The Worlds Safest Skateboard For Beginners

Right my friends, hello and welcome back to another video. Today we're putting the escapers and boards to the side to deal with something that I am very excited for. I know the boys are too. We've got Josh behind the camera, Sam just behind me over there, and right here we have the Vibe Ride. Now, Vibe Ride sounds like something you might find in your old dears bedroom, but this one is a skateboard. Now, I cracked the box beforehand just to have a quick look. For those of you that don't know, yes, it is a longboard, but no, it's not your average longboard. This has a brake. This actually has a fully functioning brake, very similar to what you would find on the back of a scooter, but the braking system I've just been told by Josh here is actually the same as the car's. This is a very high-tech bit of kit. Now, I've still got these bits on it, as you can see. We'll just get rid of those. Right here, you can see this is no normal truck. This thing is over-engineered to the max and looks incredible. It actually stops the board incredibly well. We're going to give this a little test run in today's video. I'm going to have a go, the boys are going to have a go, and then we're going to give you our honest thoughts and let you know whether or not you should bother trying one. Let's get into it. That's so clean. First impressions, how does she work? I mean, it feels smooth as hell. Yes? Yes. It's weirdly nice. I think the trucks need a loosen. We need to loosen the trucks. That thing, you've got no turning radius on it. Has it not? That's actually a good point. How does that back truck turn and can you even loosen it? I'm sure you can, yes, but there's no- It looks so weird from the side. Yes, it's got a disc brake in it. So you can stop. Let's see some nose wheelies. Let me go down the hill. How does it work going down the ramp? I just felt like it was controlled really nicely there. Yes? It stopped. Did you have the foot on the brake as you went down the ramp? Yes, I did. I'll try and go faster and see how it works. Yes, gun it. See if you can hit a blunt pull-in on that. A blunt pull-in on this thing. There's nothing underneath the truck. It's all right, it's got a tail. You definitely can loosen the truck though. Yes. There's a bolt on it. All right, cool. There you go, full brake action. It seems like it worked pretty well. I reckon I can go even faster. Still stopping in the same place. I mean, for someone that's actually trying to learn how to skateboard and might not feel comfortable riding, this might be a great little training thing. I will say the price on these I'll put on screen right now. I think they're about £200. Really? Only £200? Yes, for a longboard- I would have thought they'd have been a lot more. Yes, for a longboard, that's well good, I think. Yes, and you get- Yes, for a longboard, that's well good, I think. Yes, and you get- A standard longboard would be like £160, £150. And you get all this technology. It does look sick. Yes, you've got the actual- And the bearings in these wheels. Obviously, this comes as a full set-up, don't get me wrong. It's not just an attractive iron. So that pushes out that into the disc, which stops it working. Nice. And why not? I mean, you literally have to jump on it. Save that for the end of the video. I'm not doing that. Even included in the box, a skate tool and a little spanner as well. That's for loosening and tightening this, obviously. Yeah, yeah. So that's good that they've included that in the bag. All right, cool. First try. Oi, that's bouncy, man. That feels nice. Yeah, it's springed up. I actually well like that. That feels super comfortable. And maybe we could do a little fucking tyre tap. Nice. Do you reckon you could roll it in, straight down? I don't know. Why don't you find out? If I break it, I'm sorry, Mum. Yo! Ow! I can't lie. Right, one mishap later. You can't say I don't commit to the part. Kick turns don't quite work how you'd think. See, it feels really horrible having the brake on the front. Yeah, the brake on the front is not the vibe. It spits you out a little bit. It feels like it jitters me a bit. I don't think I'm very well practised. I think it's because you've got to be kind of light on the brake. Delicate, yeah. It's like a car brake. You've got to just give it a little bit and ease into it. That works super well, though. It's a really well-made brake. Yeah. It does just look over-engineered. Semi-bore. Canopy kickflip is the real thing. The diddly. That's a job for you. As an ex-longboarder, the board feels quite nice. He's an ex-longboarder. It was my entry to skateboarding. Yeah, that's a good point, man. I think, yeah, if you're like maybe a BMX skater and you're thinking about getting into skateboarding, this might be the perfect casual way in. This is like your little gateway. It's a good cruiser because you get the safety, too. If marijuana is a gateway drug, this is the gateway board. This is like A to B. Yeah, exactly. It's your A to B-er. Especially if you've got some big hills on your way. Yeah, and if there's a car coming, you slam that brake down, hit some skids. All right, let's do the brake test. How many skids can you do? Sir, sir, can I get your honest thoughts? It's all right. Oh, you didn't brake. Rock fakey? You could do that and roll it back over. I might suffer the consequences that you did. Yeah, but that's just because I didn't commit properly. So silent. I think it's one for the books. Oh, come on! She got me. I put my foot on the brake thinking it was the tail. Should we try a kickflip? It's pretty heavy, I don't think. It does need to get kickflips. It's one of them ones.
