Pour le printemps, je vous emmène pour une journée dans mon assiette. Au programme : des repas qui ressemblent à mon quotidien, non planifiés, et complètement honnêtes.
This week I wanted to take you with me for a day of meals.
It's Saturday, I woke up quite tired so I decided that I would spend my day in comfortable clothes
and that I would not worry too much about the kitchen.
I obviously start my day with my morning tea.
If you saw my first video One day in my plate or if you follow me on Instagram,
you probably know that I always start my day with a black tea.
Today it's a Russian Earl Grey.
I like to drink it while hanging out a little,
usually I sit down with my dear and tender while he drinks his coffee,
but he started work early and I'm alone so I take the opportunity to write a little in my dream notebook.
I try to get used to writing regularly by hand.
For the record, I dreamed last night that I was swimming in a river of marshmallows and it was very pleasant.
An hour later I start to get a little hungry so I make myself a little breakfast.
For a long time I haven't had breakfast and I still don't eat from the bottom of the bed, I don't like that.
But I'm starting to get hungry again in the morning, so when I'm hungry, I eat.
I make my eternal marmite tarts, it's a kind of very salty and very special English tart dough.
While waiting for my bread to cool, because I hate it when margarine melts on hot bread,
I serve myself a little apple-banana compote, my favorite compote.
Then I butter my tarts with margarine.
And I take my breakfast while working.
For lunch I didn't have too many ideas, I decided to make some kind of bowls with what I had on hand.
I start with quinoa, which I rinse thoroughly.
If you don't rinse your quinoa, I really recommend it to remove the dust and mitigate the bitterness.
I don't eat it very often, but I like to eat it from time to time to make composed bowls.
As I knew there wouldn't be a lot of ingredients in the bowls, I decided to season the quinoa by putting a bay leaf and vegetable broth in the cooking water.
While the quinoa is cooking, I prepare my beetroots in a box.
I know that the vegetables in a box are not everyone's cup of tea, but for me the beetroots in a box are one of my favorite vegetables in a box.
All I have to do is rinse them and drain them.
I also prepare some seeds here, zucchini seeds.
All seeds are much better once toasted, so I brown them as they are in the pan by brushing them regularly.
Be careful, the seeds that toast can sometimes explode and take one in the face, it hurts a lot, believe me.
When everything is ready, I just have to assemble.
I prepare a bowl for me, a bowl for Adrien, starting with the quinoa, then the beetroots, the zucchini seeds,
the dragon sauce, it's a sauce with a lot of flavor that doesn't come from me, but I put the recipe link in the video.
Then a little green onion.
Here are two very simple bowls, Adrien is vegan too so we always eat the same thing.
I would have added tempeh or tofu if I had any, but simplicity is good too, and the bowls were delicious.
For the snack, once is not customary, I was not very hungry.
So I served myself some compote with a yogurt, but usually I eat marmite pies, or margarine, cornichons, if you haven't tried it, you should.
These are the new yogurts, or desserts I'm not sure, from Carrefour à la Coco.
I like to taste the novelties, usually I take them once, then I don't buy them again.
In texture, these are a bit like Andros coconut milk desserts, a little less spicy.
And I admit everything, I also ate a tomato cracker.
Just after, I decided to make myself a coffee to take for a walk.
In a cup, I make half water, half vanilla soy milk.
I heat it up.
And if I don't have fresh coffee, I add espresso powder, a little cocoa to change.
Caramel syrup for a sweet touch.
Then I whip it all up.
And let's go for our walk.
Sorry for these shaky shots, I still wanted to show you the beautiful landscapes of my home.
We really looked for a long time with Adrien to find a place that we like and for which we would be accepted,
and I feel really lucky to have our new home in such a beautiful place.
Without transition, we move on to dinner.
We decided for tonight to make samosas.
I cut you the sound to pass our conversations on the latte with miso,
and to spare you from my reprises of Madonna.
For our samosas, I prepare potatoes to cook in water to puree them,
and Adrien prepares vegetables to cook in the pan to add to the stuffing.
You are always many to be surprised on Instagram when I explain that Adrien and I cook very often together.
And besides, he cooks just as much as I do.
I find it so important to cook together,
first because it is a question of fair distribution of household chores,
but also because it is one of the rare creative moments that we can do on a daily basis together.
Food has always been something important to me, for better or for worse.
I have always been the person who brings homemade cakes to parties, who watches cooking videos.
I think I very quickly considered cooking as a proof of affection,
and honestly it would make me sad not to share that with half of me.
If it's not something you do often, you should.
Put on some music, cook a cake or pizza with your partner, your children, your friends,
and who knows, it could well become a habit.
A philosophical aside, we make our samosa stuffing with mashed potatoes,
fried golden vegetables, lots of spices, and we mix it all up.
If you ever want the exact recipe, do not hesitate to tell me in the comments and I will film it for you.
We fold our samosas, which is still much faster in two,
then they go to the oven, and here they are after cooking.
I was hungry and it was late, so I didn't film more shots of these delicious samosas.
We ate them all.
So here are some small images of nature while I conclude.
I hope you enjoyed this video, gave you ideas or satisfied your curiosity.
I know it was neither 100% balanced dishes, nor extremely varied or particular dishes,
but that's also what I wanted to show you.
I think we are many to feel complexed while watching videos a day on my plate,
made by food bloggers or influencers.
Either because we don't eat products of as good quality as this person,
or because we don't eat as balanced, not as many vegetables, not as many fruits, not as complex,
and I just wanted to tell you that it doesn't matter.
I don't throw the stone at people who have a varied diet and who show it in their videos,
but we must still remember that it is normal to have more time to devote to these meals when we are bloggers,
and that food is our job.
It is normal to eat differently according to our financial means and the time we can devote to these meals.
The whole point is to listen, to try to eat as varied as possible, and above all to have fun.
I will elaborate a little more on this topic on my blog to stop the monologue in video here.
So if you want to read that, the link will be just below the video, in the description.
Thank you for watching and listening to the end if you are still there.
We'll meet again next week for a new video.
So in the meantime, I kiss you and see you soon!
