Berbekal pelatihan dengan Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) Seorang Warga Cimalaka, Kabupaten Sumedang membudidaya ikan kancra menggunakan air yang bersumber dari mata air langsung dan dirangsang dengan suntikan hormon. Trik pematangan telur atau pemijahan buatan pun mampu menghasilkan ribuan telur dan diantaranya menghasilkan jenis ikan baru yang bernama Tor Platinum dengan warna mengkilat seperti logam emas putih.
