looks like a back four again, the same as started the defeat to Manchester United.
New face in midfield, a first Premier League start for the Tunisian international,
Anis Slemani, a summer signing from Brombu.
And Rhian Brewster in from the start as well.
It's actually his first start for Sheffield United for over a year.
George Bulldog is back after five games out to add some much-needed Premier League experience.
He will start, though, from the Blades bench here at a packed and vibrant Emirates stadium this afternoon.
The Blades get us underway, looking to do what they have never done before
and win a Premier League match in this part of north London.
Here's Rice, fresh from scoring at Stamford Bridge last week.
This might come to habits in the nick of time Robinson was in.
Whipped in well, whipped in very well.
It caused chaos, but no-one could get the telling touch.
Zinchenko adding that extra element.
An almost-caught Sheffield United out, but not quite.
Palmer drills it in, straight to Raya.
Here comes the danger, Raya out, seeking Martinelli.
Martinelli with the pace to get there ahead of Bogle.
Saka up to join him, Martinelli will go himself.
Delicious dancing feet, it's for Kaya Saka.
It's close.
Rice, from injury, Arsenal hit top gear and hit the front.
Nketiah, just that check there and the touch that takes it into his path
with enough pace on it to take it away from Trustee.
And the finish, sublime, clinical, effective.
A wonderful goal, a wonderful assist from Declan Rice as well.
Saka.
Martinelli.
Still Martinelli, draws a fine save from Wes Fodringham.
Fakes to cross it, cuts, and then he just picks his mate out again,
Martinelli, in the chop, and then the finish is delightful.
It's a great save by Fodringham, but good from Arsenal again.
Lovely stuff.
And a slip from Smith Rowe for Brewster,
who looks for a way through.
Out by White.
Well, a lot of the talk in the build-up to this match
was how Arsenal were going to cope without the injured Gabriel Jesus.
That man wearing the famous number 14 shirt for Arsenal
came up with a fabulous answer on 28 minutes.
The touch to create the shot was absolutely fabulous
and the finish itself wasn't half bad.
Half-time at the Emirates, Arsenal lead Sheffield United
by one goal to nil.
Rice and White, the two in and around Wes Fodringham.
The call from Fodringham, he couldn't clear it,
and he cuts it, and he cuts it at will.
And he fires it, roof of the net, roofless,
exactly what Arsenal needed was that second goal,
and it's that man again.
Pleasing for Arsenal for so many reasons in the context of this match
and the context of the confidence of Eddie Nketiah,
who'd only scored two goals in nine games coming into this.
Well, he has two in 50 minutes here.
Smith-Rowe.
Nketiah!
Sharp, the half-turn, no pressure on him, and he's just let fire.
And the finish, he swerves it away from the goalkeeper.
Half drills it, half curls it, and the way it just nestles.
Well, that would crown off the afternoon for Arsenal
if they can get the German on the score sheet.
There's Martinelli.
There's White!
A sizzler saved by Fodringham.
Trossard hangs it up, Havertz licking his lips.
Tomiyasu!
A joy to watch some of the passing.
Osborne.
Oh, that's about decision time.
Well, Fodringham has a pretty decent record at saving penalties.
Sheffield United don't concede too many.
Well, they've conceded that once of the season.
Arsenal have their fourth of the afternoon.
Just rolls it, gives him the eyes.
Sums up Arsenal's afternoon.
They've been really clinical.
Classy.
And also Sheffield United's afternoon.
It's been a tough one.
Elneny with the near-post run, just glances off his head.
It's Leicester turn, but not on his 50th Premier League appearance.
Here's the Arsenal goal.
Conceding from set-pieces.
And then this is just another nail in the coffin.
It's just a turn again.
Tomiyasu just reacting first.
He just spins off into the space and just takes a swing at it.
That's really poor from Sheffield United's perspective.
That's 29 goals conceded in 10 matches for Sheffield United.
